Thank you for talking about when you have to put a cat to sleep for their own good. The time is coming for me very soon, (My cat will be 21 at the end of this month, and he is currently in hospice care, and in the past week I've been getting signs that it might be time.) This really helped me feel better about having to make such an upsetting decision. i will look out for the grief camps.
I had to make that decision many times 😮💨 and feel your anxiety and pain...but Hold on to the quality of life you have shared for longer then most kitties live You have been an outstanding companian To allow your kitty to be released from age ailments is a sacrifice kitty will be thankful you will make My 💕 goes out to you both
@@milliegirl7514 thank you for saying this. It’s so hard I love him so much and I feel so scared to be without him, but I also cannot watch him degrade further and I know it’s a kindness in the end. This hurts so much.
I just thought I’d let you know I just gave my kittens their 3rd nail clipping ever. The first, I asked the vet to do on the kitties first ever wellness visit, a week after I got them from the shelter. The second, they were very reluctant to let me, but I got through it with more kitty scratches than I would have liked….So I have been making it a point to touch their paws when I pet them and let them know touching their paws is okay. Then this time, in between each nail clip, I gave them a crunchy treat. By the tenth nail they were giving me their paw so I’d clip another nail and give them another treat 😂. Cat bribery for the win 🙌🏻
I remember witnessing my first at home euthanasia. Everyone, including the kitty’s all got to say goodbye to Sapphire. While it was hard to see her go, it was good that we were all able to grieve in a safe environment and decompress. I miss Saph. She was the sweetest and most cuddly cat I’ve ever met.
I know this is an older live, but the conversation about fostering was needed. I've fostered a few litters and cried like an absolute baby wheb the first ones were adopted. But, they went to amazing homes. You have ti trust the rescues vetting process, although I also cried when I thought one of them was going to end up in the wrong home and the rescue was going to let it happen, because someone knew someone. I voiced my concerns and that little but if pushback caused the person to say "nevermind". That cat, who was my favorite at the time, ended up in his absolute perfect home. He has a big personality and loves to shoulder ride. He needed someone who would be hus buddy, not someone who thinks he's just a cat. He got his buddy and I was thrilled for him. We CANNOT keep them all. We cant. The more cats we keep during fostering, the fewer spots there are for homeless cats. I've happily handed over a kitten I syringe fed and worried over for weeks. She landed in her perfect home too. Eventually the more cats you keep, the less even your home is the perfect one. Learn to cry and let them flourish in their new home, where they are center stage.
Hi Jackson from California. I’m fairly new on TH-cam, but I have been watching your tv programs for years. You have given me a lot of insight on my fairly new rescue that we found in our wall. No clue how he got there but he’s been a blessing. Thanks for your time and videos.
Oh my goodness, yes, I was so grateful to be able to have an incredibly compassionate vet come to my apt when it was time to say goodbye to my 16 year old diabetic girl. I was so glad her final hours were at home. ❤️
I have a brother and sister duo, they are so well behaved indoor kitties. I've been harness training them since young they are almost 1yr in May, so I can take them for walks. My girl is more brave about it. ❤
some kitties like the walkies, some just want to lay in the grass or the sun for a little while - two of mine always want to go outside, but just to sit and look around for a minute then go back to the comforts they prefer, while another one loves going for adventures all around the neighborhood on a daily basis. then my fourth cat is more than content with just an open window, thanks.
Thank you, I'm French and have three cats home, two are mines and one is a foster one. I'm a new cat owner and I love them. Thank you for all tour vidéos which are giving me a lot of tips.
I used Hospice for one of my cats to put him to sleep. I had to be unselfish and think about what was best for him. He kept losing weight and was pitiful. I know he is not suffering anymore. 😢 It was hard but he had the best life.
I missed the live! But I’m watching the replay. I’m vegan too!! (Well whole food plant based) and we stayed in London and Paris in small boutique hotels that had their own kitchens so that we could cook our own food. Have a fun trip!! Glad you bring us cat stuff coz its really helped me to watch your videos and deal with my senior (20 yr old) cat.
@Carol La Plante You are still posting on my comment thread. Jackson won’t see your comments here. You’ll need to post them on the actual video thread.
