I am about to start this exact kit tonight. My grandad passed away about 10 years ago and left behind a shed full of model ships, planes, trains trucks & cars so I would really like to complete this and put it in my office in memory of him. I finally have the time to put towards this now that my kids are getting a bit older & I am so excited to get started on my first ever proper ship build. Thank you for sharing your video!
Thanks for sharing the pictures during your build. I'm working on this as my first ship model and there's a lot of detail in the plans but for someone new to ship building it's still really confusing. Your pictures help a lot.
Thanks for an excellent overview Ron, great job. Love the union jack! If im correct the actual ship was a French design, built by the American navy but captured by the British!

What kind of glue are you using? Its a good idea to use wood glue and hold it in place with pins while it dries. He also has a couple of other model ship videos where he talks about the different glues he has tried and what he prefers to use.

How long did it take you to build? Very well done.
I am struggling with the planking, glue does not seam to hold very well any ideas please would be so helpful , this is my first model .

Beautiful ship. Only rolled sails looks unrealistic.
They just need to be rolled a little tighter i tging and maybe thinner material.
