- In 2003, Farris published a children's book about Dr. King's childhood and the siblings' upbringing in the 1920s titled "My Brother Martin: A Sister Remembers Growing Up with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr." She followed that with an autobiography in 2009 titled "Though It All: Reflection on My Life, My Family, and My Faith."
Just as she watched over her younger brothers when they were children, decades later, Farris helped ensure King's legacy lived on following his assassination in 1968.
A great civil rights activist in her own right, Farris joined Coretta Scott King, King's widow, in establishing the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change in northwest Atlanta in June 1968.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Farris was married to Isaac Newton Farris Sr. for 57 years before his passing. The couple had two children, Isaac Farris Jr. and Dr. Angela Farris-Watkins.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Farris when I lived in Atlanta. She was so sweet and gracious. She also had the best sense of humor. She had a way of making everyone in her presence feel welcome and loved. Rest in peace QUEEN ❤

Wow what a fantastic woman she was I remember being drawn to her whenever I saw because my grandmother has the same cheeks and I just watched the documentary on her mothers such a beautiful family. I am so sorry to hear of Dr.Christine King Farris passing. She was such a sweet woman of God. I had the privilege of taking a picture with her by a tourist one Sunday morning outside Ebenezer Baptist Church prior to us going inside to worship our Savior, Jesus. May she rest in heaven.

I didn't know that Dr. King's sister had passed away until seeing this video. RIP, Dr. King-Farris. Praise God!!!!!!!! I look forward to the day, God Almighty will call me on to glory because I am living in HELL on earth with so much confusion, anger, and hate.
