    I really want decorative items! More flowers, bushes, and "background" plateforms and walls!
    They should add a "decotheque" (like the sonotheque) but with esthetic only items

    I want to see the option to change the Game style when entering a sub-area. This is inspired by the sections in Mario oddysey where you enter a pipe and become pixelated like in SMB1. I don't know if this would work with the "extra" game styles though.

      The main reason why I think it wouldn't with "Extra" game styles is because for example, the level is in the Super Mario World game style and the Sub-area is in the 3d world game style. What would happen if you were riding Yoshi? I think that if you were to bring an item with you into a game style with no replacement, you would come out of the pipe without the item, although you get the item back when you leave the sub-area.

      I know, but there is no Yoshi in 3D world, OR Goomba shoe. Yes, I know there's the ice skate, but that's not in Mario Maker 2 and probably won't be in Mario Maker 3

    My ideas for a Super Mario Maker 3:
    -More advanced Super Worlds. Can include about 7 levels per world or a special world.
    -Star Coins.
    -Secret Exits.
    -New Super Mario Bros DS Style.
    -New level themes(Mountain, Volcano, Tower, Beach, and a few extras).
    -Less level limitations and an extra sub area.
    -2-3 different tiles per theme for variety.
    -Goal orb from SMB3 so we don't have to use that goal pole. Can be attached to bosses.
    -New power ups(Hammer Suit, Tanooki Suit, Ice Flower, and Penguin Suit).
    -Search levels with titles instead of level codes.
    And others.

    Some things I want in SMM3 are:
    - Super Worlds for all game styles + bigger super worlds
    - Movable start and end points
    - Ability to select music independently of theme
    - Ability to set boss/bonus music for just a sub area, not the whole level
    - Another set of ON/OFF switches that are independent of the red+blue ones (green+yellow maybe?)
    I could go on for hours, there's just so much potential!

    If dry bowser would be immune to lava, I can imagine a cool level where you have to constantly spinjump on him across the lava and then defeat him at the end.

    My opinion on all the ideas:
    - Screen Wrap is something I’ve wanted since when I started making levels in SMM2.
    - One-way-pipes would certainly be useful, however we can currently place a pipe horizontally with no ground below its entrance and it works, so that is not what I’m requesting most.
    - Bubble Pipes seem fine, could enhance water levels.
    - I don’t know how to feel about more complex bosses but Nintendo also managed to make Koopalings work, even when they’re just randomly placed because Timmy felt like it, so yeah, why not. The Reznor Wheel, Lakithunder and Dry Bowser seem like good picks.
    - Message boxes is something I really want. I made a few “Guess the Flag” levels, for example, and for each country name, I left a comment in my own levels. The problem with this is that people kept commenting to spoil the correct solution so I had to disable the comments, sadly I can’t reenable them though. A message box would be the perfect solution for this. And about the bad words: Nintendo takes down every glitch level and forbids any kind of cursing anyway, sooooo… The only problem I see with this is the language barrier. If you put important hints into the message boxes, but I sadly don’t understand Japanese, then I won’t beat your level and maybe even boo it.
    - I’ve thought about combining themes as well. The menu should look similar to this: Standard themes X Cave, Sunset, Night or Flooded.
    - I see a third subarea very critical. Especially as a dedicated versus player, it’s for the best if you know whether you are in area 1 or 2 so you can decide whether or not to enter a pipe. Simply allowing for one big subarea would do the job in my opinion.
    - Triggers are cool, but probably too complicated for a Mario Maker game. Again, triggers might be even worse in versus mode than pink coins or clear conditions.
    - To the gizmos: I am open for anything because gizmos are the most supportive parts, they can be used in so many ways and you can’t do much wrong with them.
    - I wouldn’t mind timers but they’re nothing too major, at least they could be used for some cool puzzle levels.

    It would be cool if you could end the level by just for example defeating an enemy or activating a pow it would be great for boss fight levels for both traditional levels and non-traditional levels

    Placing twisters in pipes to blow in different directions needs to be available in all themes, not just underwater.
    But I agree that underwater needs some more features to make it stand out

      that will probably not happen, i think it would take just months to make that feature because there should be for every single variation, a tileset music edit music more custom "filler" music (like the airship theme in smb)
      there has gotta be like 100 entire variations
      all of that stuff for just 100 themes is not gonna happen
      there is a low chance for smm3 to happen, and even almost 0% chance that style comining will be a thing

    One of my ideas for smm3 is a "flags" section sort of similar to the sound effects section. Basically it would contain more advanced things like triggers. My ideas for this section are: always loaded flag, this would allow the player to make contraptions that always function no matter where they are in that sub area. Pointer flag, this would allow an object to always have a pointer showing the direction that object is in and would keep an object in the same position even if the player goes to a different sub area and back.

