Met my wife swing dancing 20 years ago. Danced all the time, out 3x a week at our peak. 15 years later, she was diagnosed with dementia, and we still danced. Arranged for a group of swing dancers to perform for her and some of the other residents at the facility where I had to place her after six years of caring for her. I managed to get in one last swing dance with my girl in April 2019. She passed away last month in June. On her headstone is the line from City of God, " Let us turn our tears into dancing.".
It's actually gonna be hard, cardi b and a lot of other celebrities can't just stop what they're doing because a majority of fans love what they do and many fans prefer what they're making right now
But on second thought, they could ask their fans if they want classic (but not all modern artists could do that because they would still need to learn how to make that sort of music)
Gardening Hoe Either that or we could just see a rise of separate Electro Swing/Jazz artists enter the limelight more in the 2020s (like Jamie Berry and Parov Stelar)
Yeah, but I'm sure alot of girls don't want to wear those dresses and alot of guys don't want to wear those suits either .. It's only the aesthetic you enjoy. Like how people want a pet dog but only because it's cute and they don't really want to care for it.

Was introduced to chill trap music just a few days ago by my sister, stumbled upon Caravan Palace and been falling deeper into the electro-swing world. I feel so blessed to be able to find the genre. God bless these electro-swing musicians.
Electronic remixing, which makes this song, did not exist in any reasonable extent until some 30 years ago, and the genre "Electro-Swing" is less than a decade old.
7 years ago me and my wife did "first dance" (it is a tradition in Poland to take a first dance for newly wed ppl) to this song. One of the best tunes I have ever heard in my life. We dance to it whenever one of us plays it - it's beautiful, and I hope every one of you will find your second half to dance with, just as I did

+Briana Mia - "miss the days when people actually used to dance!!!! this looks like so much fun!!!" Yes! I miss the days when we saw so many movies with accomplished dance routines such as this one. I mean, this requires an *astoundingly* high level of skill and talent plus hours and hours of practice. Some of these famous dance routines were filmed as single takes - from start to finish, no stopping. "Now do it again." Other directors used multiple cameras and multiple takes and the dance routine tooks days - even weeks - to film, before they were edited into a seamless 5 minute or so sequence. The stamina required boggles the mind!
+artsbeatla I think she really meant that this style of dancing and other styles such as ballroom dancing etc. have gone out of fashion with young people and she wishes they were still so popular because it looks like a serious amount of fun
Nice dance sequence to the song. They make it look so effortless but that's hard work. Ha, the gentleman at the beginning who is asked to "have a seat while I show you how it's done" is British actor Eric Blore. He was in 5 of the 9 Fred/Ginger movies : Flying Down to Rio, The Gay Divorcee, Top Hat, Swing Time and Shall We Dance. I can't recall which one this is. He looks different here, doesn't usually have the moustache. Often plays a valet or gentleman's gentleman, waiter etc... Funny guy.....Thanks for making the vid.
The most impressive is that it "looks" like he's leading the whole dance, but great God Ginger Rogers is doing a crazy ass job dancing on heels with that ease and lightness, looking like she's just getting led while she's mastering the whole thing.
She is lead, it doesnt just looks like it. She definately mastered the part, but most of her balance comes in acompany with fred's balance. The way you say that sounds as if being lead makes one somehow inferior.

