Brandon Staley: “Otherwise we’d get blown out.”
Team: *Hold My Beer*
Derwin James: MACK!!! QUICK…WRITE THAT DOWN!!
'Mandatory players meeting!'
🤣🤣🤣⚡️⚡️⚡️💥
Dudes a certified clown plsyers finally got fed up with his know it all nonsense
It's so funny that he foreshadowed himself being fired 😂
It’s honestly insane.
Be careful with words you use they might come true lol
“That hasn’t happened”
His players: “so anyway, we stopped trying”
He laid out the blueprint and the players followed it to a T. Who says they've tuned him out?!
Life stranger than fiction 😂
My biggest fear as a Steelers fan is they let go of Mike T and we end up getting a coach like this.
No kidding. As terrible as the Steelers look, they're still winning and in position for a playoff spot.
That was my sentiment about Coach Payton when he left the Saints, but then he joined Denver and I realized that he was being propped up by Drew and a GM with a somewhat competent ability to draft/build a team. That being said, man I just cannot see the Steelers letting go of Mike T. He's still a very good coach, but he's being let down by the ownership and their lack of ability to put together a decent team.
That's what the Pats are gonna do
@@kyndread71 Yes but the Steeler's upside with Tomlin the past ~3 years is a wild card loss. I think that while he's still a good coach the Steelers need a new voice, I mean they lost to teams with 2 wins in back 2 back weeks. And don't give the backup qb excuse, tons of teams with less talent then the Steelers are winning with their backups.
Knowing the Rooney's they will probably hire the first woman coach
How this man kept his job for another year after the playoffs last year will always be a mystery to me.
I said the same thing after the Falcons blew that 28-3 lead to NE in the Super Bowl and Dan Quinn didn't get immediately fired. You can't have that kind of loss on the big stage and EVER regain the confidence of the locker room ever again. That's a wrap. You gotta move on somewhere new and start over. Is that fair? Not really, but it's reality.
Fire Kellen Moore also
No mystery, trash managing from the owners, been like that for years
Because they’re the Chargers and made the playoffs. Why would you fire a coach that makes the playoffs. Surely you’re not delusional enough to think this team can win a Super Bowl. Chargers have like 3 good players.
I thought he'd be fired after Jacksonville, game and hire Sean Payton
I feel like the entire NFL's fan bases were actively rooting for this to happen by halftime last night. The amount of Herbert and Chargers haters I saw being horrified by the game and feeling sorry for Herbert was insane.
Sherm said it during the half-time show...'they should make history and fire this guy now.'
As a Chiefs fan, what they did to Brandon Staley is wrong and they should be ashamed. Same with Josh McDaniels and Nathaniel Hackett. All amazing coaches who deserved better. I am beside myself right now! So heartless!!
@@2nd-place I felt the same about how they treated Matt Nagy in Chicago... Couldn't believe they didn't give him a 10 year extension. And now I hope the Chiefs keep him forever.
@@2nd-placeand that’s why your second place
Dude he’s being ironic - as a chiefs fan, he wants everyone to keep their trash coaches so the chiefs can keep steamrolling
As a raiders fan. I’m going to miss Staley so much.
as a bills fan me too, was hoping he would last 2 more weeks lmao
The Raiders were 3-3 against Staley...it's not like they were getting two easy wins a year.
@@MosheGoldbergTheKing Yes but we won the playoff elimination game in 2021 and historically beat them down yesterday with Staley at the helm. Two most important wins over his tenure, the first got Raiders into the playoffs, the 2nd got him fired.
@@MosheGoldbergTheKing it’s kind of a wash, but if you’re Staley, the two worst loses of your HC career came from the raiders. Last night and week 18 in two seasons ago when the chargers lost the playoff bid in overtime. Seems like he has a raider curse in late season games.
The raiders can’t build a good team anyway so I don’t know why you care 😂😂
As a Broncos fan I am really sad that Staley got fired I was hoping he would stay another 10 years.
As a pop tarts fan, strawberry is the best
KC fan and I completely agree lol gotta think LA is gonna push hard for Jim Harbough if they are smart…but it’s the chargers so who knows.
He's gonna be a Broncos assistant soon. Bank on it.