    On the Pipes section, I think that Pipe Cannons would be a nice addition. Pipe Cannons would act like Warp Pipes, but instead of sucking the player down, it would shoot you to an area similar to Cloud Cannons in Super Mario 3D World.

    as I said before. For me, it should have a DLC to make a third installment. adding more elements, villain and professional tools. For example, if Mario steps on a certain part of the place, coins appear. I also use the camera zoom, among others that could be more complex.
    It would also be great if we can create our own background in SM, SM3 AND SMW games since they are 2D. And in NSMBU and SM3DW are all the background of the series.

    I feel like instead of combining 2 themes, you combine a theme and a bottom of screen substance (like water, poison and quicksand) the underwater theme would be removed and added to that. Here is what they would be, and the themes aswell, and their alternate looks
    Themes:
    Ground (tree)
    Desert (ice cream)
    Beach (huts)
    Glacier (paint)
    Forest (cardboard)
    Mountain (chocolate)
    Clouds (cotton candy)
    Volcano (inside volcano
    Underground (sewers)

    In levels, text is usually made with those blocks and the letters have to be big. The message box would problably change that fact.

    If they do add timers, and you can put them in pipe and such, they should limit the amount that can spawn like how 1-ups and coins are limited to 3 and 30 respectively. Also limiting how much time they can add overall would be good too. Forced death areas are bad enough with star spam, we don't need the option to just wait out the timer to be removed as well. Or they could just add a "restart from checkpoints" option as anyone who's accidentally hit restart can attest to.
    An idea I have.
    A way they could make clear conditions and checkpoints compatible is to make the collection ones work like pink coins, and for the "don't X" conditions have the checkpoints act like the goal where you can't touch it if you fail but if you fail after getting it you still start at it if you die, the holding _item_ and as _Mario_ conditions would work like normal, you would just have to include those things after the checkpoints. The option to have the player instantly die if they fail a condition would be nice too.

      The "Restart from Checkpoint" option is needed for SMM3, for difficultly spike scale porpuses...

    I think an extra third sub-area with 3x3 screen-wide would be cool. The ability to change size of camera's screen-wide in general would be a nice addition too, so instead of just the predetermined 24x14, we can make it 48x28 or in between that! (the course area's length and wide still stays the same, it's the camera that's different.)
    The ability to change/drag startpoint and goalpoint anywhere (or just somewhere in the first and last screen) as well as changing the ground to bridge, mushroom platform or semisolid. It's a small touch but would change the feel and flow of the game by a lot.
    Oh one last thing! Maybe make the night themes to have an actual night background instead of just the reused space BG one (if you want to make a space level, there'll be an option for that specifically: day/night/space), and the night effects are now rebranded as "Occurrence/Level Quirk" which means we can set dark, wind, low gravity, screwy or upside down level at any themes! That also means we can use water/lava/poison(+quicksand) anywhere too instead of restricted to a certain theme.
    And about the Combo Themes you mention in this video, I actually been thinking about the same thing! But having all the work to combine every possible theme, it'll take forever to finish, it requires a bit too much effort. I mean to have every combo like that I'd absolutely will be delightful but seeing the current SMM position right now, I don't think they will do that amount of work tbh. So here's an alterative, Themes are seperated into two, and we can only combine between the two of that:
    (1) Ground, Desert, Snow, Forest, Mountain, Beach, Sky, Underwater
    (2) Castle, Ghost House, Airship, Underground
    But I'm still not sure about this tho, considering the idea of how cool it would be to be able to combine sky with every single theme, like, just picture a bonus stage, with any theme but has cloudy background. So yeah, enough rambling lol, sorry I got carried away.

    We should have the ability to have multiple colors of keys, key coins and key doors, probably one for each corresponding character. That way the builder could make it so you can only access sections in a certain order.

    Something that would add creativity to levels would be a option of creating your own enemy. There would be some options like "throws items? [Yes] [No]" and "defeated by jumping? [Yes] [No]" and even "Can fly? [Yes] [No]"

    I want to see:
    -Decoration mode.
    - The capacity of place water and lava anywhere. Even waterfalls can be great.
    -The ability to change the collisions/effects of things (E.g. make water kill you, make goombas platforms or some other crazy stuff,)
    -Being able to put the goal where I want, both position and sub area.

      No they aren't. There are great ideas people have for those themes. Also if upside down levels are also "bad" to you, don't play them. Same thing with ANY OTHER THEME!

