i have 3 theories to the devil fruit stealing: 1: The Yami Yami no Mi, Blackbeard said that his fruit has the power to pull in devil fruit powers during the fight vs Ace. perhaps the ment that literally. it just cancels out when the user is alive, but when the user is dead he can absorb and redistribute the powers. the Titanic Captain's just bring the barely alive if not dead users to Blackbeard to draw out the powers. 2: Cannibalism, The way Big Mom was implied to have obtained her devil fruit was by eating mother Carmel. and it would then make sense why Burgess tried to rush Sabo with a knife. he was trying to cut a part of him and then eat it, maybe then the devil fruit essence will be split between two users? who knows. 3: The Fruit method already shown in the series.

Hey tekking101, I had one theory that may be relevant to the whole Blackbeard with 2 devil fruits. My theory is Dr. Vegapunk has been able to connect some Devil Fruits to some inanimate objects, but his only limit is that he achieved doing this only with Zoan-type fruits. But what if Blackbeard somehow found a way to do that with Paramisha, and he never ate Whitebeards devil fruit. Then he could transfer the Gura Gura no mi into one of the rings on his left hand. This was shown when he used both fruits at the same time during the end of the marineford arc.

If Blackbeard can have 3 powers he should look after: any logia (not the yami yami because he cant dodge with that), the clear clear fruit, and the calm calm fruit. Then he would be invisible, unhearable, and untouchable. If he then takes a shower from time to time he would be like super strong.
Late to the show but how is this for a combo?: Soru Soru no Mi; Hana Hana no Mi (Eliminate the range issue with sprouted hands); Kage Kage no Mi. You take the entire lifespan and shadows of 2+ enemies from a distance using Hana Hana no Mi sprouted hands (this step can basically scale to everyone within the range of the Hana Hana no Mi's abilities you want dead), then you put the shadows into corpses that aren't their own, making a corresponding amount of Zombies to enemies killed, then use the Souls to create a *second* corresponding amount of Homies to enemies killed, effectively double-dipping and gaining 2x however many enemies you slay in minions. Alternatively, replace the Hana Han no Mi with the Yami Yami no Mi to allow you to steal DF for your crew like in canon, then give someone Ceaser's Logia and have them make a "Fear Causing Gas" so everyone fulfils the fear criteria of the Soru Soru no Mi. Steal and give a second crewmate the Door Fruit so everywhere is in arms distance (and Gas distance) through a door the user can make for you. Now go hunting for DF while forging an ever-expanding army that you can keep in the darkness of the Yami Yami no Mi where sunlight isn't a threat...

I think it was to expand the lore a little bit on devil fruit reincarnation. We knew that the soul left the person and enters the nearest fruit, but its very interesting to learn that if the DF user dies inside somebody else, that person can become the new vessel for the DF. It gives us some information to speculate with regarding Blackbeard and his method for stealing fruits. I find it very likely that the blanket that was thrown over Whitebeard at his death was to allow Blackbeard to go full darkness logia transformation, completely enveloping whitebeard and becoming the new vessel for the Gura Gura fruit. It would make sense that Blackbeard can't transform into darkness unless all light sources are blocked.

New alliances will be formed and lines drawn. It’s basically setting the stage for the new era to really take off. The highest likelihood of death is honestly probably Xdrake. We’ve never gotten to know a whole lot about him but it would be another thing to push koby to a higher level given we know they’re in sword together and it’s apparently a very small group. Koby has had great development but the time is coming for him to need to be at least a step or two down from admiral level with the way all the pirates have been getting so powerful.

The problem i have is who exactly are the crew members that will be recieving these op devil fruits? Of course we already know of the 10 commanders of Black beard, but we don't anybody on their crew. So we are basically in the unknown right now of any other strong Black Beard crew members. It will be very important for Oda to start introducing all the main members that are not the 10 titans.
Those fruits aren't exactly broken, they're weak power ups but if used creatively and trained long enough they become incredibly strong. It's the same deal with Luffy, the Rubber fruit doesn't grant Luffy's abilities it only grants the ability to turn your body into rubber, what you do with it is based on creativity and training.
Also it doesn’t seem as though power is their main concern they fight using dirty tactics so fruits that allow them to be deceptive are gonna be the way to go for them

They used the knife. The same knife Burgess used to try to kill Sabo. They explained that you can't eat the fruit if you are already a user. The knife extracts it from the stomach and you drink it.
Dev On No. Haki was introduced mainly to counter how overpowered Logias were, and to hurt DF users efficiently. It really doesn't negate the power itself. Also, you have to realize that not everyone has Haki, it is difficult to learn and harder to master. For all we know, rusting swords isn't the only thing that fruit can do, but I believe Oda added it just to kill off Yubashiri (I think that's how it is spelled).

