I think having "a dark secret" for Miguel is unnecessary, him doing something everyone thought was harmless but instead destroys an entire universe is enough a reason for him.
What surprises me more is Mile's original Peter Parker warned kingpin of this exact thing, he seems like the most competent and strongest spiderman having fought multiple villains at once only losing because he got shoved into the particle collider which massively injured him.
I think his "big secret" will be that he didn't just take the other Miguels spot... he was the one who killed him

That’s what I was thinking. It didn’t make sense, his new world disappeared but it a fixed point don’t happen the black goo takes that world so something different happened.
That would be so bad. The entire point of Miguel’s character is a commentary on choice and sacrifice, to make him a secret bad guy this entire time would take away from the entire point of the film and just feel so out of place. Trust me I think they have something better planned, I believe he’s gonna be redeemed in the sense that both Miguel and Miles will set aside their differences since both of them are right and wrong at the same time.
@@CountOfMonteCristo_ not a secret bad guy. He can still be redeemed. From the info the movie gave it seemed like he took the opportunity to be with his family. It didn’t work and he lose them again so he makes the spider Society to make sure no one does what he did. No new villain, just adding to his backstory.
I think your missing the point. Miguel is basically the first ever Miles Morales, his comic books started in 1992, YEARS before miles hit the scene. He’s the antithesis to Miles Morales, he was the first ever Spider-Man that wasn’t Peter Parker, he’s the original; and the film uses this theme, he was the first successor and also the first Spider-Man to show us that ANYONE can wear the mask, and the movie obviously shows that Miguel has this resentment towards Miles, it’s so obvious in a good way and I can’t believe more people don’t realize this?
Dude was the spider-man of tomorrow and now he is yesterdays news and got real salty about it.

Finally someone else picking up on the "doubles" theme going on. Miguel and Miles have so much in common in their "I'm not like the others" with story, background, and "canon events" but mostly, they are not Peter Parker.
A lot of characters also get unnecessarily pretentious against the "doubles" such as:
"Why do people call it a 'ATM Machine'?"
"Chai tea?!"
"'Naan' already means bread."
And following this pattern, Miguel feels the need to correct Miles that he was the "wrong" spiderman, which was suppose to be Miles' "double".

I like the idea that Miguel is an antagonist that thinks that Miles represents a danger to the multiverse. He is not a villain. He believes that what he is doing is right and there are plenty of other people that back his thinking. You could even imagine a different movie written from his point of view where he is the clear hero. Having him be some secret villain just undermines all of that.
The movie does tend to gloss over the fact Miguel has been monitoring and fixing timelines for a while now. He's made copies of his portal watches, figured out there was a pattern in each timeline, HAS EQUIPMENT TO STABILIZE TIMELINES, and was also helping to prevent the rips from MCU's "No Way Home".
He just has a hard time believing Miles is an exception (but I think deep down he knows he should trust Miles despite all the universal facts and logic telling him otherwise).

Agreed. Some of the new fans pushing these dumb theories are beyond insufferable. Who wants to bet when this stuff becomes less popular, they'll disappear into the sunset and head to the next big thing? So annoying. These people are why media has gotten so predictable and boring. Also, they're probably why Writers are lazier these days. They come up with dumb "complex" theories a toddler could come up with and the writers go "HUH! That's really cool. I guess we're going with that". Cringe.
We kind of did have that movie were he is the hero. It's called 'Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse'
Nah. I think it’s just a red herring. The big baddie is supposed to be spot. Most of miguels antics in this film aren’t shocking at all if you somewhat know his background. He’s the most untraditional/ impractical Spider-Man out there. Comparing him to the others in hopes of grasping straws that he’s the villain doesn’t make much sense. He’s supposed to have claws. He’s supposed to have fangs. He’s supposed to have red eyes. Hes supposed to be serious, brutal, and aggressive as opposed to quirky and passive. He’s supposed to inject himself. Even take Peter B Parker’s word for it. “Don’t worry about my friend Miguel here, he only looks scary, he has no bite.”
Exactly. He's the opposite to Peter in that way. He jokes around and makes quips when he's not in the mask, but becomes serious once he puts it on

