Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s war goal, saying the war on Hamas would be a “long campaign” and that Israel would not give in to “winds of defeatism”. The remarks follow reports of top generals seeking a truce. According to reports, top Israeli generals see a truce as the best way to secure the release of hostages, even if Israel doesn't achieve its goal. However, the Israeli PM and Army Chief Herzi Haveli have denied the reports. Halevi has said the destruction of Hamas’ infrastructure would take more time. Earlier, Israeli forces ordered Palestinians to evacuate Khan Younis and Rafah, forcing thousands of citizens to flee their homes.
