Having trouble understanding backwards piping.
How can water from downstream flow backwards into the channel created by the upstream water? Why doesn't the water from upstream just continue to flow from upstream to downstream in its channel ?
Another question on backwards piping: if the soil particles are being removed from the upstream (to create the channel), how come the failure of the dam occurs on the downstream side?
