When Life Hands You Hurricanes...Make Hurricanes
Hurricane Hilary is bearing down on Death Valley. Will our compound survive the storm? Will the driveway get washed out -- again?? And most importantly...will the roads flood and prevent me from towing my trailer to Burning Man???

Holy Cow a Cameo by Wonder Sister 😂
Collect some drinking water.
Yes! What a great surprise. My two favorite vixens!!🔥
Epic Update, thanks! Have fun at Burning Man! Happy Sis isn’t so shy anymore 😍
💙❤️
❤ Wonder Sis!!
She's very cute 🥰 is she single ? I'd love to make a trip to Death Valley
It's so great to see you and your sister playing in the rain.
I'm happy to see that you survived the Great California Hurriquake of 2023. ☮💙
Beaver dams? In the desert where there is no food for them? Really?
@@desertPerson
Install gutters and run the water away from the foundation would help.
Where do you buy rain gutters in the desert?
What water? That was a years worth of water at once. Don’t normally need gutters…..
@@lhollybow Lol
@@kymcrowart7876 Spot on
Something we should correct her on is it isn't a one in one hundred year flood, it's a one in one hundred chance that it will flood, those odds are only increasing, if planning on keeping any building long term and not wanting the soil/stones under it to get soft on one side, creating cracks in the building from the weight, then gutters definitely help in avoiding that. Moving that water into a tank would add so much value and protect the existing value at the same time.
"So keep that in mind Billy-Bob the next time you want to take the quad out on the mud hills!" 😅😅😅
Wow! Your sister is really cool and a hard worker.
It was nice to finally see Eliza's lovely face. When you fix the driveway put a water bar across the top to direct the water off to the side. This will go a long way towards saving it the next time
Yes, when the rainstorms become so frequent it is time to install some de-watering measures like we all have in the rest of the world...
Dig some gutters, put water bar at the top, eventually maybe densify the driveway or put asphalt on it.
You took the words out of my mouth.... I would recommend one about every 30 feet or less... that would stop a monsoon ....
We're thinking on buying a old tractor and restoring it. To not only keep the weeds down but for grading our road in high desert cali unless you have a designated road you are on your own repairing it. With the cost of having to have someone do it for you it's cheaper to do it on your own day after the " storm" Beyond our gate was a river so now it's sand rocks and assorted detritus lol. It's good to have lifted 4wd vehicles for sure.
GET A COUPLE OF GARDEN RAKES AND EVEN -OFF THE ROADWAY Rocks do not move when it rains
@alexshatzko1381 moving water moves rocks after it washes the soil from around them. The dirt that was in the ruts in the driveway is at the bottom or washed down the road. The fix is to divert the water and slow it down. Simple to do if you know how
Wonderhussy I just realized that after this storm. There will be massive desert flowers blooming every where.😊
My prayers are answered. Miss Wonderhussy is safe and still has a place to call home.💘
Into every life a little rain must fall. But com'on Death Valley?! The Paddington hussy look is cute. The Hurricane should be a featured drink at Burning Man this year. I look forward to seeing the Wonderhussy experience at the playa. Always a special good time. Stay safe Sarah. ❤️
Sarah got to repeat the experience - the playa got several inches of rain dumped on it between Saturday and Sunday. It's made the entire area except serious 4wd vehicles, completely impassable. Currently 70,000 people are trapped there
Sarah has renamed it "Soggy Man" 🤣
Amazing artwork from your lovely artist friend.💛🧡💜
Sarah Jane, Thanks for sharing, nice to see Eliza. Glad you both are ok.
So glad that you & sis are safe. Nice to see "Shyliza"(Eliza). She's a dang good worker ! I recall her working on the roof. I hope the Burning Man playa dries up, in time for the burn.
Why didn't your sister go with you ?
Wonderhussy and the Hoops! How kewl 😂
What a wet and muddy adventure Hilary was. Hey there was even a wild ass crossing the road. Thanks for the look in. Stay safe Sarah and sis.
She's going to burning man. There's going to be a lot wild asses there
Yippie! You are off and running! Your excitement shines through!
One of my most favorites NP ; thanks for the condition report
You might want to rethink the whole middle aged hooker look after Reno. Arm pits look shorter. Well its a start.
