- Hello everyone welcome back to the channel and today we are enjoying a Very wholesome classic Croatian 24 Hour Ration. Breakfast was fantastic light and simple yet delicious, with the pate and crackers with the honey. The pineapple and papaya pastels were sweet and tart. The luncheon meat was bouncy and weird but went great with the crackers! Dinner was keeping it classic with beans crackers and chocolate! That was a delicious and hearty Ration. In Croatia you can buy all of these ration's components from any corner store. They're just off-the-shelf standard items available anywhere. 'Keks' means 'biscuits' in the packaged sense, so most keks is actually sweet and not savoury. Those different liver and other patés are also available off the shelf and are super affordable.

Good afternoon from the Great State of Texas. The sun is shining here today. I enjoyed your video. Is there any way a person can heat up the pate to make it a little easier to spread? Although, the ration looked good, it was a little light on the food for me. Still a good video, keep up the good work.

this is an extraordinary package when the kitchen is not available
there are 7? (not sure anymore) types of these meals, and they are issued randomly, so they are not the same every day
apart from the army, they are used by the police, firefighters and the Croatian mountain rescue service (in exceptional situations)
Years ago.(50) I liked the pork and beans ration because you could eat it cold.

You can heat them up in numerous ways, when were were on a shooting range for the entire day they would bring one field kitchen trailer there and put all the cans in one, what ot is called like cauldron of the field kitchen, where you cook stews or soups, fill it with water and boil/heat the water and then make disprese it to troops when heated in hot water.
All this food is just normal commercial food of good quality just chosen what will get you the most calories.
For the beans, the hamburger one is the best, hamburger being a type of bacon, gets the best flavour to the beans, gulash is also not bad..
You could put the beans and sausage into your canteen cup and stick it in a fire, then just eat it out of the cup, or just pop the can and stick the can in the fire.
They probably get some kind of esbit stove in their kit.
Maybe they are buying so much hardware because of Putin.

* beans and sausage are meant to be heated or canned with a zippo lighter (on the field)
or in the microwave
* there are no cutlery, because each soldier receives a silver set / knife, fork, spoon, with a can opener / it comes complete with a water flask
* everything you see in the box can be bought in the regular offer in any store, just take this list from the box (it will not be packed like this in silver bags, but in commercial packaging)
* Russian brothers, distant northern cousins, they understand us, but we don't understand them
For centuries, Croatia was under the influence of Rome and Vienna, and Instabul, with whom we fought centuries of wars

* with that package, the Croatian soldier also gets 1/2 kg of black bread, crackers are for "snacking" later
* crackers have another function, when you need a fire, you light a cracker
You just put a can (beans) close to the fire for couple minutes and its good to go, but if your out in the field and hungry you ll eat it cold too :)

A little explanation. The can of beans with sausage, like most of the contents, was produced for the civilian market, therefore it is stated that it can be heated in the microwave, this is not a recommendation for soldiers.
every Croatian soldier in the field has a Zippo (petrol or diesel) lighter as part of "unofficial but mandatory" equipment
and when you need to heat the can it is not a problem
