  • Back by popular demand... a conversation with my Dad about vintage baseball cards. We discuss tons of topics, which include: attending the upcoming National, grading companies, his background with cards, big deals he's made, and more!! It's always fun talking about cards, but it's especially fun with my Dad. I have a handful of questions for him, and I also have some special questions from others in the card community as well, including my friends David, Darren ‪@returntocollecting‬ , and Mookie ‪@mookiechillson‬ . If you're interested in having your question asked to my Dad for an upcoming episode, don't hesitate to ask your question in the comments of this video, and I will ask your question to him in an upcoming episode!!

Very Happy to be compared to your dad, ANYDAY!
I always say we can learn a TON from people from future generations (In this case-same generation), if we would take the time to listen. Then, actually follow through with their advice. Listening to others that may know a little more about life or a particular subject is a lost art and a sure way to get where you want to be in many areas of your life. To many kids Know everything. Just ask em. LOVE the Interview. Glad it was the Long winded version. Best piece of advice was to "get more money and buy more cards".🤣 We do need to hear more with your dad too.
With all the spectacular things you do and the guests you do have, I enjoy these with Mike-Mid Life Dad the most.

I did the same thing he did. I bought a PSA 8 slabbed Brett in 2000, at the time I was not collecting just saw it at the All Star fan fest and it reminded me of my youth, and broke it out because I hated the idea of slabbed cards. I resubmitted it in 2019 and it came back a PSA 6. The exact same card dropped two grades.

I am looking at getting a 59’ Gibson, 56 Topps Mantle and/or 54’ Bowman Mantle while at the show. I have also purchased autograph tickets for Pete Rose and Johnny Bench. Questions for Graig's dad, do you still prefer raw cards, over graded? How about still collecting and enjoy collecting ''minor stars.'' Some of the unheralded players, that might have been over looked during their playing days career or not as remember much today. Biggest hobby pet peeves? What advice would you give to the younger generation who are new to the hobby, and don't have much money to spend. Maybe, the dollar box or ''bargain'' box good place to start? Do you spend any time looking thru those at card shows, too? Thank you.

I agree with your Dad, and especially with regard to PSA grading vintage. They are a complete clown show and crap shoot, and their non-existent customer service makes the first two things unacceptable to me. SGC and the gorgeous tux are vintage kings!
