I do not think the game will come with multiple maps/world, considering how so far they've only shown one world and it's unfinished. So maybe you couldn't use Hotels yourself in the base game. It'd be fun if you can stay in it like a pseudo-apartment/condo, constantly meeting new hotel guests next door & in the lobby. But the world is so large, and the game is brand new, so I'll give them some slack. It's a brand new game, so they should spend time making sure the core foundation of the game is good & polished. Plus custom world is a given at some point considering them trying to make this "the most moddable life sim"
Thank you so much for saying “functional” instead of “functionable”! That was really driving me crazy! 😂😂 there’s another word like that, hopefully people will figure out that’s wrong, too
Just before watching this I wathed your your video update about Paralives. And everything in that video made me so happy: the art style, the economy, the items, the new things in developement. Now wathing this I cannot not compare the two games and I noticed that I'm immediatly turned off by the art style of Life by You. Compared to Paralives it's dull and not up to par neither to Paralives or other 3D open world games. The gameplay features look interesting though, so I'm slightly optimistic for this. I also hope they make adding default custom skins and hairs easy, so players can mask the rough features of the characters.
I hope it is like the sims 3 where I can kill everyone and repopulated the town with my own people. This is one of the upcoming games I am excited about!!!
Is it just me, or is how realistic the characters are really unappealing..? I kind of like how in the Sims and Paralives, it's styleized. A big part of the Sims community is based on CAS. Will LBY be super customizeable? And even if it is, will it looks GOOD, or just.. uncanny? Also, the graphics are a little too high res imo. Other than those concerns, the game seems really great!
Realism is great. The problem is, the graphics look very outdated for 2023, so they don't actually look realistic (it just looks like an attempt at realism). Maybe they made it look outdated so that more people can run it, or maybe it's just cheaper At least, that was my impression when I watched the video. Maybe that will be different on release
Personally hoping this won't be competition to Sims and will stand on it's own feet for the life sim players. Sims has turned into a shallow dollhouse generator with a toxic community, not focused on life simulation but more focused on CC and looks generally. Every new update makes something look pretty but destroys another game mechanic. I look forward to a Sims 3 style game which is focused on life simulation.
The sims 4 is the last sims game i will play. I do have sims 3 and past GameCube games. I want to see life by you do more than the sims. The sims is just becoming more and more expensive and unreasonable with how buggy it is. I wonder if early access is available for everyone for life by you or if it’s invitation only. I’m gonna look into that because i really want to give it a try. I’m really interested to see where this goes
This is probably gonna sound incredibly negative and I am aware that this game is still in early development and is going to go through some (hopefully) major changes, but there are just so many things that bug me. I am glad they fixed the bottom bar and other aspects of the UI but the icons for items in the inventory are horrendous. They don't seem to follow any kind of theme other than looking ugly, like look at that apple and wool. It just doesn't fit at all and looks plain ugly. I also must say that I am skeptical about the world. Don't get me wrong, I love how open it is and how all of the lots just load in an instant, similar but even better than in The Sims 3. The lots themselves look really well-built as well but the world itself is embarassing for such a major developer. It looks like a custom world made by someone who is inexperienced with the Create-A-World tool in TS3 and just did the bare minimum. The landscape is barren and nothing looks interesting. It's nice to have an open world, but what is the point of it if there is no incentive to go anywhere beyond the streets and beaches? I'm sure they are going to have some kind of exploration system so you can go out in the wild and collect things. But it's literally just grass, trees, beaches and hills. And that giant park next to the main city area with all the flowers looks, like I just mentioned, as if it was made by an inexperienced player in CAW. The flowers are an eye-sore. They just selected everything they could and plopped it all down with no real thinking whatsoever. Apart from that and the fact that the character's seem pretty lifeless (as well as some other UI issues... please rename the "Drink" need to "Thirst") the game looks great. Graphics have improved greatly (apart from the water), but the fact that they have already changed so many things based on the players' feedback is giving me hope and I do not doubt that this game is going to be good. I am just really skeptical of the world. If the current state of it is here to stay and you can create your own custom ones, I don't think I will ever touch it.
