Evans, Armia, and Heineman were killing it tonight! One of the best 4th lines in all of hockey right now. Like I've said all along, I hope we don't trade Armia or Evans!! Dvvorak was excellent as well. Dvorak I still wouldn't mind losing, only because he'll be well out of his prime by the time we're actually competitive, but Armia and Evans??? We gotta hang on to these guys!!
Couple things: kudos to MSLfor starting Monty 9 games in a row. My #1 priority is a decent backup goalie; Primeau obviously isn’t it. Two games in with Carrier and I can say that is the steal of the season. No more Barron, and this guy can actually play. What a wonderful two nights. Go Habs! 😊
Everybody contributed. Love Armia and Evans on the PK. Josh Anderson is working hard. Carrier is fitting in well, Arber is more disciplined. Laine was a shot of adrenaline. The only guy who seems uncomfortable is Dach. I wish him success. Monty is awesome. Now we're getting somewhere
Hutson is racking up assists cuz he finally has a finisher, it was so depressing before, he would make amazing passes and no one would finish. Happy he got finally 2 points in a game thank to Laine.
@@oasisbeyondDunno about goalies not being very good in that era.. In Malone's day, George Hainsworth had 22 shutouts in 44 games for Les Habitants. 😉
goalies having way smaller equipment and just standing front of nets... not really hard back in the days. which reminds me, have you seen the goalies when greztky was putting 200 points? if goaltenders were same then what they are now wayne wouldn't got half the points
The powerplay is finally clicking. This is just a shadow of the monsterous powerplay Montreal had in the 1950's. The NHL had to change the rule because of how devasting Montreal's powerplay was back then. Before, the rule change, a player had to serve the full 2 minutes regardless of how many goals were scored on them Then came Montreal loaded with so many snipers who could score 3 goals on one powerplay. So the NHL changed the rule so a team could only have one goal score on a team against a powerplay.
Laine's one timer is fairly lethal and on the marker. Compared to others on the scoreboard, Laine only played 1/3 as many games. Let's see how well the road swing goes. First place is Laine's previous team on Monday. Hutson had his 7th multipoint game tonight.
Random thought, what if we sit Dach for a couple games and put in Pezzetta? With how things are going, I don't think it's gonna hurt. Pezzetta also brings some great positive energy. And perhaps this will rejuvenate Dach like it did Slaf last year when he was benched.
The Victoire beat Toronto for the first time in history, as well. OT win, 14 seconds Laura Stacey. This was a good day to be a Montreal hockey fan, not just a Canadiens fan.
Marty hurt SlaF there was no reason not to put him on the top line after his injury but the great Marty does not and this hurt the young players head space this coaching staff is a joke and coach a way to soft team concept that will never ever win tough hockey games when it counts end of January they will be bottom 3 in the league as after Christmas the schedule has them playing better teams
Dach nothing positive again, everyone else played good, is it time to becn h or send him to waivers to AHL? Dude has no heart and character, sorry, but prove us wrong, then I will say it.
His goal was on the PP, and he was on the ice at even strength when Detroit scored. Not his fault, but as long as they keep playing him with Dach and Newhook he's not gonna do much at 5-on-5 and he'll keep racking up the minuses. That's how bad those two really are. Put them out with the hottest shooter in the NHL and they *still* can't do anything.
To me Laine seems slow. Bad passes, bad positioning, lost possession cause of him quite a few times. Almost would like to see him just as a special unit guy until he gets his speed back 🤷. Am I the only one seeing this?
Defensively, he is often out of position and leaving seams open that we’ve been lucky that the other team hasn’t taken advantage of it. Offensively, he’s been hovering in his zone looking to force the opposition to space out further than they want to. On the powerplay, he’s been lethal. Teams are now being forced to choose between leaving a big crease in the deadliest spot on the ice (top of the net) or allow Laine to hover in his area for a one timer. With the way he’s scoring, we should start seeing some opportunities come up at the top of the net which will be perfect for Hutson or Suzuki to use with their creativity. Slaf off to the side is perfect. He’s looking for the hole for cross ice passes and it’s been great. Love what I’m seeing so far but yeah.. it isn’t all roses with Laine. He has zero goals at 5v5 or anywhere else on the ice. Everything is on the powerplay from the exact same spot. Teams will take that away soon so hopefully he finds other ways to score too. It should come..
Huh? The commentators were praising his 200-foot game. And he didn't look slow to me. Yeah, he had a couple of turnovers trying to create something on his own offensively, but he's stuck playing with Dach and Newhook at 5-on-5, so if he doesn't do it no one will. He even had a nice blocked shot tonight.
Why do losers always mention the Stanley Cup or parades whenever Montreal fans express happiness at the way Montreal performs/improves? It's f***ing old as hell. You're not witty, funny or original so give it up.🙄
I can’t believe we are finally witnessing a great powerplay in Montreal. With Laine scoring the boys have confidence and swagger
Congratulation boys, great match great team, whole team plays perfect, juraj Slafkovsky was selected as a first star of the game I think worthily :)
@cptVLK he just earned those millions

