1:45 That is a carranca (double R sounds like H). That's a sculpture that can be part animal and part man that goes on the bow of the fishermen's boat on São Francisco River (state's biggest and largest river and part of it separates northern side of Bahia from Pernambuco state). It's believed it protects the fishermen from bad omen and bad spirits.