I've had a cat for 10 years I got from a rescue. He's so playful, loving and secure. New people and other cats make him happy. He's never been the skittish kind to hide from the vacuum. He sleeps through it and prefers that I go around him. I adopted a stray I had been feeding on my patio for about 6 months and when I let her in they were already friends what with talking through the glass door for months. Then there's a third. I fed him and tried to find him a home for 2 years without luck. So freezing Temps came again and I let him in. Now we're one big and very happy family. They each have their own personality, and I cherish that. They are so good to each other and never try to get out. They love their shelter and love I give them. I just let them be and encourage them to feel safe. They come to me because they trust me. I love being that guy.
I grew up having cats. One thing I have learned is love and kindness and patience is the answer. Never scold or yell at your kitty. That will never bring good results. I've noticed that cats who are new to the family expect to be yelled at when they throw up on your bed. Instead express concern, give them cuddles and simply clean it up and just watch their love and trust for you grow.
I have several things: 1 - Thank you for your wisdom on the passing of cats. My previous 2 Cats passed away when they were each 18 (2 years apart). our first one we went to the Vet's office because our Sparkle was getting sicker by the day but overnight she lost her eyesight and fell and lost the ability to walk. So we had to take her to the vet. She was purring through the entire process until she drew her last breath. Our second one, Mandy, passed away peacefully on my side of the bed one day while I was at work and the kitten we got last year was laying beside her. The Kitten, Sammy, is now about 6 years old, A few months after Mandy passed Sammy was howling for a new friend and would howl the loudest when she would see a Cat or Dog on the TV. We did get her a new friend that week. Artemis is now 5 and they do get along sometimes. They will eat side by side and even switch bowls. Before we started watching your show on TV and learning that Dry food was not as healthy for our babies as Wet food was (for every cat I ever had we always had wet food at every meal). Sammy actually puts the dry food in with her wet or takes a bite of wet and then gets dry. We also do not leave dry out all day and only a tablespoon at a time at meal time. Sorry I like to share. So Sammy and Artemis get along sometimes, Eat together, use the same scratching posts (yes multiple everywhere), and even switch sleeping spots on each other (one in the window and on on the bed and then they switch). But there are times where one will walk up to the other and just smack them and walk away. -- WHY does this weird smacking happen. -- Suggestion for Topic maybe future video is Why do Cats follow us into the Bathroom, or anywhere we go in the house. Why do we get followed all the time. (If you have this already - I might have missed it or need to watch it again) It is just a funny topic and thought I would bring it up. --- I have always had cats and always will. I unfortunately am not in a position to foster at this particular time in my life but my husband and I would like to some day. --- ALSO have there been any videos where we see cats controlling dogs. My Artemis thinks she is in control when my daughters dog come over and he follows Artemis all over the house and just bows in front of her until she head bumps him. I will have to get a video to post. Sorry for the long post I just love my babies (past and present) and just love to talk about them. Thank you for listening.
Hi Jackson and CAT I just joined and I am so thrilled ! I will read a about it later just wanted to say Hi and let you know I have enjoyed your videos for years and now I just discovered there is a platform to help you out for all you do ! I just discovered you again yipee!! Deborah
Worlds best works well with my cat. But I just have one cat. Also? My cat is SOOOO hyper. Your tips on how to deal with play aggression really helped me a TON. I know now when to play with him is EXTREMELY important. Not just play with him, but time it out by watching his patterns.
Thanks Jackson for the advice on hyperesthesia. I will try to re-introduce wet food to my extremely finicky senior cat who once loved wet food, but ignoring it of late. This is a relatively new phenomenon for her and with having other daily maintenance digestive issues, I would love her golden years to be as stress free and cozy as I can make them. I hope she will cooperate! 🐱
I'm so glad you are going to do the canned cat food video. My Leo kitty has IBS and it is so hard to find a food he can eat. We used to give him blue buffalo limited ingredient, but since about 2 months ago he can no longer tolerate it. He also gets some dry food per the vet as he can eat only the Pure Vita chicken limited ingredient type. He actually goes to the vet every 6 weeks right now for a vitamin b shot and weigh in as he is slowly losing weight. Some of the weight loss is from age as he is between 16 to 20 years old, but some is due to his disease.