Absolutely agree… especially because these two are playoff type players who would rise up and be very useful
Armia should play like that every years not only the last year of its contracts
Love the energy and enthusiasm.

boys looking like a good team now, lets keep the winning streak rolling ghg

Carrier was a surprise trade, and he fits in.
Heineman is doing great too.
Take it easy on Dach as all the so called experts said at the start of the year it will take him until Jan or Feb to come back from a major injury…
Hutson is racking up assists cuz he finally has a finisher, it was so depressing before, he would make amazing passes and no one would finish. Happy he got finally 2 points in a game thank to Laine.
So true… without a finisher.. you are so ignored.. talent so wasted
Thank you guys for being always focused on the positive. Keep on the great work. Cheers 🍻
Joe Malones 22 goals in 9 games will be a tough record to break - guy was on an absolute tear
Were you there to see it lol. Different era my dude, Goalies were like normal players.
@@oasisbeyondDunno about goalies not being very good in that era.. In Malone's day, George Hainsworth had 22 shutouts in 44 games for Les Habitants. 😉

So happy for montreal
This is what happens when the team is finally healthy. Just imagine if Kirby gets his game back!
It's hard to believe things might actually go right for the habs. It's been so long it's exhausting.
Get excited!
Love u guys merry Christmas

Boys rolling gonna be a tough 3 games after the holidays but the way the boys are playing might be exciting games coming
Awesome Work Broos!!😀👍👍👍Christmas Greetings from Santa Land🎄🎁🎁 Helsinki, Finland🇫🇮🇨🇦🇫🇮🇨🇦
Santa land is in the North Pole, on the Canadian side. Nice try. But thank you, for Laine.
"Laine for life", well said.
From last to 5 points out of playoff spot r u kidding me
If we can take care of Columbus on Monday we're not in bad shape to begin the new year. Laine and Hutson are something else, historical stuff
Go Habs go

Subbed
Now take care of business w CBJ, and we are well set up for the schedule from heck after Noel.
Did someone say Turgeon?

Having fun with edits Josh ? 😉🤣
Nice edit yourself.
kirby dach is so mid. cant believe i argued with bozos who thought he was better than suzuki lol
Why so upset? Life is great.

If you say so. 🙄
I hate the "demigod" reference. It is heresy.
🙄
😂😂
We need a replacement for Dach
Let him cook
Yes we DO!! And soon!!!
We need better commenters.

How Laine has a -1 differential when he scored a goal and the other team only scored 1 0_O !?!?

OK guys, Patrick Laine is pretty but "vous êtes plus beaux " live when you talk than is superstar photo. Just to say😂. It's pretty anoying 😅
To me Laine seems slow. Bad passes, bad positioning, lost possession cause of him quite a few times. Almost would like to see him just as a special unit guy until he gets his speed back 🤷. Am I the only one seeing this?
Yeah he is playing crapolla since he has come back (early) from injury. Perhaps we can get Drouin or Gomez back !
Defensively, he is often out of position and leaving seams open that we’ve been lucky that the other team hasn’t taken advantage of it. Yeah give it some more time, dude hasn’t played in a year.

@@tonylloy327 I really wish I could clip out some of the moments that he seemed out paced and slow or not as energetic as his peers.
God you guys are lost they play bottom feeder teams and get the points and you guys think they will win the Stanley Cup lol
Take it easy, you'll hurt yourself.
