Beautiful. Absolutely glorious sound. I'm looking to get a 379 of my own really soon, and the one I'm looking at has a 3406b. Always loved these trucks, ever since I was a little kid. Now I get to drive them for a living...
@@anthonionesbitt202 never drove one but i was around some from wilson with the iron side kw to the hererra brothers garden mate product powerliners . They had great power but didn't last too long, you always had to be working on them where as a 3408 dita or pc or a 1693 ta possessed great power and reliability. When it came to cummins motors with very good power and reliability i'd much rather have a big cam 400, 444 or an ntc tt 475.
Absolutely amazing sounding truck man I just subscribed to your channel. Do you think you could please do it more like this one only a lot longer and include the engine start up at the beginning and use the engine brake a lot on the next one cause I would love to hear the Jakes stay safe man and have a great one.
Seriously like your KittyCat Pete, how many ponies does she meows. In the reliability stakes do you rate the 3406B KittyCat with mechanical fuel injection as good ?. Would like to fit 3406B in a Scammell Crusader which has the same 6x4 drive as your Pete Model 379,and an 18 speed tri-range semi automatic overdrive gearbox(transmission) of my own design.
The 3406b is one of the most reliable engines caterpillar makes. Normally they’re around 425 hp although you can turn them up to around 475/500. They have weaker crank bearings so I wouldn’t push it to 600.
@@zachc474 Fair enough as i did not know the B series 3406 Kittycat has a weaker bottom end,and 450-460 ponies is all I can expect before main and big end bearing integrity is compromised. So for serious ponies i better opt for the 'E' Series 3406 Kittycat so long it is reliable with mechanical fuel injection. As for ACERT Kittys i stay well away, they are for geeks with glasses and a laptop.
@@basiltaylor8910 I don’t know too much about the 3406E but from what I’ve heard it’s a pretty good engine. Idk about it being mechanical though. As far as I know, Cat switched to electronic fuel injection soon after they started making the 3406c. You may be able to find a later model with mechanical fuel injection but it’s gonna be harder because they are highly sought after. If you’d like to do more research, I recommend checking out Adept Ape’s channel. He knows pretty much everything about Cat engines and he makes several good videos on the pros and cons of each.
@@zachc474 ,Thought so, as i am mistrustful of any diesel with computer controlled fuel injection. So finding a serviceable 'E' Series 3406 with mechanical fuel injection especially in the UK is like trying to buy a bag of rocking horse dung for the veg patch. Can you convert an 'E' Series with electronic fuel injection to mechanical ?.
@@basiltaylor8910 you probably could, I’m not sure how easy it is to do, but I know people have done it. I’ve seen a mechanical C-15 before which they had done themselves, but I have no idea how much work it requires. I’d imagine it couldn’t be too hard considering that they’re basically the same engine.

Nothing pulls and sounds better than a cat, in my opinion.
I totally agree
Damn Right
Iam guessing you never drove a truck with a Cummins kta19

@@JCA-Z nice I have a Cummins big cam 400 turned up to 650hp it's reliable & gets the job done, but Cat 3406E will always be my favorite motor💕
This is just an amazing sound, thanks for sharing it.
Gotta love that mechanical cat sound
That 3406B/C sound good gotta love ‘em both💯🔥
Best sounding engine. Hands down!!!
In CAT we trust, all others are bust!😂🤙🏽🔥

Nothing sounds better than a mechanical motor. Cat or cummins
Love the flappers
Dozer motor sounds good
You pulling out of ec indiana? I know I know that overpass just south of 20 ! Lol right on man !
Yes sr east Chicago I was on Indianapolis blvd
Cool stuff man
Hopefully you’re still trucking
Yessir!!!
How do you get it to burn so clean? I have a mechanical 3406c and she blows lots of coal
Yeh but she don’t blow it all in one place lol 👍🇺🇸
It’s not really turned up as far as I know mine only smokes if I shift it at low rpm.
Did you mess with the afrc? Or the pump screws?
@@MIGUELGONZALEZ-nz2tu where was this located
@@sportsguy1992 in east Chicago Indiana

What size stacks are they
They are 7 in stacks
I would not replace a Killer whale for a CAT