I'm so glad you agree about carbs and kibble. My fat cat lost weight simply by taking him off kibble. I did have a cat live to be 22 and he ate a lot of kibble but the next pair of cats got fat and didn't live as long. I use a meal completer, can mix the powder with cooked or raw meat of any kind. It's a lot easier than making their food and a lot better than any commercial canned foods.
Ombre the gray rescue who moved in with me a few weeks ago gets excited to see the TV remote. It's a streaming TV that my son left behind in his old room, which is now Ombre's. I work, and leave the TV streaming bird and mouse videos. He's got a window next to the TV, and he is able to jump from the TV stand to the windowsill. He doesn't know that the birds on TV aren't out the window, but he looks for them anyway, and you can see the gears moving in his brain. I also leave lots of small balls under/behind the TV, so when he sees a TV bird or mouse at the bottom of the screen, a ball catches his eye and he pounces on it. Right now I have to keep him shut in his room while I'm gone, but hopefully he'll have the run of the townhouse apartment after he gets neutered next week.
Hi Jackson, I have been saving a wall in my living room for clarification. Watched every video I can. Learned the measurements. I thought I was to begin my journey for Patch and Nelly and so excited for them to have this they more than deserve it! I began to start the shopping process which literally brought me to tears at the prices for items I made a list of. Please don't forget one minute so not believe I am hinting for hand outs, that's not my thing. It was my bad for not checking costs first. I live on mental disability which can be difficult BUT MY FUR BABIES NEVER SUFFER! If you or Meena know of any other way to obtain items like these please hit me up. Nelly is a tree dweller and Patch is a bush baby. Thank you for always being there for us! Peace out Mr. Mojo master tee hee!❤
Sheba wet food is the best for name brand food that isn't meat food. It's gentle on sensative tummies. My cat Coral has the most sensative tummy in the world and she can eat Sheba cat food with no yucky tummy issues coming out the other end later.
I missed the live. I'm in PA and my older fur baby is not doing so well.🥺 She is my baby and I am beside myself RN and don't even know what to do.💔Meowllion was the word though. Ty for all you do Jackson. 🙏
I just list my baby this past Monday. It was a total shock. I'm on the fence about getting either one cat or perhaps siblings. How long would it take a new cat to get acclimated to my home??
I lost my young boy cat 9 months ago, and I have a 6 month old girl now. I feel like passing out from the anxiety about spaying her soon - I see people on TH-cam comment on spay videos that their pets died afterwards but I don’t understand this because when I ask elsewhere they say it never happens. Why do they die? I feel as if I can’t do this. I would love you to make more videos about this issue - even Kitten lady doesn’t and I don’t know why.
It's actually very rare there's more risk of them type of cancers if u don't spay her tho never say never I can c u lov her I know you'll take her to the right vet
I think it’s from over anesthetizing them. I’ve heard of it happening and the kitty mom it happened to said to make sure they use gas instead of IV. I’m sorry you lost your boy 😢
There's always a small risk because of anesthesia but the older they get, the more "dangerous" it gets. And I think that for females, spaying actually prevents other health issues in the future (don't quote me here, I only had boys 😅) Spaying/neutering is the right thing to do. Sorry you lost your boy 😢 You're probably still grieving, that stuff takes time. 💛
Thankyou everyone. I’m taking her to a kitten only independent clinic with 5 star reviews but I’m still so sad to put her through the stress. She’s so happy and trusting and I feel like I’ll betray her. I’ve asked them to do blood tests before as well, I’ll ask about the gas…. I just don’t understand why any vet would use too much anaesthesia. I don’t understand why kitten lady and Jackson galaxy don’t speak about these feelings, they always make the neutering sound so great, but I read peoples aftercare experiences and it doesn’t seem great at all. Some say cats don’t trust you the same anymore. I don’t want to put her in a cage. She’ll be so sad to not be able to tear the house down. It would be nice if they made videos about these things.