It's in alpha state. This is all completely normal. It will improve over time. Most of the gameplay is still missing, and the graphics will improve over time, and you will also get used to the graphics (a lot of the criticism of the graphics is from The Sims players who just are not game experienced beyond The Sims, judge game graphics against The Sims 4 (and old game that should definitely have perfect graphics and rendering by now - but definitely DOESN'T) and automatically judge graphics as inferior instead of different, plus they aren't used to seeing games in development, so don't understand the processes and how that happens). And a lot of that 'improvement' for them is simply them getting used to different graphics, rather than actual 'improvement'. But the graphics will also improve, and you have the privilege of patiently watching all that improvement over time. If you play AAA games, the reason why they aren't good is that they DON'T go through this process - AAA games are slapped together, often with as many corners cut as possible, to make money and sell with mass marketing to the game naive, certainly not because they are better than indie games. Indie games tend to have better, more inventive gameplay and a LOT more features, generally because they obtain player feedback, like this game is doing. AAA games don't. This game will be more like the latter. Be patient, watch, and most of these things you mention will improve with time in this game, just as they do with other games in development. Hold off on your judgement for now, because the game is likely to change a LOT. If you still don't like it later on when it's graphics and gameplay is more permanently set, then make that judgement. 🙂
@@fransmith3255 And this is a paradox game, like the devs are in a paradox company as well, most people from the EA and the Sims don't know that paradox is known to change the game (Looks and UI included) on the course of time. Ask people who played stellaris since release, and they'd tell you the current game is way different than released stellaris.
@@XVlove Exactly. Most of these people probably haven't even heard of Paradox, let alone know the type of games and development they do. Thank goodness this genre is expanding. The life simulation communities consisting mostly of game-naive one-game-johnnies might, in future, actually learn to be a little more discerning about buying ridiculously overpriced buggy-as-hell badly-designed junk games!
@@MandiLingenfelter The problem is that those one-gamer-simmers could affect the rest of the gaming industry. Other companies figure if EA can get away with scamming these idiots, than they can too. It lowers the standards for everyone. Other companies start cutting corners, putting out less quality and less than finished bug-ridden games. Game quality is rising as a whole with the advent of technology and competition, but that competition is solely driven by indie games, not AAA games. AAA games put out nothing new and only what is tried, true and easy. And EA, by far the worst of the bunch, (these days - they actually got their reputation in the 1980s when they were actually innovative) takes that to a whole new level of 'what can we get away with?' The new game is going to be a another micro-transation game where the scam will be even worse and I really hope it fails. It won't, but it'd be great if it did. The worse thing about the one-game-johnnies is that they have no idea of the sheer number of qualities games they COULD have gotten had they spent their money elsewhere - $1100+ buys a massive shitload of great games on steam, with about roughly 10 times the value and gameplay hours.

@@Sim-dil-e-icious I mean ofc you're entitled to your opinions and I agree with your statement that people who keep whining about it should just leave it alone instead of whining everytime it comes up. That is literally making the experience bad for everyone else. Personally I feel like that's a mature option. I'm not buying the sims because I've seen people jack the game up with cc and mods, so what am I supposed to pay such a hefty amount for? Packs that have apparently bugs and stuff? Which aren't fixed even after being reported so much? What LBY does with the game is still to be seen. I was pretty happy about ts5 before I saw all the complaints about the EA app crashing, packs not loading etc etc. If they fix those issues, then why not give if a chance, it's basically consumers wanting a better performance for something they paid for. Whoever serves, they get.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious and honestly that's great for you, if you like playing it and have no problems with the game itself, then that's just fine. But you also have to understand for some, the game is a major bugger as of now considering many things, especially the stuffs I mentioned above. So it's basically a preferential matter much like you pointed out. There are so many people playing ts4 and I love watching ts4 gameplay. It's just I don't have enough patience to put up with so many glitches and bugs and errors, not to mention after paying for them. It seems like such a waste to me. The sims is obviously a big part of almost everyone's childhood, so I understand your sentiment.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious I feel that. We want improvement. I don't want the sims to go away as well. Some people can be really ruthless but I'm pretty sure a lot of people just want EA to make necessary fixations and reduce the amt. Of micro transactions. For example, paralives are offering the features in base that ea charges players for. So that's an eye opener. People will always gravitate towards companies that serve better. However, I feel like if EA gets enough competition they would just discontinue the game like they did with ts2. EA hasn't shown much reliability for that matter so you never know🤷♀️. It's sad anyways.

I like that the world is mostly empty. I don't want them to fill it up. I'm gonna fill it with my OWN stuff!!
Well they do have time skips and fast forward, so I imagine you can complete your work tasks then skip to the end of your shift!
I think the UI looks better, but the purple! I'm really hoping we can change the coloring.
Whiny Brit Barbie deserves a like ;D
I do not think the game will come with multiple maps/world, considering how so far they've only shown one world and it's unfinished.
So maybe you couldn't use Hotels yourself in the base game. It'd be fun if you can stay in it like a pseudo-apartment/condo, constantly meeting new hotel guests next door & in the lobby.
But the world is so large, and the game is brand new, so I'll give them some slack.
It's a brand new game, so they should spend time making sure the core foundation of the game is good & polished.