Don’t worry. The Spanos fam won’t disappoint. They’ll prolly hire Kellen Moore because he’ll work for a jersey and a day old hotdog.
Yasss 👍🏼
The lions curb-stomped the raiders and caused their HC to be fired, now the raiders paid it forward to the chargers
Lmao😂😂😂
Best comment here. These teams both did each other favors 😂
Will we see the chargers pay it forward????
@@spesto5067Maybe next year, our last 3 opposing coaches seem to be pretty set in stone for a while
@@Thisizaraisu whoop the chiefs maybe they will finally cut some of those wrs
The problem was more than Easton Stick last night. He wasn’t good but the entire team looked like they did that on purpose to get Staley fired lowkey
because Staley isnt a good coach and would blame the players for every loss
@ernestogastelum9123 yeah there have been multiple times where Staley says I call the gameplan and the players don't make the plays
It’s very “broncos-rams 2022” of them
Stick has nothing to do with why this team flat out quit last night. He'd be the last person I'd be pointing at today
Those dawgs became kitty cats from the first snap. Meow...bad tape out there for bad performances on the field.
Staley: the locker room is fine, we haven’t been blown out yet
Chargers: ight bet
SOMEONE PLEASE BUY THE CHARGERS. THIS OWNER HAS TO GO TOO!
😂
Panthers and Chargers fans in the same boat… Panthers just a little worse off lol
We need to petition for Bezos to buy this team!
Hold on, I'm checking my couch cushions, I might have just enough.
@@johnnypaiz2587 They won't let him
An underlying question? What did Eli and Archie Manning know about the ownership/management of the Chargers that they did not want Eli playing for them all those years ago. Think lastest developments are symptoms of something within the organization that breeds dysfunction. Firing B. Staley does not really fix the problem.
Apart from Archie supposedly having “in depth” conversations with Ryan Leaf. Remember the doctor that “accidentally” punctured Tyrod Taylor’s Lung? Dude is still apart of the medical staff.
Yeah many charger fans blame spanos for the systemic problems the chargers face
@@frankgonzalez7432 Seriously? That’s insane.
This is just how pro sports works, if it’s not your star players and it’s not the work ethic, it must be the coaching staff
Not rocket science… Eli wanted to play in New York…
Hearing that Staley got fired this morning made me so happy and overwhelmed with a feeling of justice. It was basically like I was in a courtroom of a trial of someone who is obviously guilty and heard the jury actually announced guilty!
He wasted so much talent, imma raiders fan im glad our team got rid of our problem, just wish they did it sooner like the broncos did
I'm actually the victim of a violent crime where the person who took advantage of my body was convicted right in front of me.
Staley getting fired felt better and more relieving.
Bane voice: JUUUUUUSTICE!
It’s about damn time.
Ok Lizzo
As a devout chargers fan I thought I would never say this, but I am very thankful for the raiders last night, although I hate them with a passion, if they didn't do what they did to us last night staley might still be our coach.
You're welcome. :) I hate the Chargers too, but no one deserves the dumpster fire that is Staley.
I witnessed a shitload of "Don't Want To" on that Chargers Defense😮😮😂
Bro I screamed when he said you get blown out when you lose the locker 😂😂😂😂
As an ex charger fan due to the BETRAYAL of leaving San Diego, this whole situation has brought nothing but a HUGE SMILE ON MY FACE.
Ex 💀💀
That salty ex eh😂
Me, so many times last night, "Well, at least this is LA's headache now." 😂
I agree same thing here
@@adrianmena3235 Honestly, I’ll never understand why anyone would be a chargers fan at this point. They left San Diego to go to LA… that’s greedy and idiotic by the ownership.
Hope the Chargers never win another game, until the owner is gone.
Bro spoke his future into existence
Staley: I haven't lost the team, or we'd get blown out.
Team: hold my beer....
People is not mentioning how the raiders offensive coordinator first time sitting in the box and he did this. Great adjustment and moving from the field to the box
They pulled the same move for Graham on the defensive side and things have been on the up ever since
Nothing about the riders. Chargers just gave up.
Tbf despite the score, that was an around average game for the Raiders. I don't think they broke 400, right?
The props to that game goes to the DC this time methinks.
