Why can't everyone teach like this! THANK YOU! You make learning accessible, thank you.
Thank you, Professor. Your explanations are clear, and I now understand the concept.
You knocked this topic out of the part so concisely and quickly. Excellent job.
An expert in the field, a great way of teaching such a complex and technical research
thanks Dr Whitney, i was confused about experimental research design but though your explanations now am clearly understanding the concept.
You re excellent!!
I ve been struggling to undertand this
You made it so simple I am aazed
Why don't teachers teach in this wonderful way!
Thank you
After 2 other video explanations, yours was the one that helped me understand the concepts. Thank you!!!
Thanks! :)
Precise yet very useful !
Exactly what I was looking for...
Thanks a bunch.☺
The concepts in your video are so clear, thank you!
Superb explanation, with accurate example
You are a great teacher! I could never understand this concept. Now I can!
Thank you so much, I recommend this because this video makes me more understanding than what my teacher says.
Okeh
You’re excellent! Thank u so much for making this amazing video!.
Thank you! About to start my research for a business-related degree, and this simple explanation has helped clarify a lot 😊
An excellent explanation! Thanks!
Thank you for your amazing teaching
Thank you so much, i was struggling with this topic in my biology class, and I found your video and I was able to get my info correct except for the controlled groups
I'm actually studying experimental psychology, but this is the closest available vid on youtube, i hope it translates well
Great video. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much. Great lecture, again.
Thank you Prof. Really nice explanation
Excellent video!
Ashley Bryant GOL 106 V1. I learned that scientific research must be studied using a control group, a baseline, to compare against a study group, a group that has exactly on variable that is different than the circumstances of the control group and is then compared against the control group to accurately determine what the effect of the given variable is.
Great video! Thanks
sound quality could be improved, but you're a natural at this, so keep it up
very informative
Thanks! This is an older video and I have better microphones now.
THIS IS SO HELPFUL for my sixth grade science class
Thank you for your clear explanation
For some research, it's beneficial to have multiple characteristics that differ the experimental group from the control group. In my area of research, we're currently exploring the effect gene mutations have on the efficiency of protein activity. Because of the nature of epigenetics and how various genetic loci can regulate gene expression, it's essential to test how various combinations of multiple amino acid mutations affect protein translation and activity. And then comparing the different mutation combinations against one another to identify possible links between genetic loci based on observing a significant difference in protein activity. In this case, the control serves as a way to verify that the proteins were naturally translated and could function at a standard degree of efficiency in the particular cellular environment of the study.
Thanks so much help with my daughters homework
Loved the explanation thanks
thanks so much very helpful
I wish my professor explained it this way!!!!!
This is exactly what I needed. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
so thanks mam
Thank you!!!
wow! I had a sci lab and this was so HELPFUL!
Thanks!
You’re welcome!
thank you
Nice!
Magnificent 👏👏👏👏
perfectthank you so much
Dr. Whitney can u make videos based in psychological experiments
thank you very much but i didn't get the video of scientific method of you
how do you perform a Design of experiment using different levels of different parameters.
I’m sorry, I need more information to understand what you are asking.
im so happy my teacher toght me dis
It’s a very important topic that is often glossed over
Question. "The controlled variables don't affect result." I thought the result is den dependent variable? If yes, then the controlled variables have an affect on the result?
The controlled variables are not ment to affect the result. They keep the experimental environment and surroundings the exact same to increase accuracy.
Thanks!
I got it
Great! 😄
Hi I m a new research scholar..I have decided to conduct an experiment with 1 control group n 2 treatment groups..Shall I take a total of 30 samples for all the 3 groups together?
To determine adequate sample size, you can do a test called a power analysis. A statistician can help with this. Otherwise, you are guessing. 30 samples total (10 per group) may be acceptable, but it’s definitely on the low end and may not be a large enough sample size. If you can reasonably do 20 or 30 per group, that’s probably better. But it’s hard to know without more information and a power analysis.
@@BiologyProfessor Thanks a lot for the reply..
Thanks
You are welcome 🤗
Thank you, you video saves my dissertation
Thank you Dr. Whiteny I really Like your explanation , l have very advance questions about groups . can i get you email
Keep up