It really depends on the vet. If you have a good one, no need to worry 😸👍. I have five kitties all fixed and didn't have any complications 😊. They develop very high anxiety being in heat all the time so fixing is 💯💯💯 worth it🥰
Glad I can rewatch this, but I did miss it live and the opportunity to ask you questions. Hoping next time. We have currently 4 (indoor, with catio) cats. They were all rescued, and not from an organization, I mean from the street or inside a car or on the freeway. Also, we have what I call two "committed" ferals that live in our yard; we have been feeding for almost 10 years. Why have they still never warmed up to us? why can I not touch them? I had to trap one a couple years ago to get him some much-needed dental work or he would have died. They are there morning and night for their meals, but still no rubbing on our legs or touching allowed. We can't get closer than about 2 ft. Also, I provide them with many different options of safe-dry warmer places to sleep and they will still be seen huddled up, sitting out in the rain or sitting on a cold piece of cement on the patio instead of a blanket that is 2 ft away... I don't get it!
Hi Jackson, i live in London Uk 🇬🇧 Great to here you are coming to explore London. Look up the Southbank, just by the river Thames, a great food place 👍🏻 safe travels, and enjoy 😺
I had to put down my dog of 15 years. It was, she was bleeding internally and they could not figure out what was wrong with her so putting my feelings aside, I said, I'm going to do what's best for the dog because I don't want her to supper, so I put her down. I still carry her Ashes with me all the time. She was my world, but now my world has been replaced by my Ginger. Kitty that I adopted during covid He got a horrific start in life and so I thought if I could make this little man's dreams possible. Then I have to go for it. Even though I have a slight allergy to Kitty's. We'll exist because I take medication for everyday. And he is so worth it as he used to be a wallflower when I first got in. And now he owns every single room in this house. Thank you for all that you do jackson
I don't scoop, I chuck. The whole tray that has been used. I use recycled paper litter but my cats are not indoor only. They are like me, they are in at night for most of the night, coming in between 8.30-10pm. They are up at 5 am or a little earlier and let out, because of Queensland cane toads, between 5.30-6am when the poionous toads have retired to their hidey holes again. They do what they wish to during the day as I am at home and the house is open. At present (it's summer) they spend the day lying in shade behind the hedges and trees which border all round the lawn in the back garden. At night they go to the driveway at the front. Or jump the fence at the side fence at the back into the left hand neighbour's pocket rear garden. With this good weather, they only use one litter tray per night, maximum two.
Thanks for your upload of the short about dementia. I have 2 cats that do that. One, I think, is just play. She finds her little ball and walks around and crys. The other is getting pretty old. 15+. He is deaf and is getting pretty thin. His thyroid is okay. He follows me around all day. He goes outside, and I have to check on him every 10 minutes or so. He's my best friend. I do anything for him. I have a couple other cats that I would love to talk to you about. The one attacks the other since it was a kitten. I watch all your videos and do everything, but can't stop her. It has upset our whole house. We have to keep them separate. We have rescued many cats and have 9 right now. Thought about trying to get in on the live stream, but was busy.
Hey Jackson! I'm so sorry I missed this! Loved the questions and answers. The prizes are catfab! Teeny tiny suggestion for next prize, if there is one...design an indoor and/or deck cattery for a person's house. I want one so bad but just can't decide how to do it!! But either of your current prizes would make me jump for joy right out of my pussin boots!
Gravity feeder doesn't function unless pushing it to the wall and water is going to dehydrate. I'm going to leave a lot of dry food in a large container for them and lots of water
That's a veterinarian question. No offense to Jackson or anyone at this channel (and I know they won't take offense), but even animal behaviorists have preferences based on what's good for their own animals, or what they've seen has worked for others, but it's not inclusive of all the options that veterinarians are aware of, or what they can research through their professional resources.
Hi Jackson, love your videos. I'm from the UK and we have a gorgeous black and white cat and watching your gids is superb. Try Airbnb because London itself is a absolute con on hotel prices very very expensive, personally if l was you I'd love on the outskirts of London for sleeping but overall I am sure your love London and the London Eye too 👍 keep safe too and travels
Hello Jackson Galaxy! I am in North Somerset. England. I have two female black cats who won’t stop fighting. One is post feral and is a scaredy cat. They have been together for 3 years and it isn’t getting any better. Please help me.
