My daughter went to school with Jushua, and he was such a kind and loving young man with a bright future ahead of him. I hope whoever took these young men life's are caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I pray God wraps His arms around the parents and comforts their spirit with peace................We have to change as a race. I'm willing to do whatever is necessary to help and assist with this change.
I lost both of my sons 3 months a part last year in 2022. September and December. As a father, my soul like to have left my body. This triggered so many tears….The pain is the worse. The pain a mother experiences when a child comes in the world…a real father experiences that pain in a worse way when his child is cut down. The pain is paralyzing and one is left to cry out to God and weep bitterly. I just returned to work full-time after having to go part-time for 10 months. Intense therapeutic help and medication was needed. God help those who suffered this type of lost. I have experienced many loses but the pain of losing a child I would not wish on my worse enemies.

I knew them, I went to school with them and knew them for years. I even dated Dominic for a short period.. they were the kindest people ever, nobody felt judged by them. Even the kids who were bullied by other kids were treated respectfully by them, it’s so sad that we lost special men!😔 I hope justice is served!

I really don’t think the mother or father had time to say goodbye. They were rushed. I really feel like the funeral people should have taken over. I think the pastor should have stayed in the pulpit. We always see mother crying over their children but when you see a father so broken it simply breaks your soul. NOTHING was so intent that the only way to resolve it was to take the life of two young men who worked hard, made an honest living, and were young men of integrity. This senselessness killing of your own ethnicity MUST END! Too much bad stuff is going on in that place now. I live close by and used to walk to the bar when it was called Cheers and Jeers but the crowd has changed now. I ride pass that bar everyday on my way to work and the cops are always throwing their lights on to get to that bar because of a disturbance. When someone you love passes away, I suggest they go to the viewing, the day before the actual funeral, if the family decides to have one, to see their loved ones off. That way, they won’t be ushered off, like, they are being done now. That bothers me. They are grieving, trying to say their final goodbyes. Some people had just walked up, and were ushered off. Do better. They can’t even grieve the way they want to because of just that. Please, let them have their moment. By you doing that to them, you’re just adding insult to injury.
I agree. That irritated me so much. I felt like Pastor Vernon was not showing compassion. Pushing them along and motioning for them to move along quickly was hard to watch. I'm not surprised though. That Pastor was mean to me and my daughter back on Aug 9th, 2009 when we lost everything in a flood and were homeless. I was told to reach out to the Word Church but when I met the Pastor he said he couldn't help us if we weren't members of the church. I broke out crying because I felt that was our last hope. As my daughter and I started to leave the church a gentleman named Brother Roy, Royce, Ray (I'm sorry I forgot his name but I think it started with an R) called us back into the church and let us relax on the pews since it was late and he saw me and my babygirl was exhausted. He also got us what we wanted to eat and he gave me some money so we could purchase hygiene items we needed and he gave me some info that helped me and my daughter out a lot. I thank God he showed me and my daughter mercy that night. 🙏🏽

So one day I ask my father could I go out to play with my friends, and he said No. I was upset and I begin to cry, my father look at me and said “joe” if you want to live longer stay home some time, being a child l didn’t know what he meant, now I do. My father was protecting me and I didn’t know that. My father is gone now, I love him for looking after me. Love you daddy and I miss you. Even now l love being at home. My condolences to the family.

I really don’t think the mother or father had time to say goodbye. They were rushed. I really feel like the funeral people should have taken over. I think the pastor should have stayed in the pulpit. He should have been sitting with the family when the service was going on until it was time to eulogize.

I am the mother of two sons who are 20 and 29. I also have a 28-year-old daughter, and my heart is broken because no one deserves this. We always see mother crying over their children but when you see a father so broken it simply breaks your soul. NOTHING was so intent that the only way to resolve it was to take the life of two young men who worked hard, made an honest living, and were young men of integrity. This senselessness killing of your own ethnicity MUST END! Lord, continue to cover this family, help them heal, and provide them with peace that goes beyond all understanding.

Crying my eyes out. I feel so bad for Dad. He lost both of his sons on what suppose to be a fun night full of music and dancing at a bar. I hate that bar A Touch Of Italy. Too much bad stuff is going on in that place now. I live close by and used to walk to the bar when it was called Cheers and Jeers but the crowd has changed now. I ride pass that bar everyday on my way to work and the cops are always throwing their lights on to get to that bar because of a disturbance. I hate some idiot took them young men from their family and friends. Turn yourself in because I know you watching all the media and news on what you did. When someone you love passes away, I suggest they go to the viewing, the day before the actual funeral, if the family decides to have one, to see their loved ones off. That way, they won’t be ushered off, like, they are being done now. That bothers me. They are grieving, trying to say their final goodbyes. Some people had just walked up, and were ushered off. Do better. They can’t even grieve the way they want to because of just that. Please, let them have their moment. By you doing that to them, you’re just adding insult to injury.
I agree. That irritated me so much. I felt like Pastor Vernon was not showing compassion. Pushing them along and motioning for them to move along quickly was hard to watch. I'm not surprised though. That Pastor was mean to me and my daughter back on Aug 9th, 2009 when we lost everything in a flood and were homeless. I was told to reach out to the Word Church but when I met the Pastor he said he couldn't help us if we weren't members of the church. I broke out crying because I felt that was our last hope. As my daughter and I started to leave the church a gentleman named Brother Roy, Royce, Ray (I'm sorry I forgot his name but I think it started with an R) called us back into the church and let us relax on the pews since it was late and he saw me and my babygirl was exhausted. He also got us what we wanted to eat and he gave me some money so we could purchase hygiene items we needed and he gave me some info that helped me and my daughter out a lot. I thank God he showed me and my daughter mercy that night. 🙏🏽

Coming down from the stage to push people along was so tacky on his part but like I said I'm not surprised.... I'm still shocked 14 yrs later that a pastor was acting like that towards a mother and her child who just lost everything and who wasn't from up here in Ohio. Didn't care at all. Who cares if you are a member of a church or not. If a person is reaching out for help especially in my situation at that particular time then help them if you call yourself being a man of the cloth. That's why a lot of these pastors are being exposed now because their intentions are not pure. I felt Pastor Vernon made this funeral about him. It was like a big production to him and he is so arrogant. Laughing and joking about some fraternity colors and trying to recruit new members for his church at the expense of this man's pain. I can tell that Dad was not feeling some of that stuff that pastor was saying when they would put the camera on his face. I'm sorry but I just felt like no real compassion was shown to this family. It was just one big production to promote the church!!!

When I was a young boy coming up in the 60th, after school I had to ask my parents can I go out to play. So one day I ask my father could I go out to play with my friends, and he said No. I was upset and I begin to cry, my father look at me and said “joe” if you want to live longer stay home some time, being a child l didn’t know what he meant, now I do. My father was protecting me and I didn’t know that. My father is gone now, I love him for looking after me. Love you daddy and I miss you. Even now l love being at home. My condolences to the family.

I can't imagine what emotions he's going through. I have a daughter and a son, ages 32 and 29 years old. I don't even want to imagine how I would feel if I was in the father's shoes. We need to stop killing one another. I'm 50 years old and I always said that our race doesn't support or even love or respect one another. It's always Jealousy and envy between our people.
