As a Brit, can I correct you. The currency of the UK is the Pound Sterling. It is not the Great British Pound. Yes, I know that some comparative lists of world currencies refer to GBP, but I promise you that no British person refers to the currency as Great British Pounds. I understand why non-British people might believe, from seeing the letters GBP on international currency lists, that Great British Pounds is the formal name of the currency. It isn't. You would be laughed at for calling it that. Just say Pounds.

With reference to the plugs/sockets, i think it should be mentioned that the voltage in England is 230/240 volts, so do make sure if you come with a charger that it will take a higher input voltage. or you could end up with a melted blob of metal and plastic!

A lot of US health plans, like Kaiser, will reimburse emergency medical expenses abroad, but research it before you leave. With Kaiser, for example, you need to get receipts for the local services and/or have the doctor sign a form. Find out what must be done on the spot, it might be impossible to get reimbursed after returning home if you didn’t follow the procedure.

To be pedantic it is not the greater British pound, but the pound sterling. Sterling is also used to describe the purity of precious metals. Incidentally the name of the country, Great Britain, is not some Victorian boast about how wonderful the country is, but a contraction of the original name. When the kingdoms of England and Scotland joined together, the new country was called Greater Britain.

Regarding your comment about taxis being expensive!
    Have you considered the reason?
We HAVE to drive a purpose built wheelchair accessible vehicle that cost £70,000 !!
We also have to spend at least 4 years doing the knowledge, without pay !
I just don’t understand how people in London can spend £12 for a bottle of beer without a care and then begrudge spending £20 for a safe professional drive home ?
I think you should have also mentioned that Uber ect are sometimes MORE expensive when they are surging!!

Plenty of other better towns, Cities, Counties than London and its Environs. London is congested and pricey, go elsewhere in England, simple 😉🙂👍

British food is SO much better than it used to be and it's great, if you get the right place. There are loads of good places to eat nowadays. The nonsense about British food being terrible is so boring and outdated!!

@@blueberrypie844 I live in London. It's awesome to travel to with the right guide. It's one of the most interesting cities in the world. And it's one of the most popular tourist spots for good reason. NYC is great also.