Hi have they been spayed if not it might b something 2 think about calm them hormones down a bit Also from cat's protection u can get a voucher u can take vets 2 get it done
Hi Johnny! I adopted 2 Gerald and have socialized them . They are my life and I’m being very good and trying to understand. They are now litter trained and great. There is a girl and a boy they love each other. The girl cuddles with me and comes whenever I call. The boy who seems like he was traumatized because any loud noise or quick movements scare him. I can pet him but only on his terms. I made him a nice bed in the closet where I can see him from my bed. He loves it but now I feel he’s feeling left out. What should I do and is he feeling left out? What should I do for his happiness?
Hi there Jackson, I’m in New Zealand 🇳🇿 I live on my sailboat with my puss cat Teddy he has been on the boat from being 18 month old and he’s now 7 years old be has sailed up to Fiji 3 times . I really enjoy your your shows 😎 Kim
Bonjour!!! My kitten Charlotte is almost 6 months and still pretends nursing on fuzzy blanket! Should I discourage her ! I adopted her at 8 weeks old! Thank you Jackson ! Have you been to France 🇫🇷 ?
You should never ask anyone to post their email in a public forum...Love you Jackson for trying to detour your partner for doing it. It's bad enough the trolls target us in the videos comments, just want to educate your partner here. Folks never ever post your personal info in a media forum.
Hi jackson i have an f4 savannah he is a very picky eater and recently had gardia he has recovered bur apetite mot great what foid would you revommend for him that would give homcextra protein❤
My 16 who had perfect bloodwork 6 mos. ago is drinking and peeing a lot. Seems particularly happy since he got a lion cut and became a tree cat ( formerly a bush cat.)
Male cat now 8 mo was my bottle baby, foster fail. He is SUPER affectionate and out going. He purrs and starts licking then he nips. How can I discourage this behavior? It is not that I’m overstimulating him with petting. It is not an agressive bite but strong enough to break the skin.
Hi Jackson! Why does my cat yowl when playing with one certain toy 95% at night and only occasionally during the day, but immediately stops whenever I come to check on her?
Hi Jackson, I live in a house with 4 cats my cat she is really fussy and grumpy about other cats stealing her food and going in her space, especially my housemates cats . I have given her a calming collar but is there anything else I can do to help her? Hoping to move to my Own place soon in the future but she likes her own space really . She likes her brother and tolerates other cats she dislikes them going in her spot and eating her food unless she has it first?
Is the cat micro chipped ? You can get one of those microchip feeders. I will warn you tho … the cat really has to stick her head close to the opener for it to open. I just bought one for my 15 year old cat bc I’m renting while I’m out of town and there are mice. I caught a mouse in her food. So I got one of those microchip feeders. But she doesn’t always stick her head close enough to sensor so she can’t eat. You are suppose to keep it open at first to train them but it hasn’t worked for my cat so well. The reviews are really good tho
Hey Jackson, This is Lorraine from Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. I always keep an eye out for little strays. Have a little one that is so feral he only comes around at night to eat. Any idea on how we can alleviate his fears? Feel so bad for these little fur babies.

So very sorry this is happening. Sending love and gentle hugs.
My question is how has he managed to keep his weight down.

You are very welcome! Please take care n good luck in your future!!!!! ❤🎉

Terry here from AL. I just adopted teen sisters! Thank you for all your guidance!
Thank you for saying there are plenty of wonderful homes out there.
Worlds best works well with my cat. But I just have one cat. Also? My cat is SOOOO hyper. Your tips on how to deal with play aggression really helped me a TON. I know now when to play with him is EXTREMELY important. Not just play with him, but time it out by watching his patterns.
And throughout this whole thing his main focus is to give other people shout outs for helping?!?! FREAKING GEM!
Kitty Holstet !!! And similar vest type harnesses . Ones that they can't back out of. 🎉❤🎉
Keep being you and doing what you do. Love your videos❤
Hi Debbie from Ireland 🇮🇪. I tune into you almost every day 😀
This was so awesome!!!❤❤❤ Thanks Jackson "Cat Daddy"! Meow
Watching this late but from Ontario, Canada! Thank you for everything!
