I'm Albanian, raised in the states. Our folk dancing is similar to middle eastern dancing, but doesn't come close to your debke dancing. I am obseesed with Debke dancing. So cool! So energetic. So powerful. And yes ,so sexy 😍
I am white and filipino from USA but i absolutely love this tradition and the music so thank you for sharing, i feel its more difficult to learn about these in english
That's interesting! When I heard "on the roof", I thought that isn't real but then I saw it and OMG?! I just can think about what happens if Mexican and Lebanese people enjoy a party together, maybe that will be the greatest and endless party ever!! LOL Greetings from Mexico!!
Thank you for the explanation. I just started watching Tamer Akil and find the dabke an awesome traditional dance. I would like to know what the singer is singing about. I didn't know about the dancing on the wall and find it interesting.

Cum ba yah is in a language from the Gurfina culture from the Islands and Africa that went to America ( North Carolina and Georgia) humans treated am horribly as migrating for employment contractors or traffic slaves ( free workers for the profit of owners ) in the great migration of the Transatlantic slave trade across the water in diaspora arriving in America. It is a song sung in tragic situations when the human spirit & soul can't take the body or mental suffering inflicted any longer. it's from your soul... when you can't do anything in situations to obtain freedom from pain or freedom at all. Its spiritually asking God to come near, hear you and that the individual needs Peace, Unity and hope through faith in a loving God that didn't create us to be abused . The Gullah language carries history from the island natives, the African people and the Indigenous Aboriginals that also traded befor slavery, the slave traders and the power of the individuals sold to overcome through calling on the Most Highest Power. So please keep that in mind people have chosen to say Cum Bah Ya that die or to make it through horrific circumstances. May Peace be within you
