    Amazing video. This is all exactly right. You hit the nail on the head or I guess you got your bean arch to connect at the top. Thank you. I have a hard time talking about this show with people without crying so now I can just show them this.

      ah the phenomenon of crying when we try to explain the show....

    Gutted that the show got cancelled
    We need his sincerity and his life philosophy more than ever. The pumpkin episode profoundly effected me in a way I didn’t know was still possible. Thank you Joe

    Gentleman, at first you had my curiosity with the Darius video essay, but in knowing that you are one of the only other people in the world to have experienced this show, you have my attention.

    Wow, I loved this. You succinctly articulated so many things I felt about JP and his work that I haven't been able to put to words.
    I esp appreciate the cultural analysis. I share the experience of having grown up in a working class agricultural region, gone to public school etc, and now I live in brooklyn and most ppl in my circle grew up in coastal cities and unironically love shows like Schitt's Creek...it's SO refreshing to see representation that doesn't punch down at those cultures. You hit the nail on the head bringing up specificity....that is so key.

      As a lifelong Floridian, one I've always been quite fond of was Raising Hope. It's set in a fictional town (most say likely around California, tho it was inspired by "Raising Arizona"), but the antics were VERY Florida, and instead of punching down it humanized the "white trash" stereotype in a very wholesomely sweet, yet extremely familiar, way. (plus, funny as all get out!)

      we definitely haven't seen the last of him. I think he has a special he's filming and another movie/show potentially in the works

      so glad you watched!! and he still does an iteration of it from time to time in brooklyn (i think it's at the bellhouse now, used to be at NY Distilling when i went) called the Dan & Joe DVD Show. It's Dan Licata (writes on the show and for SNL and radio host in church announcements ep) and Joe hosting and usually would have like jo firestone, conner o'malley and some really great comics

    Love this video and love the concept for your channel. I would like to see a video on Dream Corp LLC if you’ve ever seen it. It’s also a super niche unique tv show but unlike anything I’ve ever seen before

    Send this video to Adult Swim so they can fully grasp the profound error they’ve made and what it’s far-reaching repercussions are likely to be- a world without Joe Pera Talks With You is a world in which hope is a little bit less accessible to all of us. It takes time for people to find the really good things, and networks often cancel them before that happens. Joe Pera is what is needed for a world that has gotten ahead of itself, and big networks need a lesson in that perhaps even more than anyone else.

    WHY DID THIS SHOW GET KILLED OFF?!!!

  • @joachim595
    @joachim595 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great content. No need for the expression toxic masculinity though. Surely Joe would never use it because he presents a much more holistic view of humanity.

    I could never get into him because his "voice" feels so fake and condescendingly nice.
