    Differential cooler works for sure better if you put input hose connector straight backside of the ring gear (where it is pretty near) and output front side of differential/ ring gear, oil flow around ring gear while driving and for sure then there is flow throught cooler

    Hi, I am planning a swap for my Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ chassis). In Europe, South Africa and Australia I think it was offered with an OM612 but I want something fully mechanical, 200+ horse power.
    I love the look of your setup and it should fit probably.
    I'm really hoping I can find a suitable engine that will bolt in using the same motor mounts as the OM612. Do you know if the engine mounts stayed constant on the 5 cylinder Mercedes diesels?
    These aren't something many people play with over here so it's hard to find info.
    Also German Hot Rodders are a bit different than their American counterparts. We tend to get an idea and then make it work, while you seem a bit more methodical. But me, I would like to see if I can have stock motor mounts so the vibration is not like a race car.
    I will be subscribing to your channel and watching anything else you post, but what's the basic recipe of your OM605, or how would you buy an OM605 engine (used) and what would you do to add a turbo and put on a full mechanical pump for good torque, not huge power, good economy, good durability and as low a budget as feasible?
    My Jeep will be a rock crawler/overlander with probably 35" tires (about 900mm tall) and I hope to run it on filtered waste vegetable oil mostly so I can actually afford to explore this huge country.
    Lastly, my Jeep has an automatic transmission, no WJ has a manual so I figure I should stick with automatic instead of try to add a clutch pedal somehow. Do you know if the bell housing of an OM605 matches an OM612 or is there a good transmission that fits the OM605 and a 231 style transfer case for 4wd?
    Thanks for the help.

    Hello
    You have mentioned that you water temp didnt rise above 90 degrees
    Meanwhile i drive my stock om605 turbo for about 15min uphill full throtle and my temp goes crazy to near 100 degress
    Is there any DIY to solve that problem via plugging new water lines or something else like that ?

    Excellent German attention to detail, well done! I also have an external oil cooler on my OM605 twin-turbo W202 C250TD. My oil pressure also isn't too great. What pressure are you having now after the modifications? What pressures did you have before?

    • @CZSMotorsport
      @CZSMotorsport  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Before when it was hot only 1,5bar at idle and around 3 to 3,5bar at higher revs. Now when hot 3 bar at idle and 5 bar at higher revs.

      @@CZSMotorsport Wow, that previous oil pressure wasn't even that bad to begin with! Where are you taking your oil pressure measurements from (exit or entry oil gallery)?

    Hallo, was für eine Ansaugbrücke hast du da genommen? War die von einem 606? Meine vom originale vom 605 ist mir bei 1.6 -1.7 bar Ladedruck geplatzt.. 😣

    The changes you made are good. The HX40 in 12cm exhaust housing works well on engine this size. Do you know what rpm you see full boost?
    Also, what rear axle ratio do you have and is it 210mm? Thank you for another great video...

    • @CZSMotorsport
      @CZSMotorsport  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thank you, full boost around 3k. Rear axle ratio 2,82 big 210mm diff from w210. Best regards

    Why do you use a wastegate on a mechanical pump diesel? The boost level is set by how much cc of diesel your pump is set to deliver! Not like in a petrol engine!
