@@tyagarajakinkara They both were great but Chitra chechi had a better voice texture and singing style which was apt for the music in 1990s. It was with her entry both of them had to take a back seat.
@@tyagarajakinkara The only senior female singer with a clean voice was Lata ji. Others used to screech, hoot and coo in most of their songs.
@@magith87ekm both are legendary maestras whose time period and hard work can't be matched by any other singers. Chitra too has her voice limitations. Her maximum songs are in telugu ans she sang least in Malayalam because generally Kerala cinema gives negligible roles to women and more so singers. So each Malayalam movie, statistically has less songs and more so less female songs.