@rogersmith7396 wow Roger is back stinking up the place & now the dementia is worse because ya can't even manage to make your own posts
You're tagging on to every person on here like poop stuck to a shoe 💩💩💩💩
Well your hiatus was nice while it lasted
Thank you for posting this update.
We have watched so many of your videos that we feel as if you were actually part of our family, like our own little sister.
We truly worried about Eliza and you and your home compound.
And we prayed for you two.
Love you gals!
I love Death Valley life! Cozy adventures right outside your back door. I’m so glad you were able to make it to Burning Man. 😎
Even when the temp is like 1hundred and thirty fricken degrees ?
It's always hot, super cold in winter.
@@yettimannettii2039 😂 I’m used to it. I live in southern Arizona. We have relatively the same temperatures as Tecopa, Ca.
Wonder Hussy you have a safe, but crazy fun time at Burning man. I can't wait for the vlog which I live vicariously through! 🎉🎉🥳
It was a nice little video and I am glad to see you survived the hurricane, which you don’t get to often. Go Burning Man and be safe.
I was expecting a "Wizard of Oz" category storm the way the news was building that storm up. 2 days of clouds and a long drizzle for 24 hours here in Moapa Valley...Glad your safe Sarah...better safe than sorry! Florida has "Hurricane Parties" after all the prep work is done. Maybe Death Valley should too...! 😎
Kirsty's a bold artist -- she literally did paint "everything in there!" Nice work, Kirsty!
Your tail gate looks FANTASTIC, Wonderhussy. The one on the vehicle, too❗💜🍸
Nothing can stop Wonderhussy! You look so fricking cute in those boots! Glad you guys weathered the storm!
Its good to know that you were not to adversely affected by the storm.... Im glad that your healthy, happy, and have an insatiable thirst for adventure.... You keep us entertained but more importantly educated.....
That is so cool to see the water running like that thank you.
When I was stationed at Fort Sill, Oaklahoma in the early 90s we'd get biblical rainstorms that would shut down the whole post except for essential personnel, and most of Lawton, Oaklahoma. No where for the water to go because it's so flat!
You (or more likely Wondersister) could get the old yellow cement mixer spinning and make a nice beveled concrete perimeter for the house in place of sandbags. First by the previous seepage and sandbags, then the whole perimeter.
Then because making concrete is such fun, a little gutter arrangement on and adjacent to the driveway could guide water away before building up a head of steam going down the driveway. Phase 1 of the project is to make a diversion above wherever the worst washouts were. Map/measure out where the damage was, before having it repaired. Instead of marking the actual spots, which would get obliterated during the repair, offset the stakes by the length of a garden hose, rope, tape measure or whatever. You stand in each damaged spot with one end of the hose perpendicular to the driveway, while sis drives in a stake at the other end.
Good to see that you and Wondersister survived the Desert Deluge :-)
Have fun at Burning Man! :-D
Fla Native here---If I tell you a rooster dips Snuff, Check under the wing for the Can. I told you anything in the #4-5 Cat start packing and GTHO! other than that, forget it. Gold star for your sister and these guys helping you out when they didn't have to-- got my vote. Have a Great time from a fan.
I really enjoyed how you walk in the soak ground with your boots
Lovely white dress WH, Looking forward to your next Burning Man trip 🎉
Glad you and sis are safe!
Need to install a couple of small open top cross drains to the incline driveway to channel the water. A few on the lower road may help.
OMG I can hardly wait for the Burning Man video!! I'm glad things were ok at the compound after the storm!!! Xo
Hope you and you sister are having fun at Burning Man. Did post tropical storm Hillary rain at the Playa as well? Hope it, at least, if it did rain, it kept the dust down. Maybe, it won't be as hot there as it was last year. Have fun, Sarah! 😊
I know it is a pain in the rear but it is life given water that you don't see very often.
Wisdom from South Louisiana…. Sandbags only work to stop waves from crashing into walls ect.. they don’t stop any water from passing through. 😁🤷🏻♂️
Nice to see your sister. First time I've seen her. You are both beautiful:-)❤
Its unbelievable to see your home can be a target for a rainstorm. That hot, dry area. Nature is amazing.