I do think that Marco's Phoenix fruit would be a prime target, but I do think there is a big plot hole with it. That being after The Marineford War, the Remnants of the Whitebeard pirates fought off against the Blackbeard pirates and lost. I would assume that Marco would've been defeated, so why wouldn't they have taken his devil fruit right there and then? We know they didn't because in the manga we see Marco healing (an animal I want to say) with his blue flames. So they didn't steal his devil fruit. The only thing I can think of as to why they didn't is because Oda either forgot that they could take powers, or that he didn't want Marco to lose his power. Idk for certain, but the plot hole still has to be discussed.

Unless it needs to be a specific fruit, then it'd be near impossible to know which fruit is right for each devil fruit, then blackbeard'd have to use his special method to extract it. Maybe they just killed Absalom afterwards because he would never be loyal to them.

I think the method that Blackbeard is using to obtain devil fruits is by eating the hearts of those that have devil fruit powers once they are dead. Both cases involved corpses ( whitebeard and absalom). And whitebeard already had a huge scar through his chest. Maybe this is the reason Blackbeard covered whiteboards body in order to conceal what he did so that others would not replicate it along with how gruesome the technique behind it is.

15:50 I am a year late, but as I understand devil fruits you need the exact same fruit for it to incarnate into. So a fruit that has the basic shape of an apple needs an apple to reincarnate. Which means you can't just have a fruit in your left, kill the devil fruit user with your right and you get his devil fruit. Because if that was the case, devil fruit hunting would have been a thing way before blackbeard.
The Baku Baku no Mi would be my top priority. Being able to make things like wapometal means you're instantly rich, and being able to fuse materials and items into people means you can in theory make yourself, and your allies, hard counters to every other devil fruit you go hunting for. An example would be giving your entire crew rubber bodies while going after Enel. The fruit also lets you fuse people together, so technically you wouldn't even need to steal devil fruit powers. The owner of this fruit could just eat someone with a fruit, eat the person they want to give the fruit to, fuse them together, and now his ally will not only have the devil fruit, but will have the strength and abilities of the original fruit own fused into them as well. Oh, and the fruit user can somehow eat themselves to restructure their bodies, which can prove very useful too. In fact, you could in theory live forever doing that, by just eating yourself and then creating a younger version of yourself each time.
An Awakened Bomb Bomb Fruit user would be practically unstoppable. Turn everything in the surrounding area into a bomb, even the very air itself and no one is ever getting near you unless they had top tier sniping abilities.
I would place a fairly large bet that in order to steal someone's devil fruit powers, you have to eat their heart. I think that's what Blackbeard did and I think that's how Big Mom got hers as well.

i have 3 theories to the devil fruit stealing:
1: The Yami Yami no Mi, Blackbeard said that his fruit has the power to pull in devil fruit powers during the fight vs Ace. perhaps the ment that literally. it just cancels out when the user is alive, but when the user is dead he can absorb and redistribute the powers. the Titanic Captain's just bring the barely alive if not dead users to Blackbeard to draw out the powers.
2: Cannibalism, The way Big Mom was implied to have obtained her devil fruit was by eating mother Carmel. and it would then make sense why Burgess tried to rush Sabo with a knife. he was trying to cut a part of him and then eat it, maybe then the devil fruit essence will be split between two users? who knows.

Hey tekking101, I had one theory that may be relevant to the whole Blackbeard with 2 devil fruits. My theory is Dr. Vegapunk has been able to connect some Devil Fruits to some inanimate objects, but his only limit is that he achieved doing this only with Zoan-type fruits. But what if Blackbeard somehow found a way to do that with Paramisha, and he never ate Whitebeards devil fruit. Then he could transfer the Gura Gura no mi into one of the rings on his left hand. This was shown when he used both fruits at the same time during the end of the marineford arc.

Late to the show but how is this for a combo?: Soru Soru no Mi; Hana Hana no Mi (Eliminate the range issue with sprouted hands); Kage Kage no Mi.
You take the entire lifespan and shadows of 2+ enemies from a distance using Hana Hana no Mi sprouted hands (this step can basically scale to everyone within the range of the Hana Hana no Mi's abilities you want dead), then you put the shadows into corpses that aren't their own, making a corresponding amount of Zombies to enemies killed, then use the Souls to create a *second* corresponding amount of Homies to enemies killed, effectively double-dipping and gaining 2x however many enemies you slay in minions.
Alternatively, replace the Hana Han no Mi with the Yami Yami no Mi to allow you to steal DF for your crew like in canon, then give someone Ceaser's Logia and have them make a "Fear Causing Gas" so everyone fulfils the fear criteria of the Soru Soru no Mi. Steal and give a second crewmate the Door Fruit so everywhere is in arms distance (and Gas distance) through a door the user can make for you. Now go hunting for DF while forging an ever-expanding army that you can keep in the darkness of the Yami Yami no Mi where sunlight isn't a threat...