And if they DID break, the take ended up on the cutting room floor. Interesting to compare the style it forces on her, in that video, though. Astaire (as always) is just so loose, relaxed and effortless; Rogers has to stay much more precise and controlled by comparison. What caught my eye in particular is whenever cross over behind and toe-tap (there's a sequence 26 seconds in, for example); Astaire does a HUGE cross-over - 18 inches or more - whereas Rogers is a very discrete, lady-like (but, more importantly, stable) 2-3 inches. And Astaire frequently sways way out of the vertical - which Rogers barely does at all unless she's supported, for obvious reasons. But the really big thing about the two of them is that I never really find myself watching one to the exclusion of the other. That's a mark of greatness.
Rebooker Booker The joke was a secondary realization, the first was simply that people saying Panty is an uncomfortable experience for everyone involved
This is by far one of my most favorite song to listen to, I listen to this song everyday even in school. As a gentleman with high class and someone who is in love with the 1800s and 1900s I'm addicted to this bad boy of a century!
yOU HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA HOW LONG I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THIS SONG. YOU JUST DONT KNOW. HOW HARD I HAVE BEEN LOOKING. THERE WAS A TALENT SHOW AT MY SCHOOL ON JUNE 13TH AND SOME GIRL WAS TWIRLING A BATON TO THIS FUCKING SONG. EVER SINCE I HAVE WANTED TO FIND IT BECAUSE OH MY GOD IT IS SO CATCHY. IM SO HAPPY. IM SO FUCKING HAPPY. ( and so fucking sorry you had to read through that )
She trained excessively and took a lot of pain to look so professional. She said once in an interview after a scene in one of her astaire/rogers films the back of her heels were drenched in her blood where she had done so many takes.
It's not really that hard. As a follow, you are almost always on your toes, so as long as the heel fits well enough that your heel doesn't slip, and as long as the heel isn't too tall, it's fine. I often find it a bit easier to dance in heels, because they force my weight forward and keep me on my toes. For modern dancers, there are clear elastic straps that you put around your shoe and foot to help keep shoes on. I also use them when I'm riding my scooter with shoes that have a tendency to slip off!
I love it how her dresses spin! When I was a kid and my mum was about to make (or buy) me a dress or a skirt, I always said: But it has to spin! I'm 32 now and it is still important. And makes me ridiculously happy when my skirt or dress spins.
We gotta get Electro swing mainstream this decade. Happy Twenties everyone Edit: (December 30,2020) I am sorry everyone. What a terrible year it has been for the world. Hope you are all safe wherever you are 🙏
Fun fact, Alastor from Hazbin Hotel died around 1933, which means that there is a good chance that this exact style of music is what played on his radio show.
First, know I love you very much right now and you have very good tastes. Second, if you want be my personal hero, can you tell me what the name of the dance is? I learn 20 min ago than it's not fox trot.
In one film she wore a dress that had glass beads on fringes. When she spun around with her arms out the beaded fringes became like cat 'o nine tails and whipped Astair in his hand and sliced the skin open. He kept dancing though and finished the take. These ppl suffered for their art.
shit where have i been????????just loving electro swing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!cant get enough.....love to dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thank you parov so glad i came across this..
Funfact: Parov Stelar aka Marcus Füreder is from Linz, the same city the father of Fred Astaire immigrated from into the US. That man makes me proud being an upper-austrian.

Cause she is god
Because they used to be made in America not China!! Lol
Top 10 Questions Science still can't Answer
He's damn good, but she's in HEELS!
IKR! exactly my thought.
The but there annoys me, they’re both extraordinary dancers. I see people dancing in higher heels than that even.
And Fred is wearing co-respondents shoes.
Or spats.
Rebooker Booker
Yes I have been known to be a petty Panty but hey if I’m any type of underwear it’s a pain in someone’s ass.
Rebooker Booker
The joke was a secondary realization, the first was simply that people saying Panty is an uncomfortable experience for everyone involved
That beautiful leap over the railing at the end. 😘Loved the song, too!
This is some real dancing!
What do you mean? I thought dancing was having sex with your clothes on??
Chris Legaspi what lol
Jeroen van den Raadt That's what society would have you think.
she's in heels too what the hell
She would sometimes dance in shoes wet with shoe dye. Fred was a real task master too, so they had to dance until it was perfect.
electro swing and classical music is my favorite
Zoe Enos IKR right
lmao
eyy lmao
slimey toast same
And undertale music is so good
This has gotta be the most stylish dance i have ever seen.
If ever there was something to be called "lit". Its this dance right here.
Right?? I am so fucking sad this ain't popular anymore, it is so goddamn classy and looks like so much fun!
God with a capital G It’s from the movie Swing Time if you want to check it out.
This is by far one of my most favorite song to listen to, I listen to this song everyday even in school. As a gentleman with high class and someone who is in love with the 1800s and 1900s I'm addicted to this bad boy of a century!
Yep. Beat your woman!
This is probably one of my most favorite electro swing songs so far.
1:50 is my favorite part since both dancers literally JUMP over the fencing twice while still dancing.
where can I learn to dance like that?!
you could take classes I guess
Lameashellcosplay thx, bud 😊
+Blazachael Shaw it's a mixture of tap and ballroom. You could also try swing dancing, it's easier to get into :)
***** thank you for your knowledge 😆
+Hannah Russen yeah I did I dance just like this to this song it was so fun!
EXPLODING KITTENS!!! The intro song for the demon cat (can’t spell name ;-;) was so cool :D

I hate when u cant find a song so i know how u feel haha
Especially when in the first place you couldnt understand the lyrics, so you couldnt really do any google-ing that would help!
That guys shoes are dope.