You love it. Now you can plant some flowers. Catch some pupfish for dinner.
"Nature is amazing"? Tra la-la. It appears climate change is even more amazing.
Don't forget your copious assortment of illegal life shortening drugs. Because thats what all hip intelligent twinkies do.
im goin in ta sin sitty :)
Sandy here: so happy you and Eliza are OK. Safe travels and have fun ❤❤ Sandy
“Keep that in mind, Billy Bob!” 😂👏
Drainage requires a lot of engineering.
-crown the driveway
-add a hump to keep the driveway from draining the flat area above it.
-Install some area drains.
The "tracks washing away in the rain" on the mud hills is the problem. When they ride their ATVs on them they tear up the ground cover plants, which is what keeps the whole hillside from turning to muck and sliding down into the lowlands.
Put some builders plastic under the sandbags. I think you also need gutters to control the water flow.
My first time to see your sister's face on camera. Good to put a face with the name. Have fun at Burning Man.
Your ‘pedington layout here is golden 🐻
Nice video wonderhussy have fun at Burning Man be careful on the road
We take rain for granted here in Tennessee.
We've had our share of leftover hurricanes and floods. It crazy sometimes.
Glad you guys are safe
Your sis is really cute and such a hard worker. I hope we get to see more of her from time to time!
This one is a masterpiece! Thanks!
Death Valley and the burn areas in San Bernardino got the worst of the storm. But as usual the media hyped up this "event". It was a nice break in So Cal because there was little traffic and the parking lot of our favorite pizza place was empty. Say hello to Wonder Sister and it was great to see her beautiful face.
She lives in Tecopa Ralph, not Deathe Valley. Pahrump got 4" of rain sun night.
It was an interesting storm to watch.
@@TheBandit7613 I wasn't saying that she lived in Death Valley. As far as the burn areas in So Cal, I was talking about places like Cherry Valley where roads got washed out. Isn't Pahrump in Nevada??? I don't concern myself with other states, I stay in my lane.
@@ralphalvarez5465 Pahrump is on the state line, some neighborhoods are on the bad (Calif) side.
The Spring Mountains (here) are wrecked from the rain. On the Vegas side, our public works still hasn't opened the roads. People are talking about evacuating the areas. We are not allowed to take our Jeeps up there, they closed it and it's supposed to be a huge fine.
Sara is a good storyteller but completely full of chit. I guess the two go together.
The first time I visited Death Valley (Maybe 05? Not sure) a “thousand year” flash flood had just passed through days before. It was quite a site, roads closed due to damage, cars washed down washes… really something. The MOST AMAZING THING about all that rain is that the desert EXPLODED with color! EVERYTHING bloomed very dramatically. A beautiful scene.
I hope all your friends at Villa Anita weathered the storm unharmed and in damaged!
Not every day you get to splash through puddles in DV!
That's cool you and your sister holding down the fort. Some gutters and downspouts on the Veranda will help direct the water away from the foundation with a direct underground drain to daylight.
Route the downspouts into a rain barrel and you can dip a bucket in and use it to flush the toilet, pouring a bucket of water into the toilet bowl will flush it
@@kelhart4736 That's not a bad idea. Recycle what comes from your sky ladies.
Stay safe in the rain and flood, have fun at the burning man, looks like fun, beautiful behind you have, beautiful u r ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥👍🌹
So happy y'all only had minimal recourse and no damage to the compound. Prayers for all in California who were heavily affected. 🙏❤. Looking forward to all the Burning Man videos for sure. With nothing but love and respect from Western Kentucky ❤
p.s. such different worlds we live in. Here we can get 4 to 6 inches of rain in a couple hours and no one really even notices. I lived in the desert in Buckeye Arizona and love to visit the desert but love to come back to my luscious green landscape of Western Kentucky
So glad Hillary was almost a non-event for you two ❤Great to see Eliza again❤I think you'd be lost without her! 🤗👍
Glad you guys are ok! Thanks for your update. So enjoy your videos. Beautiful people at beautiful places. Wish Lake Meade could catch some good water!
Best report of the hurricane EVER
Please get some more shots of your sister! Her smile looks great!
