    In 2010 I bought a huge box of the water to keep at work for employees should disaster strike. They were kept in a locked room in the center of the building where we all worked so the temp remained consistent. They were tucked away and I forgot about them. 10 years later before covid hit I came across them and gave one a try, it tasted fine. I live in Western WA where good clean water comes out of my faucet, so that’s saying a lot. I was rather impressed.

    When you really need that, you won't care what it tastes like.

    Interesting! My wife and I have been watching the show “Alone”.
    I bet they wish they brought some of these!

      They have specific options to choose from on alone. Pemmican is one of them, Real pemmican with tallow. Way better nutrition profile than anything thats going to be called a ration bar! when low on food, that high protein, high fat, mixed with some berries for sugars is way better for survival. Very few people choose the ration option out of their 10 items though.

      Always good to get used to eating emergency/backup food. I found a couple of packs in my food cupboard ,(dropped off by my brother?), will ask his permission before I open a pack as he goes wild camping a lot and I don't want to eat his supplies. We live closer to the hills than him, we are his "base camp" :-)

    Any idea what the safe temperature range for storage is for both of these? I'm actually having trouble locating that info on their website and the web surprisingly. I was using blue can 50 year water stored in my car which is great for hot months but they are prone to explode below freezing if not stored in an insulated container.

    Half a cup of water in a bag? Yeah, I don’t think so. Fill up water bottles and take them with you. I live in northern NH and there is water water everywhere.

      These can be stored safer and for longer than a typical bottle of water

      These water pouches are specifically made for boats because they last for a very long time and you can’t get fresh water in a salt water sea

    About the emergency water.
    you don't need it at home if you have a freezer and bottles you can save Cash
    by filling and freezing bottles you have emergency water and extra time from spoiling food in the freezer

      Small packaging so you can fit it in confined storage spaces.

    Does water actually expire???

    • @GearKnowHow
      @GearKnowHow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah eventually the packaging will expire and cause leaks or start bleeding chemicals into the water.

      @@GearKnowHow Thank you! That is good to know! I have some that are almost expired. I was thinking of keeping them a little longer, but giving them to my pets if they were still ok, and we had an emergency.

      There are special storage options that will allow water to last waaay longer.

    • @Vinnytwotime
      @Vinnytwotime 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it doesn't. If it's not a clean and sealed container, it can grow bacteria. You can buy a 55 gallon drum and add a water stabilizer. It will last for many years.