I find it surprising that a lot of people miss some big bullet points in this movie.
•we don't know if what Miguel O'Hara says is true. We know that while going around and recruiting spider-people, he comes across a universe where he has a family but dies. There are issues with this, like not knowing if that universes Miguel was a spiderman, who killed him, and was there someone or anyone that was supposed to be Spiderman from his death. The universe fell apart more than likely due to him just existing in a world where he was supposed to be dead. That By itself can cause a whole list of continuity errors, but more importantly because he still alive he may have prevented a spider man to exist in the first place.
•also when it comes Spider-man india's cannon event being stopped by Miles, it shouldn't have happened due to Spot not being there if Spot was stopped in Miles' universe. I believe Spot cause that universe to destabilize due to the Alechemax building being destroyed and where wouldn't have in cannon.
So a best Miguel's personal tragedy is feeling him to be overly protective and trying to follow rigid rules he set up for himself. There's more serious I have but i'm gonna stop it right there.
Miguel makes two arguments that work against each other. Firstly, that a death due to multiversal interference was canon within a universe, and interrupting that event created a dangerous anomaly. Secondly, that Miles receiving powers due to multiversal interference cannot be canon, thus making Miles a dangerous anomaly. Really looking forward to seeing what the next installment brings, I think there's going to be a lot more to it than most of us expect.
We know what Miguel says is outright false because he connects the ITS trilogy to the MCU, and Loki + What If contradicts everything he says. The most important miss is how Miguel has multiversal travel abilities when that is invented by Kang 900 years after Miguel.
Miguel is the equivalent of Dr Strange in Endgame. Willing to to do anything to prevent the worst possible outcome. The quippy character trying to keep the multiverse from imploding sounds cool but isn’t going to cut it. For a fictional situation it would be taxing on the mind and plus Miguel has to have survivor’s guilt from ruining another reality that wasn’t his own. Kind of a stretch Miguel even survived the incursion of the reality he inhabited

In the scene where Miles tries to get back to his own dimension a robot scans him and the weaver creates the gateway for Miles. Miguel was too late to stop him and in the following scene that may have been played for comedy. Miguel is scanned by the hesistant robot until he breaks it before it could finish.
That scene to me seemed like Miguel was hiding where he came from 🤔
He was also really pissed that Miles got away so it was probably just that, a comedic moment

It's amazing how many people here don't know anything about Spider-Man 2099. So much misinformation being offered. At the very least check a wiki before offering up bad takes if you can't read the series. Miguel appears just as he does in the comics. And he has a history even after his series ended. It will go a long way into explaining why Miguel acts as he does and what his possible motivations may be. Just trying to help those trying to figure out plot twists.
I think the obvious fact is that Miguel's family died, he went to another universe where he could replace himself to get his family back, and the universe died because of an incursion event, not due to the spider-man cannon as Miguel explained to Miles.
The canon web wasn’t invented by Miguel. It’s more of a discovery after his screw up. One screw up alone means the web is on the verge of collapsing. It’s irreversible. That’s why miguel is taking the responsibility of holding the web together as much as he can. Miles is a threat to the canon web. With his adventure, he’s undoubtedly going to tear the whole web down. The big question is what are the consequences, and are they certain. Miguel has lived through it, and has Peter B Parker as an alibi for it. Gwen confronted Miguel, asking him whether or not he knows for certain of what’ll happen. Miguel responds, “ do you want to find out?”
In short, I think the film did a great job clarifying everything about Miguel’s character. He’s not a secret villain but a secondary character in between the protagonist and antagonist of the story. Peter B Parker said it best that Miguel, “… only looks scary. He has no bite.” Which is correct. He didn’t leave Miles’ bleeding or paralyzed, despite being more than capable of it, and he had the opportunity to do so. He does have anger issues, yet all he did was send Gwen back home, kicking her out of his own club. Not saying Miguel is the best leader but his role was exaggerated. He’s actually more composed than people are giving him credit for. That’s the real shock.