Here in Las Vegas the local news was acting like this tropical storm Hillary was going to be the Armageddon of rain, but all we got was some clouds and a few drops of rain.
Of course
I’m so glad you addressed this issue. I was wondering how you all made it thru the storm.
The neighbothoods up Mt. Chraleston for hammered.
Pahrump got 4" of rain sunday night. That's always how these storms go. Hit or miss.
We definitely got a lot more than just some clouds and a few drops of rain, but it wasn't anything bad either.
#1 job of the media, is to keep you in a constant state of fear. Makes the cabal happy!
Wonderful Frida who knew art is always true!
thanks for sharing your adventures glad your home didn't get damaged have fun at burning man stay safe
Yet another great video!
Enjoy Burning Man, tell Eliza we'd like to see her again in another video and maybe she can say "Hello to us" for just a quick minute? I can sense you two are very close, she has some of your mannerisms as well. Enjoy the festival, be safe and carry on!
😁
Enjoyed seeing your sister and glad that all is well. BTW: Loved your tailgate.
Wonderhussy is America's sweetheart 💕
Your closet & accessories are my dream come true.
I love your videos. The more of them I watch the more intriguing you become. Keep up the good work!
So ... don't you think since Burning Man is held on a playa lake bed ... it will probably be flooded?
Reports are that you're right and the playa was flooded. But what followed was never mentioned as the reporters had other squirrels to chase down.
Like your opening tune! Nice buns! Hope your burning man is the best one
You have the coolest friends! And sister too.
The cutest Paddington bear ever!😊
So glad WH and HussySis weathered the storm. I think your Karma steered you to BM successfully. It truly is a “Wonderhussy Life”. Consider what’s guiding you.❤
You’re Awesome!!! I just started watching your Videos…Had to see your footage and adventures at Burning Man 2023. Keep being you and keep enjoying your life’s adventures! John A, here from the West Coast of Canada 🇨🇦 🥰👍
Hey Sarah, Great video! Kudos! What a Great surprise to see an extra wonder Hussey on Thursday! Made my day!
How appropriate to name a natural disaster after the biggest natural disaster of them all. The comedy of it all. The viral memes give me life
Wow!!! Some of the commenters are real winners 🙄 Sarah you will be forever young, you are a sweetheart, Sis is a sweetheart aswell. Hope you have fun and all goes well at Burning Man. Old Kenny says. 🥰👍❤️🇺🇸
Good show. Enjoy burning man. Stay hydrated
Great video. Love the art. Love the shots of basin with clouds reflecting off the water.
Way to go Sarah 😎⭐️⭐️🤣
Glad you didn't forget to take a slide whistle to Burning Man, Sarah. BTW you look like the Morton Salt girl in that rain slicker and boots. Quite charming. And it's nice to see your sister overcome her shyness and to be included in some of your more recent videos. She's family and a huge part of your interesting and adventurous life too. Thanks for sharing, Sarah.
A Paddington Bear reference! Love it 😍
lm glad that you and everyone is safe all love
You are quite a funny character, take it easy girly , never stop being you , not many have made my soul smile.
Have a great Burn! We only got about 1/2 inch in Carson City, but the cool weather was divine. Bring on more tropical storms! 🎉
...oh my dearest wonderhussy,, your positive disposition is just like your slide whistle..."it never gets old" !!!
Thank you for sharing your experience
Glad you made it out for Burning Man with your slide whistle
Great episode! Thank you!😅
You lost a viewer
She’s weeding out the dumb ones👍

Your own private warm springs, sort of! I like your new sun glasses. Now your gussy hussy!
Thank you for sharing your cool life! Not literally...
Love it❤🎉😂 Hilary was crazy 🤪
Another very cool video. Loved it. Good to see your still afloat!
You should definitely do a video of you an your sister an let her talk about your life together. A sister video
Be safe and well! Continued prayers and love for you! Thank you for sharing ❤😊
You always make me smile. Keep it up girl! ❤
Hilary was full of Sound & Fury with lots newsy hype. It arrived with 24 hours of rain at various amounts 2-3 inches. It wound up as a Biden Storm. I twice survived Hilary - 2023 & 2016.
Welcome to Death Valley Days.
