Thanks for making this video. I have seen these wheels on Amazon, and I'm thinking these could be a good wheel for someone starting out with wheel work. One thing I did notice, the wheel is turning the wrong way! Do you have it running that way on purpose, perhaps because you are left handed? Does the wheel have a good range of speed control when it's running in both directions? Regards David.

Hello David, thanks for commenting!! The Vevor is a great wheel for beginners. I recommend it! I am left- handed, so when I tested both wheels it remained in that position. The wheel is made for left and right-handed users. To answer your question about speed control, the wheel starts off slow and gradually increase to its maximum speed by turning the knob. Thanks again!

I thinking of decorating cakes with it!!

Yes, there are similar pottery wheels with different tray attachments, as the Vevor I purchased. However the Vevor tray can be removed easy by simply pulling it apart. That's a great idea using it to decorate cakes. This pottery wheel would be perfect for that. Have fun!!!

Is it okay to plug it into a house power outlet? On the Manual it says plug into a 220v/110v power socket. Does that mean I have to get an en tension that takes 220v?

The plug works perfect with any US household outlet.

Thank-you for sharing, is this wheel suitable for air drying clay? Thanks

    • @bjaceramics

Yes. Since we do not have kiln, students use air-dry clay to throw on the wheel. Thanks for your comment!

I gave my daughter the money to order one for my wife for Christmas (Sneaky huh?). The 350 watt, 11". I figured the bigger wheel would probably be a good buy since it wasn't much more than the smaller one.
What kind of clay do you recommend? I bought a used Skutt kiln, years ago for $50.00, but haven't ever used it.

@battalion151R Congrats on the new wheel! I think any stoneware or low fire clay would do. I normally use high fire clay such as Laguna speckled clay or Laguna b mix. I also use Electric Brown by Laguna. Thanks for your comment.