I think it was to expand the lore a little bit on devil fruit reincarnation. We knew that the soul left the person and enters the nearest fruit, but its very interesting to learn that if the DF user dies inside somebody else, that person can become the new vessel for the DF. It gives us some information to speculate with regarding Blackbeard and his method for stealing fruits. I find it very likely that the blanket that was thrown over Whitebeard at his death was to allow Blackbeard to go full darkness logia transformation, completely enveloping whitebeard and becoming the new vessel for the Gura Gura fruit. It would make sense that Blackbeard can't transform into darkness unless all light sources are blocked.

We’ve never gotten to know a whole lot about him but it would be another thing to push koby to a higher level given we know they’re in sword together and it’s apparently a very small group. Koby has had great development but the time is coming for him to need to be at least a step or two down from admiral level with the way all the pirates have been getting so powerful.

The problem i have is who exactly are the crew members that will be recieving these op devil fruits? Of course we already know of the 10 commanders of Black beard, but we don't anybody on their crew. So we are basically in the unknown right now of any other strong Black Beard crew members. It will be very important for Oda to start introducing all the main members that are not the 10 titans.
Those fruits aren't exactly broken, they're weak power ups but if used creatively and trained long enough they become incredibly strong.
It's the same deal with Luffy, the Rubber fruit doesn't grant Luffy's abilities it only grants the ability to turn your body into rubber, what you do with it is based on creativity and training.
Also it doesn’t seem as though power is their main concern they fight using dirty tactics so fruits that allow them to be deceptive are gonna be the way to go for them

Dev On No. Haki was introduced mainly to counter how overpowered Logias were, and to hurt DF users efficiently. It really doesn't negate the power itself. Also, you have to realize that not everyone has Haki, it is difficult to learn and harder to master. For all we know, rusting swords isn't the only thing that fruit can do, but I believe Oda added it just to kill off Yubashiri (I think that's how it is spelled).

I do think that Marco's Phoenix fruit would be a prime target, but I do think there is a big plot hole with it.
That being after The Marineford War, the Remnants of the Whitebeard pirates fought off against the Blackbeard pirates and lost. I would assume that Marco would've been defeated, so why wouldn't they have taken his devil fruit right there and then? We know they didn't because in the manga we see Marco healing (an animal I want to say) with his blue flames. So they didn't steal his devil fruit.
The only thing I can think of as to why they didn't is because Oda either forgot that they could take powers, or that he didn't want Marco to lose his power. Idk for certain, but the plot hole still has to be discussed.

I think the method that Blackbeard is using to obtain devil fruits is by eating the hearts of those that have devil fruit powers once they are dead. Both cases involved corpses ( whitebeard and absalom). And whitebeard already had a huge scar through his chest. Maybe this is the reason Blackbeard covered whiteboards body in order to conceal what he did so that others would not replicate it along with how gruesome the technique behind it is.

There has to be a reason for us to know the shape of the Yami Yami, and a reason for it to be so similar to the Gomu Gomu no Mi.

Bara Bara: To explain why Buggy hates Shanks

Mera Mera: To reintroduce Sabo

15:50 I am a year late, but as I understand devil fruits you need the exact same fruit for it to incarnate into. So a fruit that has the basic shape of an apple needs an apple to reincarnate. Which means you can't just have a fruit in your left, kill the devil fruit user with your right and you get his devil fruit. Because if that was the case, devil fruit hunting would have been a thing way before blackbeard.
The Baku Baku no Mi would be my top priority. Being able to make things like wapometal means you're instantly rich, and being able to fuse materials and items into people means you can in theory make yourself, and your allies, hard counters to every other devil fruit you go hunting for. An example would be giving your entire crew rubber bodies while going after Enel. The fruit also lets you fuse people together, so technically you wouldn't even need to steal devil fruit powers. The owner of this fruit could just eat someone with a fruit, eat the person they want to give the fruit to, fuse them together, and now his ally will not only have the devil fruit, but will have the strength and abilities of the original fruit own fused into them as well. Oh, and the fruit user can somehow eat themselves to restructure their bodies, which can prove very useful too. In fact, you could in theory live forever doing that, by just eating yourself and then creating a younger version of yourself each time.