@@LilyMaeBlossomIt’s one of those deals where the defense played so well the offense basically never had to travel far to score, hence the lack of yards from the Raiders part
I was at the Week 14 Broncos game and even before Herbert got injured every Chargers fan was fed up with Staley. People were chanting for him to be fired, but what really made it sting for me was that Antonio Gates (an absolute DAWG) got inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame at halftime and had to watch his old team suck so bad.
Imagine bill trading himself to the chargers then arguing with himself "am I worth a first round pick or two?"
Me and my buddies (all chargers fans from san diego) were lowkey laughing after the 1st quarter. We were almost happy knowing that staley was for sure going after this, and that the chargers can hopefully get a good draft pick next year
This should have happened 2 years ago . Staley has done nothing
Lol right?! He's coached his team out of so many winnable games it's unreal he's lasted this long
He wasted developmental years of his franchise QB and squandered prime windows of other stars. So he did much worse than nothing. Then again they have one of the worst owners in the sport so not surprising.
losing is something. wasting herbert's career is something. it's not a good thing, per se, but it is a thing 🤣
You can thank the Vikings in week 3. He would've been fired by then already had he lost to the Vikings and started 0-3, but the Vikings are on a mission to save Jobs this year. I think we saved Eberflus too. This after we got Daniel Jones paid last year.
As a Commanders fan, I’m surprised Coach Rivera made it past the TNF debacle against Chicago. Washington could have installed Bieniemy as interim HC while we still had a fighting chance….. won’t be long they’re both “ex-Head Coaches.” Rivera for the second time……
He's as good as gone too.
Almost guaranteed that the new owner asked Rivera to stay for another year for smooth ownership transition. Which is a wise move. I don't rhink Rivera has really had his heart in it this season. I think he was perfect for keeping the ship as steady as possible while one of the slimiest losers ever owned the team. He'll definitely be gone next year.
I think he was doomed to fail because of the lack of talent, and the failure of the owner and management. Such a bad organization. Firmly believe in him as a coach but you can’t win the Derby with a plow horse.
Both those guys have ties to the Chargers. 🤔
As someone who lives in San Diego and experienced how Spanos feels about us, I was so happy to see them get pounded last night.
3:30 The team legitimately came together and said "okay boys, lets get this douche outta here."
63 points with only gaining 378 yards. Chargers really folded in epic fashion, coach with the assist the week before.
Defense scored too. Bad offense makes these things happen.
Honestly I’m shocked he lasted after halftime
The Raiders look like they have a quarterback, wow did that young man look good, calm but quick foot movement, quick trigger, nice timing.
bruh it was the chargers defense 😂😂😂most Qbs look good against them
@@sillygoose4263yeah but he put 60 points up on them. That’s pretty insane regardless of how bad the team is.
I've watched every start he's had this year, and it seems like he plays great when everything's on schedule and they're ahead of the sticks like almost every drive last night, but 3rd & long can be a big challenge for him. Very limited mobility, which is a real problem if the pocket collapses (a dealbreaker, imo) and he's thrown some pretty bad picks. He has a good arm and seems like a great guy, but just feels like an above-avg career backup to me.
He played against a bad defense and a team that was quitting and not trying last night. He’s not good by any means. Calm down.
63-21 was such a close game last night. Being from LA, I was rooting for Chargers the whole game... 🤣
Nah. Not “63-21 was such a close game last night.” /
Team gave up on him. Been a charger fan for 35 years and last night is the first time I've seen the team GIVE UP. It was obvious. We as a fanbase are PUMPED the both coach and GM are fired and mind you THIS HAS NEVER happened in the history of the Spanos ownership (both coach and GM being fired in season) so this actually means something to use charger fans.
Won't make a difference, Chargers are still gonna be trash for a few years.
Raiders did y'all a favor
EFF THE CHARGERS. EFF DEAN SPANOS. EFF SAN DIEGANS WHO STILL ROOT FOR THIS CRAPSHOW.
Jones One handed pick 6 was one of the well read plays since Jack Squirek’s pick 6 in Super Bowl 18.
There was a time when they had Philip rivers, LaDainian Tomlinson and Antonio gates on the same offense and couldn't get it done. None of this is surprising. Some teams just never figure it out.