    I can only think of three things off the top of my head right now, but I would want there to be:
    -Cannon Pipes (Those pipes that instead of taking you to a subarea will launch you somewhere)
    -Scaled up bosses, they are way to small at normal size, but when they have a mushroom they are a little too big
    -Walls that you can “phase through” I don’t know what to call them but i’m talking about the ones that can be seen at 7:00

    I think a real Super Mario Brothers 2 theme would be cool for a Mario Maker 3. I have also come up with the idea of a 3D Land theme ever since the final update came out. I feel like it could work well as a 3D theme for the standard styles category, as that game has a lot more of the same features as the others, such as Chain Chomps, a bridge at the end of the castles, and Note Blocks. Maybe you could fly with the Super Leaf because it'd be 2D, and maybe Peepas could replace Boo Buddies. I'm still disappointed that SMM2 won't get anymore updates.

    Dry Bowser could be an alternate form of Bowser in every style except 3D World where Dry Bowser would be replaced with Meowser

    Another idea that i have is hidden/camoflouge areas. These are in the games and look like normal ground but upon walking into them, they reveal a room for hidden colectibles or trools.

      Bubble pipes by adding the bubble creature to it was an interesting idea. Though it wouldn't be necessary if a trigger feature existed to make certain things that are unique to their game styles, but it would make switching game styles more difficult. What about changing the SMBU into the NSMBU in SMM3? Maybe SMM3 should be a console that works more like a PC, in order for large amounts of additional content can be added gradually.

    what I would realy like, is being able to give a second mushroom to enemies and mini mushroom . NSMBW had small goomba, normal goombas, big goombas and giant goombas.
    and a shop to buy stuff like mii costume so that coins arent as useless as they are. also the costumes could have new one frequently to keep having more so you don end up with 37237398327561075 coins

    It would be Amazing if SMM3 added a Day/Night Swap Block,When you hit it the Level Will go from Day to Night,Night to Day and is perfect for the creators who wanted to make a Level but couldn’t decide whether the level should take place during the Daytime or during the Nighttime.

    I would add blue and yellow Koopa Troopas. Not only for the visual variety that they would add, but also for the chance to include all their behaviors from smw, in the smw and sm3Dw game styles.
    Like turning into Beach Koopas upon hit, then either trying to return to their shell or kicking it away, and so on...

    I feel like a custom boss creator would be cool. It could be you take an enemy (goomba, boo, spike, etc) give it a mushroom and place 1-3 enemies on it (muncher, monty mole, rocky wrench, etc) and boom! It’s a boss that takes 3 jumps/pows to kill. (It would need to be killed the same way you kill the starting enemy)

    One Way Pipes is something REALLY missing in SMM2, that triggers me too much. Because you can break an stage with the wrong way of exit entered...😅

    I have two comments to make:
    1: I think screen wrapping would also be cool in horizontal levels, if you can go from bottom to top and top to bottom
    2: Nintendo's method of making a powerful level editor while maintaining approachability is to provide elements that have obvious uses, and allow them to interact in many ways to create emergent gameplay, which advanced users can take advantage of to make incredible things. Thus, the Geometry-Dash-style triggers you suggested would probably go against that philosophy, since they have very generic use cases, and aren't very approachable. A lot of things you might want to do with triggers can already be achieved with some creativity.

    Lol, the message blocks could easily be abused by Little Timmy making a Bean Burrito where there is stack of goombas or whatever on a message block, the top one having a key, and whenever you hit the message block, it will defeat a single goomba and the message will say "Haha, in your face, you will have to keep seeing this f**king message sucker!"

    I’ve always dreamed of a game called something like Super Mario Maker Pro with like separate settings screens for every block/enemy. It could be made to be more advanced and maybe even set an age thing for like a 10-12(or another age idk)+ so that little timmy’s will be a lot less common. which also means that nintendo can add things like infinite timers (or at least longer timers), bigger entity limits etc

    If they add message blocks I don't think they will allow custom text entry.
    It would almost be a better option to allow for a sticker like interface.
    "Hold B to grab" (and an image)
    And would only work if there were advanced tricks such as:
    "Reverse shell jump" (and image).
    But most kiazo builders already came up with signage for most of these tips anyway.

    One small thing I wish pips did was shooting Mario out of it like a canon, but that probably won't be added lol. I also liked the idea of triggers but what if they gave us a whole selection of things like, making an enemy able to take 3 hits for example. It also would be cool if you can make certain blocks bigger like bricks and q-blocks.