Miguel never has a family, being Spiderman of 2099 thwarted his attempts like three-times over.
So he either did something that the dimension's Spiderman was suppose to do, or he avoided becoming the Spiderman that made that reality collapse. Because he can't have both being Spiderman of 2099 and have a family (I'm guessing the latter, Miguel is a Spiderman who hates his role and would gladly wish it was someone else).

I mean spiderman 2099 was literally was about to vampire bite the vulture at the start of the movie. Not to mention at another point he was juicing up on some spider venom later in the movie

He has a paralysis venom bite, meant to subdue. It’s not that shocking, and no, he’s not a vampire
@@therealM6likthat’s exactly what that is. The entire montage parallels the scene where Miles got his powers. Same comic books panels showcasing his cells changing, etc. then you get a closeup of Miguel’s eyes turning red which only comes with his other spider powers

Spiderman 2099 needs his own movie.
I don't think he's an inheritor. I think a more likely idea is that Miguel is from Earth-42 before hopping over to OTHER (deceased) Miguel's timeline, and that the Spider who bit Miles was "supposed" to be his Spider. He's vague about his origins in the movie, and we see him injecting himself with some kind of formula, probably to both satiate and emulate other Spider-People's traits. When he's yelling at Miles on the train sequence, it feels a little...projection-y.

@Atharva Pachunde and I think that the fact the spider was going to bite Miles 42 is super important. Miguel talks down to Miles 1610, stating he was never supposed to be bitten and because he was, "there's a world now where Spider-Man doesn't exist." We wind up seeing the state of this world is a rather dreary one. That isn't because it's a world without Spider-Man, but rather a world without heroes at all, such as Miles' dad. Hell, even Aaron in Earth 1610 wasnt a "bad" guy; sure he did bad things, but he kept his family out of his business, and only ever wanted Miles to see him as a good guy. Clearly Miles 42 has grown up without any of those positive influences, so how would that spider biting him lead to a change for the better? At the very least it seems it only would've given him a new way for him and his uncle to pull off more crimes they were already doing. In a way, this idea all ties back to Gwen's discussion with her dad; "you put on that badge because you know if you don't, someone who shouldn't will." Miles 1610 getting bit may have been wildly unconventional to the standard canon Miguel is trying to uphold, but that story and universe adapted and embraced that change.

My personal theory is that Miles Prowler is a good guy fighting the Sinister 6 cabal on E-42. He went Prowler as he never got supper powers.
ok but why earth42 was NOT instantly destroyed when the canon (miles getting bit by earth42 spider) was broken? Since spiderman indias earth began to tear apart the moment miles saved captain singh, in this case earth 42 only seems to be ruled by crime instead of being disintegrated
I think the theory immediately flies out the window with the re-design argument. Peter Parker in Gwen's backstory got completely changed from one movie to the next. So is now Gwen not who she says she is, because her backstory changed between movies?
The only thing they changed was Peter Parker design. He turning into a Lizard stayed the same.

@@jonholla6463 I'm surprised everyone focuses on the Lizard bit of the story, when it's the one thing I never mentioned. I was talking about the re-design of Peter. In the first Movie he's clearly an adult Peter Parker. In Across the Spider-verse Peter Parker looks like a high school kid now, as he should.
But UZiK00SH is right, they changed basically everything about Gwen's backstory design-wise. Peter was an adult, her Dad looked nothing like he does now, Peter's Lizard form looked more like classic Lizard but now he looks like a komodo dragon and judging by all the shipping containers the fight either took place at some warehouse or a pier, not the school. Again, design-wise literally everything changed.
So if we're going by the same logic as this fan theory, Gwen Stacy in the first and second movie are two completely different characters.
Nah I think its just that unlike all the other spider people, Miguel made himself spiderman by combining spider dna directly into himself. So now he has to take an injection just to stabilize his form or his powers. Its a parallel of how he bashes Miles for not belonging when he know he isn't a pretty spider person like all the others just a half spider monster. I imagine in his pursuit of Miles, he'll forget to take his shot and as he finally sees his face again he'll see how much of a monster he's allowed himself to become literally and figuratively.

