If you have this camera as your first venture into the medium format world, this video is all you need. All others seem to make too many assumptions about prior knowledge. Thank you, you've filled in all my missing knowledge! :D
Thank you, Monsieur! Great information but I am tired now from standing on my head:) trying to get the orientation of my camera to match up with yours. I am looking forward to taking mine out tomorrow to try it out!
By far the best video for the 1000s. Thank you! Chris I have a AE prism but it’s not the shutter priority one. I purchased it off eBay all it has is ASA dial and a “on/off” switch on the right side. It does have a meter but not to sure if there’s a manual for it. This isn’t the one I wanted to get like you have. Any help?
This is a very clear and instructive video, it's definitely helping me decide what I want for a Medium format SLR. been looking at old Soviet designs, the Pentax 645, the Mamiya 645 and the Bronica, currently leaning towards the Mamiya in terms of the balance of quality and price.
Thanks, I am glad you found it usefull. In my experience, soviet cameras are are great to use when they works. But tend to brake down very easily. Go for one of the japanese make you mentionned, and I don't think you will be desapointed.
I just got a 645 1000s and I'm having a hard time firing the shutter its locked. I don't have film in it and it seems you were able to fire it without film. Do you know what I may have locked? I've been using an RB67 for awhile so this is a little different for me
Google the instructions manual as a pdf ! Make sure it is in “multi” then advance the film and check if your battery is good. When you have it in multi , the camera has to be wound using the lever until it stops then it should let you test it without film in it

My film advance wants to go around twice before it will fire in single shot
Have you shot with a flash on this camera
i have the 645 j since 3 years, good condition over all, but now i have to make new light seals....what can i do best?
You can find the seals on line quite easily, replacing them should not be too hard.

Check the battery. If it's low the shutter won't work
