    AMERICA = 2024??
We're a nation of frazzled families
With little time for personal affection.
As the treadmills of tension keep us hostage
We're losing our perspective of direction.
Racing to get the kids off to school,
Navigating the madness of bottleneck traffic.
Fearful of our own job-loss and income,
While the newscasts get more hopeless and graphic.
Helping our children with their homework
    Scrambling to prepare their dinner.
Having family spats with loved ones
And being told on Sunday, we're a sinner.
Worrying about crime, taxes, border and terrorism
Infectious disease and paying next month’s bills.
Saving for college and our own retirement
It's no wonder we drink, smoke, pray and pop pills.
Show me a liar and you have found a thief
Whose character is controlled by hell.
They love what's wrong and hate what's right
And they're lucky they're not all in jail.

Biden’s deported far more undocumented aliens than Trump or Obama. He withdrew Trump’s child separation & remain in Mexico policies & immediately asked Congress to enact a law that gave him $ to process legit cases, turn back others. That’s in the Constitution. This is why conservative Border Patrol, WSJ, Chamber of Commerce want the bill signed NOW. Repubs only opposed it when Trump demanded that. Rubio says Russia’s a major threat, then hold ip Ukraine funding when this border bill is strong enough to massively reduce illegal crossings & Fentanyl. He’ll let Putin take Ukraine unless he gets his way. Hypocrisy.

America developed and had a commanding lead in the alternative energy field. A certain portion of the American political spectrum stifled that movement and ceded our lead to China and Europe because they wanted to protect the entrenched energy interests. I have no confidence that those same politicians won't stifle our leads in the new technology fields for the same reason. After 20 minutes of what was thoughtful, intelligent conversation here, I see one of them lapse into disingenuous doublespeak on a different issue. Despite the first 20 minutes, I do not come away from this video with more hope.

I remember my Dad, watching shows like “Crossfire” and other shows, where they participated in bipartisan conversations and debates. Now, we mostly get commentary from the media interjected with selective sound bites taken out of context from politicians and others to create and/or push a narrative. They talk “at us.” Which is one of the major reasons why the mainstream media is in steep decline.

Authoritarianism is a political system characterized by the rejection of democracy and political plurality. It involves the use of strong central power to preserve the political status quo, and reductions in the rule of law, separation of powers, and democratic
authoritarian leadership style is described as being as "leaders' behavior that asserts absolute authority and control over subordinates and [that] demands unquestionable obedience from subordinates." Such a leader has full control of the team, leaving low autonomy within the group. The authoritarian person also presents a cynical and disdainful view of humanity, and a need to wield power and be tough, which arise from the anxieties produced by the perceived lapses of people who do not abide by the conventions and social norms of society (destructiveness and cynicism); a general tendency to focus

Let me get this straight - instead of allowing in the food trucks which are currently idling just outside the gates, and feeding the thousands who are starving today….the president wants to construct a costly floating port that might take months to build, and put thousands of U.S. troops into a war zone. What could possibly go wrong?

Politics has evolved into an occupation that allows very few men and women with an ethical character to survive in this environment. It is an experience that is primarily only viable if one is willing to take money and influence and understand PAY to PLAY controls outcomes . If one has ethics one will attract hard unrelenting retribution from forces one will never see coming. The very fact the polarities that now exist between political parties are epic and harmful is easily observed. The fact that a choice between Biden and Trump is the plate served to the American people is solid evidence the republic is already close to dead and just has not stopped breathing . How could any sane person with just a minimum of ethic concern look at politicians without wanting to involuntarily evacuate themselves.

Marco, we should stop relying on any President to use executive powers, to fix issues that should be handled by congress. Do your job! We need common sense laws drafted and passed with support by both parties. We have become so polarized, Presidents keep rolling back orders if the previous President wasn't on the same team. We currently have a divided government in terms of power, with no one party having enough power unilaterally, to fix these issues. The American people need to demand clean bills with no attachments. The attachments bog us down and we get nothing passed. Americans want to see more bipartisan led efforts to bring the temperature down in the country. We need to start with properly informing the public. For example, take these two together and put them on the airwaves, commercials and podcasts. However people consume media. We need to take these threats serioulsy. I'm a younger millennial and I see many people glued to their smartphones, every possible moment, mostly on social media all day. They would rather consume trash then spending at least five minutes a day, outside of social media, informing themselves on matters that can/will greatly affect their lives. We, as a country, need to stop being reactive, instead of proactive. America is still great, but we cannot remain on this trajectory without hurting ourselves and others. Bipartisanship is key!