Hello hero!! Thanks for your great work!!❤
Thanks Jackson for the advice on hyperesthesia. 🐱
So happy to hear that you are vegan. I didn't know that and it makes me love you even more even though I already did.
Hello from Millie in Connecticut! Love you show & chats!!
Good day from the great Pacific Northwest in Spokane Washington!
Thank you, for your honest answer. I see things from a better perspective now.
Jackson you made a wonderful life my cats ❤ thank you, from Holland
I'm so glad you are going to do the canned cat food video. My Leo kitty has IBS and it is so hard to find a food he can eat. We used to give him blue buffalo limited ingredient, but since about 2 months ago he can no longer tolerate it. He also gets some dry food per the vet as he can eat only the Pure Vita chicken limited ingredient type. He actually goes to the vet every 6 weeks right now for a vitamin b shot and weigh in as he is slowly losing weight. Some of the weight loss is from age as he is between 16 to 20 years old, but some is due to his disease.
My daughter was in Spain Madrid, and loved it for a year
1 meowillion Love to all JG kitties! Our Rescue has referred EVERY single one of our fosters and adopters to JG education 😆
Hello from Kentucky, originally from California.
Love the British old world shows.
I thank you for your understanding of cats. Has has helped me a lot
Greetzs from San Antonio, Tx ...I have 2 cats who found us somehow....thanks Jackson!
Canyon Lake here👋
I just list my baby this past Monday. It was a total shock. I'm on the fence about getting either one cat or perhaps siblings. How long would it take a new cat to get acclimated to my home??
Thank you so much!!! 💗🐈💗🐈💗🐈
Hello Jackson! Big hug from Boston. ❤❤❤Karin and Vivi 😊
They develop very high anxiety being in heat all the time so fixing is 💯💯💯 worth it🥰
Pamela Macdonald from Staffordshire England and Ludo my Bengal baby. We love the videos 😻
I love your shows from Delaware!
Hello im from Memphis Tn!!!!
Watching from Myrtle Beach s c 🏖️ great video as always👍🐾🐈⬛😺💝😊🎸🐈
Hi from Canada! Love your videos ❤
😂 hi Jackson I love your show you have great information about cats im from newzealand
Hello from Rock Island, Illinois
13:40 He said let me show you this thing on my phone. So iconic!
I am 24 and that is how I show my friends things. I love how much I can relate to Jackson
Hi Jackson! So enjoy your broadcasts! Marie with “Banksy” from Rhode Island
Vegan Jackson with carnivore cats! That's Balance.
12 points from the Netherlands. 🙋🏼♀️
Gravity feeder doesn't function unless pushing it to the wall and water is going to dehydrate. I'm going to leave a lot of dry food in a large container for them and lots of water
Wonderful!!!❤❤❤
Re watch from Cambodia, since it is midnight when this airs live.
Hi, Nellie from Florida, What is your solution for fleas, what is a product that works? Thank you. Love your segements.
Hi Jackson, what do you recommend for ticks? One of our cats had a bad reaction to the topical stuff so I was looking at collars for our 3 cats.

I meant 2 ferals
Hi I'm from NJ I don't know if you'll get this can you spray Lysol around the cat's litter box is that safe for them
I just got off a fun hike in St. George Utah
Hello from Culver City, California
Meows to you from my 3 cats Felix, Wilma, and Brave..
Mine does that too!
My female feline does the same thing when she is carrying her toy in her mouth. I think she's pretending she's a mommy carrying her kitten😻
hey love your show😊
Hi Jackson, I live in a house with 4 cats my cat she is really fussy and grumpy about other cats stealing her food and going in her space, especially my housemates cats .
Hmm maybe haven’t looked into it
I have been to England twice. Awesome 😎
Hey Jackson,
This is Lorraine from Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. I always keep an eye out for little strays. Have a little one that is so feral he only comes around at night to eat. Any idea on how we can alleviate his fears? Feel so bad for these little fur babies.
Thank you for helping the lil' strays 😻
