    Love that new intro! And that shirt! Man, that speaks volumes to how we might,if inspired to operate on earth. Sure would help on so many levels. Service to others and Act in kindness wherever possible. Pass it forward. Expect nothing back. That’s another video. Excellent message though. Now as Paul Harvey would say. “Now the rest of the story”. You got a great backrest. Probably the most comfortable on the market due to it’s bigger foot print across the back and the nice feature of a portable satchel. That looked pretty cool. Would definitely be handy. I went with the Show Chrome. Although a tad smaller, it’s angular shape and stitching design aesthetically went nicely with the Wing’s angular looks and passenger backrest design. It’s plenty comfortable and also has a detachable pouch. But not as slick as your’s. Shoulder strap and a bit larger. Nice job on the install. Ride safe and often. ATGATT

    Hey Robert! I too have a 2023 red dct tour that I purchased a month ago. Mine has all of 300 miles on it so far. I chose to go with a Honda line backrest, particularly after getting offered a decent discount on one that was a new cycle take-off that the dealer had. I had to adjust it about as far forward as it would go, and that, in conjunction with the Helibar risers I also installed, seem to work well for my height of 5' 9". Thanks for the video's. Keep them coming.

      Thank you Marvin.. we are the same height. I have the Helibar risers and look forward to using this back rest... from the quick test ride this morning it felt pretty nice! Ride Safe!!

    I have had that same backrest on my Valk for 24 years, and it is still going strong!
    Paired with my highway pegs and riding is more comfortable that driving most cars.

    I have the same backrest. I love it. Yes the seats will mark up by just looking at them!! I step on the left floorboard with my left foot and just toss my right leg over. Much easier and no marks.

    Hi Robert well done! Tip use gaffer’s tape to hold those bolts in place. We have resisted a back rest, had had no idea the Utopia product existed. Given the extra storage of the man bag we will now get a back rest for our 2018 GOLDWING Tour 6-Speed. Thank you!

    Thank you for the Utopia backrest install video. I heard about the Utopia after installing a ShowChrome backrest. The ShowChrome looks good and is a quality part; however, as far as I can tell, the ShowChrome doesn’t allow forward/backward adjustment and it sits too far back for me. At 6’ my arms are too stretched out when I’m comfortably against that backrest. I saw Cruiseman using and liking the ShowChrome, but he’s 6’2”, so that makes sense. The Utopia looks to be exactly what I need. Lastly, the seat on my ‘23 GW Tour is also showing the “unbuffable” scratches where I let my boot rake the seat a couple of times. I’ve tried everything I can think of and, just as you mentioned, they don’t come out. Weird that Honda would go with a seat cover that scratches so easily. Other than that, love the bike! Keep up the great videos!

      I was surprised as well, regarding the seat cover. I just purchased a new 2024 Goldwing Tour DCT the week before Christmas...it's gorgeous and I even find the seat itself to my liking. Contrary to many reviews on these stock seats, I find it provides a perfect seating position and it's quite comfortable for both me and the Mrs (rider & pillion) through the first couple thousand kms of riding. Having 3 other motorcycles which I'm used to mounting and dismounting and this one being brand new, I managed to drag my boot across this new seat the first day when I rode it home from the dealer. I noticed the scuffs of course, but thought nothing of it...that they would just buff out. I find it kind of shocking that Honda would not Q/C this new seat fabric for this type of instant wear, on an otherwise amazing motorcycle which they charge top dollar for. Perhaps they reviewed the many complaints they had from customers on the comfort of the stock seat and figured everyone would just automatically replace it anyway with an aftermarket seat like an Ultimate, etc? I cant think of any other reason for going with in the first place, and then sticking with this fabric for 2024 models.

    Thanks for the video. I just installed one on my 2021 B. Good quality and the 2021 orange stitching matching my stock seat stiching and pin stripes. Nice touch. I adjusted mine to where it just stays upright and so far its enough support. No long trips yet though.

    Utopia is a great seat..had one on my 2010.The only negative is not being able to stand up while riding without the backrest flopping forward.

    • @robertwhitemoto
      @robertwhitemoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m finding that to be true! Also, a back rest in general on a bumpy road accents the bumps. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for the video. I just purchased the Sport version of the Utopia backrest for my 2020 DCT. Haven't put it on yet but looking forward to having it. I also purchased the quick connect bracket so hoping that goes on easy but can't find a video of the quick release being mounted.

      I have found that the backrest has good and bad points. While it helps with long ride comfort and bike stability… in the short term it amplifies the bumps in the road.

    I love my Utopia back rest, had to adjust it forward a little bit, have no problems with the seat so far, the wind off Lake Michigan won’t let me get out on the scooter recently

    • @robertwhitemoto
      @robertwhitemoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wind is a bit un-nerving on these big machines I'll admit!... I started out with the backrest adjusted forward but have moved it back twice now to where my rear is firmly planted in the seat bucket and the back rest is supportive but not pushing me forward. I really like it.

    I've got the factory Backrest, I thought it was great when I 1st purchased it, but after riding with it for over a I'm having second thoughts ,the upper support is minimal. Thinking about changing to a more supportive backrest.

    hi from South Africa 🇿🇦. enjoying your videos.....did you consider the original backrest from Honda? it looks like it has a "neater" and slimmer fit, but was wondering how it actually feels?
    what convinced you to choose Etopia?

    • @robertwhitemoto
      @robertwhitemoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Zunaid, thank you for watching. South Africa wow.. I must visit south Africa with my camera some day :) The honda backrest is a fine piece of equipment and yes I considered it. I felt it was too small for my needs. Most customer reviews I saw preferred the Utopia. I also like how adjustable the Utopia back rest is. I can't speak to the comfort or fit of the Honda backrest because I've never sat on a bike that had one installed. Thanks for watching and commenting !!

    Robert, nice work but you didn't place the T-nuts in the proper location. That's why you had difficulty getting the bolts to engage the fasteners. There are slots that they slide into above where you placed them.

    • @robertwhitemoto
      @robertwhitemoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert thank you that makes total sense now that you say it. Next time I’m under the seat I will correct that!! Thank you for watching and for the help!