    1. Instead of having a specific pipe color be a specific speed why not just choose the speed so we could possibly have more colors like a gray and purple pipe
    2. How about another on off block (green and yellow?) It would help with more contraptions and also not be forced to use only 1 2-state block
    3. Remove the wierd little ends off the slopes sure it helps when making it bigger or smaller just do it with the little triangle end and if you do that then diagonal platform
    4. Diagonal semisolids
    5. A steeper slope where mario can't stand on it without sliding off and mario can't walk up it he needs to run up it
    6. Fr connecting pipes
    7. Red coins
    seriously
    8. Instead of deleting the entire level when going to a different style that 3d world have it switch over like normal and any exclusive stuff will be removed (unless going back to 3dworld) or replaced (spike block=4 spike traps)
    9 everyone wants peaceable water and lava but add in quicksand
    10. Night theme backgrounds suck Instead of keeping the day background it gets replaced with stars and I want to see the day backgrounds with the stars so it looks less wierd

    you know what i think would be a great idea for custom bosses?
    the ability to paint one in pixel art or other things that fit the theme or dont at all
    cross theme bosses
    and have a bunch of selections for boss attacks
    maybe even some for bosses not in the game
    new boss attack options
    or you can take a bunch of attacks and put them in an order
    and maybe a new design for each phase
    i think theres a lot of potential for that

    One-way pipes could lead to level-restart pick-a-pipes. Since you can't go back, it causes players to reset level.

    Here is EVERYTHING I really want in smm3.
    Alright, first, the triggers you suggested are AMAZING. I can just amagine having them in auto levels, or bosses, or for a story like you need to find the hidden relic to progress. It could work like triggers in geometry dash, there would be one to move stuff, there would be one to freeze stuff, there would be one to play an animation, there would be one to shake the screen, and so much more!
    Ok. Listen, we need more enemies, some enemies that would fit in perfectly are MORE BROS, I would like the fire bros to come to every game style first of, and then we need boomarang bros, sumo bros, ice bros, Flying bros, and more.
    New theme! This is the first new theme I will be saying they should add! the mountain theme. this is pretty self explanatory what it will look like.
    Another enemy! Thwimp. Like come on, they look so adorable! They are baby thwomps that jump left and right.
    And now, new game style! Now though it would be cool to have every single Mario game available to us, that would not be possible till mario maker 14, so one of the new styles I really want, of course, the classic, Mario 64 theme, like it’s the first Mario game, better yet, Nintendo hates troll levels, so for them, they will have to deal with only 1 game theme having that music.
    Speaking of game styles. Super Mario bros 2! They already have a lot of the code for this game style, it was actually supposed to be in Mario maker 2, but Covid ruined that, not before they had a lot of the code done though! These 2 game styles of course will be in the extra game styles.
    Message blocks are a good idea, but there will be a system to not allow you to put a message in there if it has a bad word. This will help with story a bunch! You could also set it to automatically appear and you don’t have to hit a block!
    I’m getting bored, let’s speed through the rest of everything,
    Items, blue flying yoshi, grab blocks, and ball and chain,
    Game themes, Beach, volcano, haunted, tower, painting, sewers, and as you suggested you can mix everything.
    Enemies. fuzzies, all chuck types, broozers, fire snake, fire chomp, and everything new in the other styles,
    Game styles, new super Mario bros, super Mario galaxy, bowsers fury, and super Mario odyssey.
    Bosses, Dry bowser, pina piranha, mummy poky. Big boo, submarine bowser jr., dreamy bowser, reznor, kamek, and everything from the new game styles.
    Features, Giant enemies, now enemies can be made really big! Only allow 3 per level so little Timmy would not abuse. And the 3d maker, all 3d styles would be competent in 2d, but you can turn on 3d maker mode! This would work like how you design what you are gonna make on a 3d printer.
    That’s what I want in Mario maker 3.

    In SMM3 I 2ould love to see the mega mushrooms from NSMBDS I mean first off it would be really cool and it could work just like it did in the ds where you smash blocks run into enemies and even knock over the gold and it would be have a timer just like in the ds also I could see lots of people remaking the NSMBDS VS mode with it and using Mario and Luigi or making mods like what if it was in NSMBWii 11 remake in U game style that would be nice and I would like to see it in all game styles even 3D world since it was in the game and I was right in the heat of the game it was in the First frickin level and couple of levels after that even the special ones so if Nintendo doesn't add that in that game style they will pay and this time it can be different colors like Mario gets blue and red Luigi gets blue and green toad gets white and blue and toadtte gets Pink and white that would be cool and only that character can have a supssific mega mushroom and it would only be if your playing multiplayer but if it's in single player if your in 1 player mod you just get the regular orange and red that would be cool and add so much cool features to SMM3 and you could even give it to enemies like the goomba to recreate that king goomba fight from SM64DS and NSMBU or the final Bowser fight from NSMBWII and NSMB2 if you know have the ability to have bowser facing the front of the screen like in the game in a vertical space that would be so cool to see in a future SMM3