@@yourmother5810 I said stabilize his form OR his powers. The imagery of his genes being affected by the serum felt similar to Miles after his spider bite of course this is all conjecture. I think it's more likely to stabilize his pretty boy appearance but just to cover my bases I said powers as well.

@@joulejolt Actually yeah, that does make sense. In the comics, Miguel's fangs are permanently protruding, but here he can retract them like his claws so the serum probably does do that.
But him being arrogant and stubborn has always been a character trait of his. Man's stressed from constantly being under a time limit to make the "right" choices or have another timeline implode on itself.
Miguel is 100% not an Inheritor. It’s a fun idea but it falls flat - especially when one of the possible theories is his fangs.

I think Miguel is sort of like Rick from Rick and Morty limiting them to a certain part of the multiverse aka the Spiderverse where their sacrifice connects them through what he calls “canon events” when evil Morty escapes the part of the multiverse where Rick is a genius and he’s an idiot he’s going beyond that multiverse. I think beyond the Spiderverse will be going beyond the limited part of the multiverse where they lose someone to become Spider-Man. Maybe Miguel needs these spidermen to lose someone to create the network of the Spiderverse so he can use that as a cover to find universes where his wife and daughter exist because he couldn’t travel to them without their DNA routing them to their universe
The Canon in the Spiderverse seems like the equivalent of Absolute Point of Time, where Christine dies no matter how Doctor Strange tries to save her life.
I think his dark secret os that deep down, he knows he's wrong about the canon, but in his own words, he's lost too much to stop, and would rather try and control the order of the multiverse than accept his guilt.

I have a theory that the part of the reason why the universe collapsed was because Miguel tried to make himself "canon" with experimentation, but failed. It could explain why he seems unstable and requires injections that keeps his cells bonded.

Thompson has just quoted in the clip you showed , in his own words what the late great Stan Lee said in an intermediate interview asking about who spider man could or/should be, Stan Lee wanted Spider-man to 'always' have a mask as 'anyone' can become Spider-Man in their own right. Everyone thinking way too much into it. Spot is the villain. It's not a secret, not a red herring. Miguel's story was pretty straightforward, for better or worse.
honestly from the beginning of the movie my thoughts was , this miles is a anomaly that was not suppose to happen does “canon” even matter cause if you think about it the moment that spider left its original 42 universe shit was not lined up as canon which has zero to do with mile’s actions not his fault he was bite, so moving forward as long as he keeps his nose out of other canon Spiderman universe events he should be fine
It's pretty interesting to see the most prominent non-Peter Spider-Men pitted against each other, given how their radically upbringings make them polar opposites, despite both being the first true successors.
He's not going to be a villain. Everything from the movie lines up with comics. This Miguel is just even more tragic and depressed than he normally is, which is saying something. Miguel's life makes Peter's life look perfect. That's why he's so serious and wrathful.
What if the miguel who died was meant to be the "uncle ben" of that universe and his daughter was meant to be 2099 but instead miguel interfered taking his place which is why that universe was effected so badly because he had stopped its spiderman from becoming spiderman
I think Miguel's wrong about Canon Events, cause some things in the film break this rules and everything seems fine. Both Miles-1610 (our Miles) and Miles-42 (Prowler Miles) had their Canon Events broken with their roles swapping essentially, and their universes have been relatively fine for over a year. We see with Gwen's Universe that her dad quit being the Captain, meaning he won't die, which breaks the Canon Event and the universe is fine. The only thing that would support Miguel's Canon Events idea is what happened to Spider-Man India's universe, with it being left in a questonable state of stability, but if you were to take a second look, you'd realize that, regardless if Miles saved the Captain, the stability would be put into question cause the mess was caused by the Spot destroying the Collider as a result of him absorbing the Dark Matter. And to hit the final nail in the coffin on Miguel's Canon Events theory; He is literally housing over 300+ Spider-People in his universe, a majority of them being variants of Peter Parker. That should break Canon.

