    Nice I just got my 3 new colonies in the mail C. nicobarensis, C. Herculeanus, and Messor Barb. The messors came with 30+ workers and are so active. Brings my total species count to 7. with most being Lasius sp. self caught and founded. Was so happy its March and I brought them all out of hybernation. No total losses as of yet but my L. Flavius queen de-headed most of her workers. Love the channel and the updates.

    Very nice Queen and workers. Love their golden colouration. Look like these don't stress out as much as the larger Camp Herc. Maybe due to lack of worker's the Queen is helping with prey item's and she's probably hungry. My new Manica Rubida colony were screaming for sugar and protein's.

    Great video Rob, another colony I'm looking forward to seeing develop. I recently purchased a nicobarensis queen and workers, I let them settle and on day 2 I fed them etc. Casually entered their room and there the queen was out of her nest eating away, I couldn't believe it! I'm fairly new to ant keeping, but I'm guessing you were a bit shocked by this as well! Haha

    What would you say is a suitable way to heat queen ants in a test tube.

    Hey Rob, great video. I bought the same colony from best ants, but loads of people are telling me it's actually a Fedtschenkoi. There isn't much information available online, but what's your opinion?

    How do you introduce food into this type of setup is it a case of waiting until all the ants are in the nest then disconnecting the test tube quickly adding the food then attach the tube again. Also what type of camera are you using to capture such clear footage

    that s camponotus fedtschenkoi
    not Camponotus turkestanus

    • @potats1770
      @potats1770 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is turkestanus. Turkestanus can look like fedtschenkoi. The only way to tell the difference is hairs near the mouth. Turkestanus has none.

      It’s Fedtschenkoi. It’s the only queen with black thorax.