DaDangerDog up with the same thing as addy
Andrew Santoro thanks 😏
they're called spectator shoes
DaDangerDog Very
HOW can she dance with heels?!
Edit:I just want to say her first dress looks nice.
Well that fast
Mine Turtle it takes a lot of training
She trained excessively and took a lot of pain to look so professional. She said once in an interview after a scene in one of her astaire/rogers films the back of her heels were drenched in her blood where she had done so many takes.
i looked yesterday a reporter in high heles and also ride an skate, womans in heel highs are dangerous
What just happened! I've never heard this kind of music before!
I should be asleep by now, instead I'm dancing to this.
I AM HOOKED!!!! BIG TIME!!!!!
If you like EDM and love this track, then you might love the track below ;)

This genre is called electric or electronic swing!
Try "Caravan Palace": Dramaphone or Dragon, good songs. ;)
I'm in the ssame boat...I cannot stop listening.
Ivan Arce Or Star Scat, and The Dirty Side of The Street. Both excellent
Wish I could find a guy who’d dance with me like that
Yeah same but only if I could dance like that 😅 i would fall on my Face🙂🤣

Феноменально! Легко! Непринужденно и Нежно!
Браво и низкий поклон!
We gotta get Electro swing mainstream this decade. Happy Twenties everyone
Edit: (December 30,2020) I am sorry everyone. What a terrible year it has been for the world. Hope you are all safe wherever you are 🙏
Yes, please! 👏👏👏
Wishful thinking
yes, such a happy start.
Its dieing
Listen to commercials. Electro swing is everywhere on them.
In case anyone wants to know, the lyrics and some music is from the song “Oriental Swing” by Lil’ Hardin Armstrong, a past wife of Louis Armstrong
5 years ago hospitalized, without knowing that I suffered and lost the movement of my body, I listened again and again to this song ...
I'm sorry, dude. That must be difficult to go through. God bless!
Keep doing what ya love bro
That electro swing makes the lame swing! Gg brother! Keep jammin yeah!?!?
Keep jamming you're amazing I love you!
Geez man, I’m really sorry about that. God Bless your soul.
Thank you Exploding Kittens

Jajajajaja I
Lol i really enjoy this genre of music, is really good.
Its called electro swing
YceDUBSTEP Ya, very different from dubstep
TheJerbol electro swing + dubstep = Gramatik :p
YceDUBSTEP Yeah, me too, I just got into this yesterday. Funky, right?
***** If would've read the comment correctly, you'd see that he was saying that Gramatik uses electro swing and dubstep.
0:24 - 0:42
The perfect music for the villain to swagger into a party/club.
Clever Comment Exactly!
It almost reminds me of Bowser's theme from Super Mario Bros 3D World
It really is, holy shit.
Good old Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers
Rodgers was the bomb man
+Thomas Toledo yes she was
Didn't she star in like eight movies
+Thomas Toledo something like that
Simon & Garfunkel that's what attracted me to this song. An image of their beautiful dancing in the thumbnail.
In her biography, Ginger Rogers said filming these dance scenes, for hours and hours, would kill her feet!
I Wonder why :P
In one film she wore a dress that had glass beads on fringes. When she spun around with her arms out the beaded fringes became like cat 'o nine tails and whipped Astair in his hand and sliced the skin open. He kept dancing though and finished the take. These ppl suffered for their art.
@@skylx0812 Bless these people.
I'm so impressed she can dance so well in those shoes 😄👏✨
She did everything Fred Astaire did, but backwards and in high heels ;-)
Like she's flying over the floor!
I can dance in them too.
I heard her dress was also weighted so it would spin like that
@@galatea4022 No, it's already extremely complicated to just WALK with them so dancing in heels is impressive
For anyone interested, the original song was by Hardin Armstrong, and that video is a montage of clips from the movie 'swing time'
I love this so much. Thanks to whomever put this together. it’s euphoric
It's 2019.
Let's make this the genre of the 2020's.
After all, the '20's is returning.
I'm down with this
That would be so epic
Hello there, it's 2020
It wasn't when I made the comment Ein.
Even the disease outbreak part returned...
Electroswing is pretty awesome.
I’m a dude but that black dress looks so soft and flowy and I wanna dance in it.

Error 404 Where can you get lessons?
Error 404 might take years to dance like that xD
The nostalgia I got when I heard this in Exploding Kittens. So good to hear this song after 8 years!
I cannot give this enough likes. I just... the pure talent... its almost like craftsmanship in a way.
;) more than that :)
My art teacher played this for our class in 10th grade. I'm 23 now and still love and remember this song
Parov stelar lived next to me and I know him and his whole family but I never knew he was actually Parov stelar it’s crazy
Funfact: Parov Stelar aka Marcus Füreder is from Linz, the same city the father of Fred Astaire immigrated from into the US. That man makes me proud being an upper-austrian.
Awesome fact thanks!
awesome!!!
These women are matching his footwork while wearing heels. Let that sink in, just impressive.
"The world is a stage and the stage is a world of entertainment."- Alastor
"All the world's indeed a stage" - Rush
Didn't the world is a stage originally come from Shakespeare in Macbeth?
YES!! I LOVE U.
oh man you guessed exactly why I’m here
Ha! No
I think Electro-Swing will become very famous next time. Great song.
it is right now ;-)