Plus custom world is a given at some point considering them trying to make this "the most moddable life sim"
I would 100% watch you watch Whiny Brit 😂❤
Car Dealership... for Car sales
I would like to see a switch version
Thank you so much for saying “functional” instead of “functionable”! That was really driving me crazy! 😂😂 there’s another word like that, hopefully people will figure out that’s wrong, too
functionable is a real word :)
We should have healthy competition. No more monopoly sim game anymore.
All that new simulators are upcoming upcoming upcoming upcoming upcoming
endlessly
Paralives are have been upcoming for about 10 years already
It does look awesome.
This looks really good and unique. I’m pretty excited!!
Satch please with the American pronunciation 😂😂😂
Just before watching this I wathed your your video update about Paralives. And everything in that video made me so happy: the art style, the economy, the items, the new things in developement. Now wathing this I cannot not compare the two games and I noticed that I'm immediatly turned off by the art style of Life by You. Compared to Paralives it's dull and not up to par neither to Paralives or other 3D open world games.
The gameplay features look interesting though, so I'm slightly optimistic for this. I also hope they make adding default custom skins and hairs easy, so players can mask the rough features of the characters.
I keep also call them sims should we say our people !!
This looks more promising than paralives
I wanna run the hotel
I call "car shops" a "dealership".
2:30 pls do it lamo
For me idc about the ui. What I’m concerned about is the graphics of the humans. They look hella ugly.
Other than those concerns, the game seems really great!
i feel like alpha cc simmers & gta players will enjoy the lby style since theyre all going for this kind of realism
It's not just you. Stylised graphics tend to age better and give more personality to a game. This just looks like generic realism.
Realism is great. The problem is, the graphics look very outdated for 2023, so they don't actually look realistic (it just looks like an attempt at realism). Maybe they made it look outdated so that more people can run it, or maybe it's just cheaper
At least, that was my impression when I watched the video. Maybe that will be different on release
I.m not sure they are so realistic, it’s more thé texture and the shaders that bothering me, the graphic style
@@sews1523 actually that makes sense! maybe the realism would look better if it was less outdated 🤔
the bottom bar should be gone tho. the aesthetic overall better now
Personally hoping this won't be competition to Sims and will stand on it's own feet for the life sim players.
@@fransmith3255as mean as it might sound, we just want those one gamer simmers to see the scam and save themselves!
I don't think I've ever been so early to a video. Excited for this Satch!
Car dealership m8.
I'm saving up to play this game lol. I'm glad I didn't give into the ea franchise even tho it has been such a dream of mine but after I heard the reviews of customer treatment and especially the cost I'm like woah no no no.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious is anyone ever clean on that terms? I'm just talking about the cost and effect and the current graph of sims doesn't fit my budget at all so I'm excited to see what these other life sim games do in that regard.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious well at least they are taking their time to listen to people's concerns and making changes according to that.. from what I've seen so far, EA doesn't listen to their consumers. I'm not trashing or bashing neither am I interested in to do so, I'm just here to find something that caters to my requirements and so far LBY seems promising enough.
Thanks for the life lessons; love me my daddy.
Hmm, I prefer the cartoon-y style of The Sims though.
Try this Satch----Instead of calling the characters Sims, try calling them LBY's. I agree, humans do not seem to be accurate, even if that is what Rod calls them.
Libbys? Libbies? Lifers? I think I'll stick with Youmans for now, but they could really need a catchy name.
@@MagnusItland I've seen some people using "Elby/Elbies" for the characters
@@grumpysphinx4911 That's actually pretty cute!
Omg ily vids
Am i first
Hm... I dont know. Life by you feels so....random. the "humans" still look horrible tbh
They delay the early access to improve their game, shame on EA thou
The graphics look boring dude
The problem with simmers is that you are too used to the sims. I wish someone could give a fresh perspective to this game who hasn't been tainted by sims, especially the lackluster sims 4.
Agree with this completely. People wanting to turn this into another Sims 4 will destroy it.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious I said it in my comment - FRESH PERSPECTIVE. Read omg.
@SimlikeitHot Ask EA to pay you the $1000 Sims 4 costs for kissing their butt, if not then cba. Go waste someone else's time.
@@ambergathings7160 Wouldn't bother, we've got a Sims super stan in the comments who won't have their precious EA slated.
I know it’s in alpha development but my god does it look ugly 🙈
Now this is a game for the future. Sims is so obsolete with their 100 loading screens and laggy gallery.
I’m not in love with the art style of life by you or paralives tbh. Lbu looks too gloomy, the houses and roads stand out way too much from the tree and grass textures, it looks like they are glowing. Same goes for the furniture. But I honestly couldn’t care less about that as long as the gameplay is good. At this point I’d honestly go for any game competing against The Sims. EA can go f itself.
Stop talking about non Sims/EA
Will this game be free?