Not really concerned about Miguel. I think what we saw is all you need to know about him. I’m more concerned about Hobie Brown. There’s more to his character than being a rebel. Why did he join the spider society? Why did he bother staying so long? Why and how did he get in Miguel’s inner circle. Why invest yourself in Miguel’s operation only to tear it down. Miguel has an explanation and alibis for his story. What’s hobies? For a guy supposedly lowkey, he’s flawlessly orchestrating everything for Miles and Gwen. They’re essentially his pawns. He also shared the alias of the prowler once upon a time.

I’m 100% sure that Spider-Man 2099 is the villain of ATS/BTS. Kang invents multiversal travel, so Miguel couldn’t have invented the technology himself. Further, Spider-Man 2099 is the only one that has no spider sense. Meaning he’s not connected to the web of life. And the “canon-event” is also non-sense, since The Watcher replaces Black Widow of the evil Pym universe with the Black Widow of the Ultron winning universe. I think he’s working for Kang the Conqueror.
I find it interesting because if you've ever played spiderman edge of time, he's seen first hand what happens when you fuck with time and If i was him I'd also want to stop some random punk kid running around the timeline.
Spider man 2099 just had a redesign it’s not that deep and The Spot is the villain not the inheratiors. The Spot is better choice anyway
I hope this is wrong, cause that would eliminate so many of the personal elements the movie sets up. Also when it comes to Miguel's design changing between movies, I think it was just a matter of fitting what they had at the time, cause the same thing happened with Gwen's Peter Parker and even Miles himself at the end of the movie where he's still 14 when Gwen comes to visit, but in this movie he's 15 and had his growth spurt.
Dropping my tiny theory: Miguel is not a spider but a tarantula hawk - dark blue wasp with red wings that kills and eats spiders. That explains his claws, fangs, glider, he chases Miles like a carnivore animal. Well at least his design is inspired by this insect, I swear
When it comes down to it something else has to be collapsing those realities. Because as seen in Loki if a variant change something the reality just splits into a different timeline.
Changing something is different from changing canon events. If you enter a universe and stop people from dying in a volcano(Pompeii in Loki) it creates a new branch. If you change a cannon event(Dr strange in what if did the exact same), the universe collapses under black goo
@@shauryasuri3653 It’s not the same thing. A paradox like in Doctor Strange was because he was trying to change something that led to him having the ability to change it in the first place. And just remember when he did change things the universe self corrected not disintegrate.

I still calling tht the Spider-Man 2099 is different from the one in across than the 1st movie. I bet the first one is the real 2099 and the Spider-Man 2099 in across is actually Flipside a villain of his from the comics

Okay so he's got pronounced canines in the comics, cool. I don't remember him ever taking his mask off and trying to *eat* someone though - specifically a multiversal totem (Vitruvian Vulture). I'M JUST SAYIN, SOMETHING'S UP WITH HIM.
My guy he was trying to paralyse him. Miguel's fangs have paralysing venom in them that he injects through bitting.
And he does take off his mask to use it a few times in the comics. His first time using that was against Thanatos.

