Popeye and Olive Oyl cover "Oriental Swing" (by Lil Hardin Armstrong - 1938)

A new Cookie Monster video might be on the horizon! But for now, here's something a little different. I know, I know... by 2020 standards the lyrics are not exactly culturally sensitive. And neither are many of the early Popeye cartoons. But if you're like me and you love old music and classic animation, maybe you'll get some enjoyment out of this!
For me it's like a glimpse into the TH-cam content from an alternative timeline, where maybe Nikola Tesla invented the Internet in the 1930's.

Only problem is Geisha Girls can't say Amelican, as Japanese have trouble with the letter L and substitute it with R. Lamian became Ramen for this reason. Also in WWII Pacific theater, the password used for identification of Friendlies was Lollapalooza, because the Japanese Soldiers could only say it as Raraparooza. Another example is Japanese Lemonade is called Ramune.
