They are both fast bikes, I am 5,5 and I am growing out of my 150r but am still small for a 125 2stroke, I would recommend the 150r just because it has less power and would be easier for a beginner. But if you want something to grow into, get the yz125. Hopefully this helps.

Wgat do you recomend more for a 5,5 begainer? I either have the option for a 2014 150r or 2018 yz 125