That afc division had two of the largest beatings in history. One hit me in the feels and then the other is laughable
Stunned the Spanos made this move but after an absolute beatdown last night with the players giving up on coaches, it makes sense
They had to do what they had to do.Last nights game was the WORST example of professional football I have EVER witnessed in my 62 years!Hoping this team can move forward and get past this mess.🙏🏻⚡️💛
A year for every point scored.
Well, I mean the shalacking the Broncos got at the hands of the Dolphins earlier this year is in the same vein as this game. There's been 2 displays of absolutely embarrassing professional football showings this year, both by AFC West teams.
@@TheForbiddenOne55 Oh yeah!I forgot about that game!I didn’t watch it for some reason.Broncos definitely came back! This team can too!😊
Sadly it was too late to fire Staley. Should have fired him affter the Ravens game. If Kellen Moore would have been made interim headcoach aftwr the Ravens we could have seen what he would do as headcoach WITH HERBERT, but now we only have Easton Stuck so we wont truly know.
His offense right now looks a lot how Lombardi was running it before him so i was suspecting maybe Staley was having the final say on the play calling.
Exactly! If this game was 2 weeks ago, it would've been the perfect time to fire Staley... as it is, eliminated from the playoffs, bottom of the division, guaranteed to have a losing record, should've kept the man until black Monday, and tanked for maybe the 6-7th pick...
Happy for chargers fans. Now as saints fans we need Dennis Allen to get the Staley treatment.
Wack, since Raiders had Dennis Allen too.
And it was _awful._
As a Charger fan, I am happy that HC Staley and GM Telesco are gone from the team. I hate to see them lose their jobs. But unwilling to be open to change and responsibility, was their downfall. The current lineup is at its strongest in seasons, but they haven't been utilized to their best. The team is constantly hurt. Herbert needs leaders that will listen. Don't drop the ball, Spanos.
After stomaching LT, Rivers, Gates & coach Marty running it up on us all those years, karma was coming.
I just said that earlier to my co workers I'm so glad this embarrassment happened so some changes can actually get started !!
Somewhere, David Tepper of the Panthers is thinking "Oh man, a coach with a losing record who's disliked by his players just got fired? He's hired!"
0:32 This right here just let me know that this was done on purpose. Kudos to you Chargers 👏🏽 👏🏽.
as a lifelong Chargers fan, never in a million years would I have imagined I’d be so ecstatic to get “blown out of the stadium” in historic fashion by the Raiders
First time I can actually say thanks to Raiders for the blowout!Let’s go Chargers we got this next year like always!🤣🤣🤣🤣
The team lost it on purpose to get him out.
A better announcement from the chargers would've been if they were announcing that they were moving back to San Diego at the end of the season.. 🙏🏻🤞🏻
With Fredo as the owner?
Chargers intentionally threw this game to finally get the result fans wanted. FIRED STALEY AND FIRED TELESCO!!!!
Now we just need Spanos to finally sell and bring in a better owner
Spanos's dad bought that franchise for $70 million dollars, he ain't selling anytime soon lol
Good God. I’m not a Chargers fan, rather a big Justin Herbert fan going back to his days in Oregon. But I would love to see Bill Belichick coach the Chargers. Simply cause if there is anybody who could help unlock the rest of the team, it’s gotta be Belichick, as out of touch as he can be. I’d rather take a has-been Belichick than a never-was Staley ANY day of the week.
horrible management by the organization, they should've got rid of Staley after that horrific playoff loss and maybe they'd be in a better spot now. good job on getting rid of Tom Telesco as well I guess
As a Chargers fan I can say that this is a massive W. It feels as if we just won the Super Bowl
As a Chiefs fan, gonna miss Brandon S 😂
"Yeah, otherwise you'd get blown out of the stadium"
*Always Sunny Theme*
"The Chargers Get Blown Out of the Stadium"
I’m a Texans fan here. This was long overdue. Staley flat out couldn’t coach. He had no instincts, many say he was analytics driven, I think he was just an idiot that was over aggressive in every decision he made. Staley’s inability to change and adapt even when everything should have made him see this. Chargers need to hire Pat Moriarity as the next GM, Pat is the assistant GM in Baltimore, he has worked under Ozzie and now Decosta. For Head Coach I don’t think big names like Bellichik or Harbaugh are the answer, I think Ben Johnson of the Detroit Lions would be better.
