    This is nice because it is allowing us to hear how they pronounce the words. I like this, too. I also like very much that you guys are speaking slowly. Thank you.

    Thanks a lot for this beginners' package. The 300 minutes or so were really fantastic. Now, it's time for early intermediate....
    ¡Muchas gracias por todo! And keep the good stuffs coming.

    I've been searching for listening material and this is exactly what I've been trying to get, I'm just about to finish National 4 at college and after the summer I will be moving up to Higher Spanish by advise from my tutor, thank you so much for this and keep up the good work.

    you should do a series with videos like this. i find that auditory comprehension is the main problem for most language learners. thanks for the video.

      That's a very good idea, terrycloth! :D

    • @callmemurphz

      yea sure. there are tons of websites that help people learn spanish grammar etc. however, there aren't many sites and resources for auditory comprehension, especially dialogues that are tailored for different learning levels -beginner, intermediate, advanced. maybe that could be an angle you could explore for your spanish business. it seems to be an under-served area.
      one problem with learning from the textbooks is that much of it is language that nobody would ever use. i read spanish textbooks and i say to myself, there's no way that anybody speaks like that. so hearing the spanish conversations in dialogues is very helpful because it lets me know that these are words that are actually used and useful.
      in a previous video cynthia asked gordon how he was and he responded: de puta madre. that was interesting and i remembered it because it is something i would say in english. i don't even remember the lesson. just videos of spanish speakers having normal conversations would be very useful for learning. nobody does it.

      Now that we have completed the 30 video range which was our target, the next range will be pure talking, pulling together everything that we have done across all the videos. I think that will probably be more your style.

    Just started learning Spanish and found this goldmine! The first thing I've noticed is that Cynthia has picked up Gordon's northern accent proving that if you're going to have any English accent, make sure it's a northern one!

    Six months of intense learning and practice surely paid off.....This was so easy that I wasn't translating to english in my mind. The only word i didn't know was 'chime'....chamerera or sth like dat....If I understood this video without stress, what level does it mean I'm in? cos I don't wanna get ahead of myself. I understand spanish radio up to 50-60% on average depending on the topic and accent. Me alegro mucho. Gracias por hacer estos videos

    Thanks a lot for this video. This was actually the first LightSpeed Spanish video I've seen so far, but I was surprised by how much I understood :-) I will be sure to catch up with the rest of them.
    By the way, I am intrigued by the (superficial) similarity between certain words in Spanish and my native Russian -- Spanish words like sueño, cada, temprano, viejo/nuevo, noche/día and many others have very similarly sounding Russian/Ukrainian counterparts that would make a direct translation.

    • @LightSpeedSpanishChannel

      Dmitry. I work with many people from the Czech Republic and they too have many words that are similar to Spanish....very interesting, ¿verdad?

    ¡Hola a todos! it may also help some of you to turn-on the subtitles during this converstion. If you go to the settings 'wheel' at the bottom of the video picture you can turn-on spanish subtitles and can help to understand what is being said. Buena suerte!

    Miro tus clases de español avanzado con frecuencia. Y me preguntaba si la gente en España hablan en esa tasa de velocidad en sus videos avanzados.

    • @LightSpeedSpanishChannel
      @LightSpeedSpanishChannel  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Todo depende de la persona, Max. Para nuestros vídeos, nos controlamos bastante para no hablar demasiado rápido. Hay gente que habla el doble o el triple de rápido.

    • @maxgamer965
      @maxgamer965 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gracias por la información. Por lo menos sé cuando voy a España voy a esperar para ser lanzado en 2 o 3 veces más rápido que su velocidad. Gracias por tus vídeos, y sigan con el buen trabajo!

  • @DesertMidnight

    Una pregunta, por favor.... in the help sheets for this lesson when you say "en mi mente, antes de ir, yo imagino visitar el pueblo y ver, "... "In my mind, before going, I imagine visiting the village and seeing "..... I thought when you had the gerund... the ing ending of a word you would add ndo to the infinitive. So I would think that "ir" would be 'to go' or 'go' not "before going" and then the "ver" verb would be not "seeing" but "to see"........ can you please correct me or explain this to me? Porque ¡en mi mente es mucha confusión! Gracias Gordon Y Cynthia!

    • @LightSpeedSpanishChannel
      @LightSpeedSpanishChannel  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Cat Woman Great question. The reason we say Antes de ir and NOT antes de yendo is because when a verb follows a Preposition, it is always in the Infinitive form. Antes de comer = before eating. Después de llegar. = After arriving. No salgas sin decírmelo. = Don't leave without telling me it. This rule, once you get it logged in will vastly improve your Spanish and make everything easier.

    At 2:30, what is the word Gorden uses when he says "Que sueles hacer"? At least I think that is what I heard. I put "sueles" through google translate and it will translate from Italian.

    • @LightSpeedSpanishChannel
      @LightSpeedSpanishChannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      soler + verb = usually + verb = what do you usually do? ¿Qué sueles hacer?

    Is "Vale" a Spanish word of "Arabic" origin? (Like, Rice, Olive Oil...)
    Thank you for your help. Peace and Love

    • @LightSpeedSpanishChannel
      @LightSpeedSpanishChannel  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Naghi Astnei The word Vale originally comes from Latin and it was the last word for people departing (dead ) like a farewell or to mean "I'm in a greement" at the end of a discussion. Vale, literally means "keep well" but now it just means Okay.

      @LightSpeedSpanishChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no half beginner :) It's difficult to really measure someone's level because we all have our skills, so some people get different concepts at different speeds. Just watch this video again in a couple of weeks and check the differnce from the first time ;)