His big secret, He shot the other Miguel & took his place. Why else would he be so antagonistic towards other people? I also think He had to take Green Goblin like serum or something like that. I noticed how his skin looked a little. It looked really pale like he was basically a hybrid between Mr. Hyde & a Vampire. I don't know if that's anything, but this guy also has more powers than any other spider man/woman have, like having claws. No other spider hero has claws. I'm not curtain, but that is just a theory. This guy acts like a flipping psychopath.
Well his powers were gained and are very different than all the other characters. In the comics he takes a serum which gives him claws and a spiderbite like you said and he doesn't actually have a spider sense. He wasn't bitten by a radioactive spider. So its not that he necesarily has more powers, his powers are just different.
Also part of the reason why he seems like a psychopath is that in the comics his story is that... he works at alchemax, asshole boss of his gets him hooked on drugs, his life is generally a mess, and he makes and takes a spider serum to get off of the addiction of drugs.

@@HamiltonNgo-A24he doesn't get them through a serum. He undergoes a procedure to override his corrupted genetic material with his original one to get rid of the addiction but the experiment was sabotaged and he ended up with 50% of his dna being that of a spider thus getting his powers.
It's pretty obvious. If you read the comics even a bit you know what his secret is.

Miguel taking over the other Miguel's place happened after the events of the first movie, because we can see that he invents the inter-dimensional travel watch after the events of the collider and Miles being bitten. This is because the post-credits scene that was shown implied that the AI only finished the watch AFTER the collider was destroyed. So, no, Miles is still the original anomaly.

was rewatching the first movie and it wouldn't make since for miles to be an anomaly if Gwen was able to sense he would become spiderman before he became which either means he was always meant to be spiderman or fate isn't as predetermined as its meant to seem in the 2nd movie.
It will be your latter point, in the same way Gwen learns this the second her dad quits the pokice, she learns that changing canon can also have a positive outcome - which is antithetical to Miguel and creates the setup for the third film.
it's the latter - i think the 'spiderverse' is more flexible than miguel thinks, it adapts to breaks in the canon/loopholes in some cases, but in other cases (i.e miguel), the damage can be too great to reverse. cannot wait until next year!

He is more of a brute force guy and not a manipulator not to add that he and the other inheritors absorb the totems with their hands and not teeth.
So unless they want to create earth 001 B in order to have more inheritors, they can't really use one here.

In the current time all the inheritors were killed as babies and only Morlun survived and he is half dead.
If they called Peter B. a 616 spider man that would mean they operate on a diffrent multiverse but they don't do that so they have to play by the rules.

I’m pretty shocked nobody is talking about how bad this video is. It talks about the Inheritors for less than half of the video, then becomes a plot recap for the rest of it. What a waste of time.
I think what miguel did was cause an incursion. I think incursions to him and the spider society are the canon breaking. I mean that’s literally how an incursion is caused when you think about it.
I think Miguel is like another Kang TVA or Turbo from Wreck it Ralph 😂He’s most definitely hiding something I thought when Miles was absorbing powers from his suit it looked like Miguel didn’t belong there either. He’s so powerful because he has access to spider serums.

Why did Pavitr have two different "canon events" happen simultaneously? The "choose between your love for humanity and his love" and "police captain close Spiderman dies saving and innocent" are kinda odd. There were just enough spiders at just the right time to keep his life from falling apart, coincidentally? Don't buy it. And then immediately his universe started imploding. There's a lot of info being withheld. Maybe that's just to have room for creative freedom in the sequel, or to make the reveals hit harder. But rumor is we wont find out til 2035 now. Hopefully sooner tho.
Honestly, those events shouldn't even be considered "canon events" in the first place. For starters, Spot doesn't consider Pavitar is nemesis and Miguel said that the police captain canon event requires that an enemy of Spider Man is suppose to cause that event and I'm pretty sure it's suppose to be one of Pavitar's enemies; we never saw one of his enemies in the are other than in a flashback of his origin story. Second, you also need to consider that these events should theoretically, or potentially happen again later; there's nothing stopping a similar event that puts Inspector Sighn and his daughter in danger like that to where Pavitar can't do anything about it when there is no one to help him. Lastly, I'm pretty sure that black hole was only caused by the Alchemax collider exploding and not a canon event since were told in into the spiderverse that the collider can cause black holes.
@@shadowwriter4538 these points are all true, only if you consider Pavitr 'tied to the universe' instead of 'spiderman living out experiences in a universe'. If it's any spider than it makes sense that it happened. The collider would be just a plot device to initiate the events, and there's a spider there.
If it's specifically Pavitrs universe then it all might happen again, but the whole experience with other spiders was an anomaly which collapses his universe and he escapes or ceases to exist. Even spider society intervening is an anomaly. And can't take off a bracelet or else dissolve like his universe.
But hes in Gwen's band, which means he survived and turned against Miguel. Still just a lot of holes.

