Kudos to Ethiopia, a country I will strive to visit in my lifetime. We must be honest among Africans: our cities have become so stressful with the traffic jams, the motorcycles, the hustling, the pressures of life becoming harder and harder. And it seems like we are totalling ignorant on the benefits of calm and relaxing in nature. Neither our city administrators or the general public care. For so many of us relaxing means drinking beer in a setting of loud music or going to churches where they play also loud music. The number of mental diseases will surely skyrocket in Africa in the near future unless city dwellers get ways to reconnect with nature.

Bros, I am one of among 296 employees working for Ethiopian Airlines currently with 18 Nigerians deployed in Yokohama Japan at the headquarters of Ethiopian Airlines cargo division for Southeast asia. Before I was transferred to Japan, I was living and working in Ethiopia, by far 10000 times Ethiopia is far better than Nigeria. They have 24 hrs electricity, very secured , free medical care in government hospitals which is even very modern than private clinics and free medicines for poors or people with less income. They have excellent modern police force in Africa and their Airlines is number 23 among the top 100 Airlines in the world. The best African airport, the best train connection etc...Nigeria is the worst nation in the world.

Most African politicians cannot allow such vast prime land to lie idle in their capital cities. It would instantly be grabbed & sold to greedy developers who would then build apartments, hotels etc....And finally an unplanned concrete jungle slum would be the end result. Kudos to Ethiopia for thinking about the holistic wellbeing of its citizens.

the same is true in Ethiopia but the area you see is near the palace where the prime minister lives and the area was a slum so in order to keep safe they evicted the poor residents. But it turned out good for the city and overall residents.

This is the other issue with Africans. Always caring what the West thinks of us. It's like a complex, wanting to be accepted by the popular kid who wants nothing to do with you. We need to stop caring and just do us. Prosper and build ourselves first and be proud of who we are.

@@Aquagirl-in6wr We live on one planet, one global village, and at this moment in time, rules by the West. When we fight, we not only should fight hard, but smart. Propaganda on all sides is the biggest weapon in a war. At the moment, the propaganda are that Africa/Africans are backward, lazy, unintelligent, wasteland, beggars, scammers, ugly, just to name a few.
