Twenty years ago, alone in my hostel room i listened this song.... I cried the whole night because of the overwhelming joy that came from knowing i am loved, and that love will never let me go...... still tonight i can not hold back my tears listening to that same song.... a song of love, eternal love that is for me.... O what a love....

Going through some heavy stuff, right now, and this song came screaming through my spirit. It's amazing how God put the right song in the right place at the right time to let you know that He's not now or ever going to let me go. Thank you, Father. I needed this.
Sitting down after doing my Bible reading for the night, this song came into my spirit, so touching, so intimate, just to know that our Lord and Savior has such great love for us all. What an Awesome God we serve.🙌🏽🙌🏽

This song came to mind as I struggled with a relationship situation and realized that only the Lord can go back and heal it, So I give it to Him now.
Listening to this makes me wonder what the choir in heaven will sound like...impossible to fathom the greatness of The Lord :-)

George Matheson was born in Glasgow, the eldest of eight children. He had only partial vision as a boy. By the age of twenty he was completely blind. When his fiancée learnt he was going blind and that there was nothing the doctors could do, she told him she could not go through life with a blind man. He never married. He was helped by a devoted sister throughout his ministry. She learnt Greek, Latin and Hebrew in order to aid him in his studies. Despite his blindness, Matheson had a brilliant career at the Glasgow Academy, University of Glasgow and the Church of Scotland Seminary. When he was forty years old, something bittersweet happened. His sister married. Not only did this mean that he lost her companionship, it also brought a fresh reminder of his own heartbreak. In the midst of this intense sadness, on the eve of his sister’s marriage, he wrote one of the most popular and best loved hymns of the Christian church - ‘O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go’. He completed the whole work in five minutes and never edited, corrected or retouched it. ‘This came,’ he wrote, ‘like a dayspring from on high.’ *O Joy that seekest me through pain, I cannot close my heart to thee; I trace the rainbow through the rain, And feel the promise is not vain, That morn shall tearless be.*

I've never before watched Anthony Burger watch them and react as they sang that song. That is nothing less than true admiration from a musical master. I miss Anthony Burger - pianist of Heaven surely!

I saw this first time on CD in maybe 2009-2010. This cant be 2012 live. Anyway, i was here to write how good this performance is. Good harmonies and good singing skills. Those low notes by Gaither...chills!
The cd is maybe from 2009 or 2010. 2012 was only the date of posting on TH-cam.
It's from 2003. Before David left the GVB the first time. Fabulous.
This is from the Australian Homecoming Video, not available on CD.
This performance was in Australia at the Sydney Opera House.
This line up was the original lineup for this arrangement.