Goofy powers are generally the powers that can easily be retconned into something like.. profoundly amazing. Glad they did that here. Off the top of my head one example is Orihime from Bleach. Her fairies seem goofy but she actually has a crazy amount of god-like power that can easily end the series lol.

will there be a 2099 vs a 2099 as part of the final battle. I have a feeling that there is differnt spider verses, how manay variants are the same? Even if it is just hinted at, the fact one string is the focus. Vut would that mean the current string of spiderman or based of the milas and peter that happened in the one universe. But even of this thought is not true, it could fit into the MCU.
Here’s a theory I like, Miguel wants every Spider-Man to go through what he had gone through in the past hence the cannon events, maybe miguel made them up? let’s look at the facts: Miguel stated that one of the cannon events is a close police captain of that universe’s Spider-Man dies while trying to save a little child from a collapsing building caused by said Spider-Man’s arch nemesis. In Mumbattan Miles saves captain Singh which caused a collapse of that universe. but there is a problem, Miguel stated that the one who should kill the captain is the nemesis of that universe’s Spider-Man’s but in this example it’s The Spot who was in charge of the distruction. Then it’s not a cannon event is it? Because The Spot isn’t Paviter’s nemesis, which means that that wasn’t a cannon event and miles didn’t interfere with it. another example has to do with Gwen’s father, according to the cannon, her father should have died after becoming captain but he decided to quit the force on his own, which brakes the cannon. Also another something that I’ve noticed and this one is a bit of a stretch, Miguel injected a fluid into his body which could be what makes him Spider-Man. Maybe Miguel isn’t really a Spider-Man? Maybe that cannon event was some sort of a lie? Also, If Miles is the original Anomaly like Miguel stated, how come his universe hasn’t collapsed already or at least shown some sort of odd signs.
I really don’t know for sure about any of these thoughts, I just wanted to share them and see what people have to comment because I really think these are some good ideas and speculations for the next and final chapter…
yeah i'm really curious as to how they'll explain the spot/mumbattan thing and how mile's universe hasn't collapsed. perhaps miles being bitten was in the canon and miguel just assumed it wasn't? we'll have to wait until next year. also i'm pretty sure the serum that miguel injects in himself is rapture, which is a drug that he was addicted to in the comics. unless the writers changed it, idrk 😆

I wanted to add a little bit of comic book lore to that statement. in the comics, Miguel O'Hara is indeed the spiderman of the year 2099, HOWEVER his powers were gained very differently compared to the majority of the other spiders. Miguel worked at the Alchemax in his universe and he had a boss that got him hooked on drugs. In the process of getting himself out of that addiction he created a spider serum to get him out of the addiction that gave him his powers. As a result of not being bitten by a radioactive spider like the others his powers vary greatly such as, he can't stack to walls and surfaces and therefore has talons that come out of his hands and feet to climb, has a spider bite with fangs to knock people out, and he does not have a spider sense.
However, he is still spiderman
Also bonus note, in miguels universer Peter Parker did exist and was the spiderman of the past, however he died obv cause of the massive years apart between him and Miguels time.

Because there weren't two Miles existing in the same universe. Miguel went to a universe where his variant died, and tried to replace him. That somehow made that universe collapse according to him. Miles getting bit by a spider is wayyyyy less of a paradox.

But the spider society headquarters are located in Miguel's universe he also has all of the spider powers his comic version has.

