  • I spent more than a week in the city of Tsukuba つくば市 Japan at the University of Tsukuba. This was my first time in Japan and the beginning of a six city mega tour across Japan (including Tokyo, Sendai, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Hiroshima). Tsukuba has only around 200,000 people as in Ibaraki prefecture 茨城県. I was in town to work on a couple math papers with some colleagues of mine at University of Tsukuba and to speak at the number theory seminar there. I had a very nice experience and got to explore this sleepy, but very interesting city close to Tokyo.

I really loved this vid. The moment I saw Japan in the title, I just had to watch. Looking forward to further videos of Japan.
Also, the reason why you don't see that many people in Tsukuba, is because of a declining population concern and that most of the people move to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka.
