My Jedo (Grandfather) who is Lebanese born in Haifa Palestine said this was his favourite movie he watched. In Kuwait growing up many of us Arabs also grew up watching what we called "Hindi Films" and ZeeTV and if you watched cricket well then you heard the Chivas Regal ad a million times and know its the Gentlemans drink lol

I watched this movie in my 4th standard when children were shown such wonderful movies by School Authorities. I am 70 years old now but this movie brings tears in my eyes every time I watch this movie

I read this story when i was in 4th standard and i was so touched by the emotions that was portrayed in it. Years after, today when i was explaining my tution student about this chapter and i was crying from inside. I don't know how to put it but all i can say is that my tongue went numb. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Tears trickled down my eyes at the end of the movie. Kabuliwala's love towards the young girl who reminded of his daughter Amena in Kabul. WA, USA.
If anyone wants to know what a true " pathan" character is, Balraj Sahni in " Kabuliwala " is the one to watch !
As for the songs, " Eh mere pyare watan " is a more famous song from this film.But I personally found the Afghani group song " Ya Kurban " to be quite equally good.

I had read this story by RN Tagore in class 10 non detailed odisha board but never watched in movie.kabuliwala character drew tears from eyes.story is very motivating and value based and reflects love and compassion.

i searched yrs for this film, thanks for posting. i was 8 yrs old at that time. every sunday one award film will be telecasted at that time in doordarshan. i saw this film in 80's in doordarshan along with my grandfather. he told the story. now my grandfather is no more. I remember him now, that time i couldn't realize this film. now im 45 i could feel now.

'Ganga aye kahase' the song is influence by the vatiyali genre song of bengal 'Amay vashaili re' and use beautifully in this movie based on Rabindranath thakur.such a masterpiece movie. Many osker winning movie dont have this kind of heart touching story, screen play and direction. Speacially the child actor of the film did amazing performance.I literally cry after a long long time.❤❤❤