Man I hope we can see the Chargers offense back in form next season healthy, when the weapons are there and healthy they're so fun to watch! Hopefully will get a nice bump from a new coach as well
“I CALL THE DEFENSE SO STOP ASKING”
I was literally watching the ESPN broadcast of the show at work when this happened. What a moment!
I love how they read the quote wrong, said they might have read the quote wrong, and Boston straight up proclaims that they did not. It's the little things like that that gives this show a comfortable feel lol
I'm just floored that nobody in the room was able to correctly read that 😂
I think Dan Quinn would be a good fit with the players they have on defense
Brah, you gotta go offensive mind when you got a QB like Herbert. That's partly what made the Staley hire so stupid to begin with.
@@purplepainforums Defense wins Championships and with all the defensive stars they have on that roster a coach like Dan Quinn can make that a top 5 defense in the league. Look what he did to Dallas defense in the two years he’s been there
He walked 🚶♂️ into that one 😂
Watching Steven A this morning was funny man. Steven A called it. Lol
Remember when McCarthy fired kellen Moore and everyone freaked out..
So basically the Raiders got 2 head coaches fired this season they are on a roll!
Pete Carroll team also face the same thing....the message didn't get across, players not communicating, player not paying attention, lack of effort, etc.
Pete lost the locker room and if he can't turn them around, he might retire soon.
He needs to. He's still clinging on to what brought him success 20 years ago. The run-run-pass-punt scheme just isn't working.
God willing. His stay is a little too long overdue.
What makes you think Pete loss the locker room?
@@maskedman5657 A former LoB player, KJ Wright, has his own podcast and often joins Seattle talk radio in post game. All of us Charger fans know that we didn't have blow out losses because of Herbert. Last night is what happens when you give the team someone other than Herbert. We couldn't do a 30 yard drive until 20 mins left in the game. And yet Herbert was blamed by many people for not being good enough ("he's paid to be the difference"). He is the difference, we are just that bad.
Let's have Brock, Tua, Lamar, Jalen, Patrick, Dak, Joe, Josh, Trevor go play on the Chargers in 2023. They aren't going to look as elite either. As a charger fan, I am tired of watching average/below average QBs get carried into the winning records because they have a better coaches and average defenses. And people use that W/L record to sh*t on Herbert. Even before Herbert went on IR, we had the 31st ranked defense. Not going to the post season with a 31st ranked defense.
The team had no faith in Stick or Stanley and they let it be known on the field.
Screw your friendship with telesco, he was under .500 with two playoff wins in 11 years and hired Mike McCoy, Anthony Lynn, and Brandon Staley.
About freaking time!
Until the last two games, I thought the calls to fire Staley might be overstated. Sure, the team was underperforming, but they were also unlucky. They were 5-7, but they were 0-5 in teams decided by a field goal or less. Their losses were by: (1) 2 points, (2) 3 points, (3) 3 points, (4) 14 points, (5) 3 points, (6) 3 points, (7) 10 points. Their wins were by (1) 4 points, (2) 7 points, (3) 17 points, (4) 21 points, and (5) 6 points. In other words, they had scored 20 more points than they had allowed. If they had just been average and gone 3-2 in those 3-points-or-less games ... they would have been 8-4. So, yeah, underperforming, but there was also definitely some luck issues.
But then they lost to the Broncos by 17 and the Raiders by 42. Maybe the team had given up because of their bad record, but even if that's true-it means he lost the locker room. Hard to disagree with the firing now.
He’s a defensive coach and their defense sucks every year. He sucks terrible take.
@@connorbroome5240 My take is that he ultimately deserved to be fired-he clearly lost the locker room. I don't really care whether a head coach is considered a defensive- or offensive-minded coach: ultimately, if you get the right coordinators, it shouldn't matter much. One thing that I do think is interesting is that the GM was also fired. I had thought that Staley was underperforming relative to his roster ... but if the GM was fired, does that mean that the team thinks the roster needs an overhaul? We'll see.
There you go! Happy Holidays!...Season's Greeting Jolts