The only thing missing is organic webs because they replaced them with his laser webs for some reason.
My quick thoughts about Miguel O'Hara's story.
He said, "Captain Stacy had to die as part of the canon." Except that the Spiderman of that universe was already dead and therefore did not have any canon.
Miguel ignores that by replacing that universe's dead Spiderman he screwed up that universe's canon.
He did what the Scarlet Witch had tried to do. He stole someone else's life and someone else's family.
And BTW, to those familiar with Spiderpunk - the death of a police captain in his canon would not be a bad thing.
Good on @Nerdist for calling this out. It's a horrid take by the lowest-common-denominator (that is to say "Consumers") who think like Kindergarteners. Miguel has sharp teeth so he's somehow an Inheritor? Get outta here with that Deviant-Art level cringe. The teeth are because of a DNA-level mutation caused by a machine. When Miguel got his powers, he also got an anatomic make-over (sharp teeth, night vision, claws that put out of the tips of his fingers). New Spiderman "fans" are just annoying edge-lords who think they understand "DEEP" connections. Not deep, just dumb.
I think there is a couple jokes that foreshadow that he is lying, when he is about to bite the vulture and the cops in the helicopter say he doesn't look like he good guys, Miles also question if he is really a spider man when he start to use his claws, maybe he is an inheritor, if that the case we only will get a tease for the next trilogy, maybe he is an actual vampire or some fake spider man who is addict to this movie version of Rapture, the film never explain what is he injecting with. There is also the possibility that he killed the other Miguel to remplace him.

Me, I thought that the death of Uncle a Miles counted as Uncle Ben of Peter. So, I don't understand why his Father has to die. in addition, in the film he gives land numbers to the character. But, we realize that they have a big difference with those who come from the same land in comics format. So would the multiverse in the movies be another multiverse??? Miles is different from his comics counter part
There is going to be something revealed and there's many red flags. Many people don't seem him as a good guy or Spider Man, he's the only Spider Man to not shoot webs from his wrist but on his arm, little to no spider sense, and when you see him in Spider Man HQ for the first time you can see him injecting himself with a mystery green liquid.
That was most likely just Rapture and this version of Miguel didn't get rid of the addiction that was forced on him.
Well that or he isn't sleeping and is just working 24/7 thanks to stimulants. Both work given what we were shown.

I thought it was a little strange how miguel, after capturing vulture, opened his mouth like he was going to bite vulture. Sort of a red flag too that his eyes turned red sometimes as well when he was feeling stressed or anger.
miguel's transformation into spiderman 2099 gave him fangs, claws, red eyes etc. if he bites someone, this injects venom into their bloodstream and will paralyse them. so yes, he was trying to bite vulture to incapacitate him. if you're wondering he got involved in a freak accident/experiment which replaced 50% of his dna with a spider (at least in the comics) - that's why he seems different than the others!

I think the secret could be his origin actually. Miguel tried to replicate the dna of the original Peter Parker spider-man instead of accidentally getting bit by an actual radioactive spider and by doing so, turned himself into a somewhat spider-man of 2099 with different powers as to the rest (like he can't actually stick to walls, but has retractable talents on his hands and feet which helps him climb surfaces and doesn't have a spider sense - the most basic and important characteristic every spider-man has - even Miles. He also takes some form of drugs to maintain his powers). This can imply that Miguel is actually not supposed to be spider-man in his universe and he is the actual anomaly and not Miles. Also keep in mind that the spider that bit Miles was from Alchemax, a research institution in Miguel's world. This could mean that Miguel could very possibly be the reason for our Miles to become Spider-man in his universe and also responsible for creating the Spot.
Incorrect, his story takes place way in the future. His universe always had a Spider-man, but he died. In the far future, Miguel takes his place. There's a reason why he's called "2099"
Also, the spider that bit Miles was from Earth-42. Miguel's universe is the one where the Spider-base is.
