Hi Legorocks99. It's your upstairs neighbour Olga. Sorry about the noise. I've been a little down of late and lonely. Btw, its not a toothbrush.... Come on up and I will show you what is making all the noise
Gotta note, Laine fires the puck from the same area that Ovechkin normally uses and both are lethal. The game in Detroit, Laine's shot broke Seider's stick.
I know its hindsight and all that fun stuff, Habs aren't taking the playoffs, I understand that. But the reality that the Habs got Laine AND a 2026 Blue Jackets 2nd round pick for Jordan Harris (big fan of him) is pretty wild.
They have been doing that since day one of this rebuild with acquiring Dach, Monahan, Newhook, Matheson, Laine and Carrier lately. They still haven't drafted yet after 3 years of rebuild a genuine top#1 defenseman nor a genuine top line center...and this rebuild is near to its end since the fans/media are already running out of patience. Basically, Montreal fans/media just want an exciting team which will knock at the playoffs door regularly...but not willing to suffer long enough to get a genuine cup contender for which it would have also needed more losses to get more very good draft picks ???
@powers1500 think they have questionable draft strategy in very top picks, Kotkeniemi, Reinbacher, and to a lesser extent Slaf. Bad draft years don't help them one bit either. Habs don't seem to be very good at drafting their way to the top, as a Habs fan I've seen enough, happy to see them try to compete even if they finish mid tier as going rock bottom hasn't really panned out.
@broznar1019 You are totally right with what you just said. Lets not forget that most high end NHL players have Montreal on their no trade list. Montreal has not signed a high end free agent either for ages. The only way this team will ever become a genuine cup contender is getting enough high end players via the draft...but as you said, Montreal has historically been bad at the draft table. This year is crucial to draft a player top3...but it is not going to happen. At best, they will likely just fill in a need like drafting a Hensler, another Reinbacher type player, with their 7th to 10th pick !!!
Hutson is racking up points with Laine in lineup. He couldn't get points without him before, no one has finish, he does. 13 points in 13 games, first 2 point game since I bought his Jersey #48 Baby!
I'm a Devils fan but watching Laine become automatic near daily is so awesome to see
@fakedeath13 I’m a devils fan too

Hint : It's not a toothbrush !
Laine is also slowly finding his even strength game .
Yes, he's playing a 200 ft game. Getting stronger and stronger...
Laine has my permission to finish the season with40 goals and no 5 on 5 goals😃

It's getting hard to deny how good that guy is. Maybe it's just luck? I don't think so lol
Until the NHL mandates that PP goals are only worth 0.5 pts, I'm happy for Laine to keep firing them in.
Stop playing Dach with him 5 on 5, that line is so bad. Dach is always the worst player in the lineup, he needs to go to AHL.

Just keep the gaming console away.
what a mess yzerman has made i detroit, how are you this bad and this old 6 years into a rebuild
Hutson>Werenski
This is great. Adding some skill to that terrible team only pushes them to finish 17-20th place forever.
Yeah, bad teams never wanna get better, stay near the bottom for better draft picks. That's the real cup
