Winter Pruning a Mini Stone Fruit Orchard for more PRODUCTIVE and ABUNDANT Harvests in Phoenix, AZ!

Welcome back to The Green Yard and a video all about winter pruning our stone fruit trees. In The Green Yard we have a mini stone fruit orchard that hugs our west property wall. Our orchard consists of a total of six trees currently, which includes a Pink Lady Apple Tree, Granny Smith Apple Tree, Yellow Egg Plum Tree, Dwarf Bonanza Peach Tree, Dwarf Honeycrisp Apple Tree and a Asian Pear Tree. This pruning can help the tree have more efficient blooms and ultimately more fruit. It also helps to clear out crossing branches and remove anything dead or diseased. One of the best things about our stone fruit trees is that they are very forgiving and will still flower and fruit even if you prune the tree after it has already started to bud out. I have seen significantly better growth and fruit production since I started pruning my stone fruit trees. In fact, last year we harvest over 150 apples from our Pink Lady Apple Tree.
