    Wow, this is beautiful and proof how colors define our world. White plants and almost black skies look so surreal

      The music was created for the movie after it was completed. An original composition by a talented composed named Sam Folkes +Dave Gordon

    Love your work Andrew. Very inspiring. I am about to convert one of my cameras to IR. Not sure if I should start with an older camera such as a 20D rather than my 5DMk2. Any suggestions?

    Nice video!! I want to make this. I bought a 720nm IR filter but I don't know to do this. What settings on my camera? What program in post production? Can you show me a tutorial in TH-cam? I don't find it. Please help me!

      If you purchased an IR filter to mount to your camera lens you will have to mod your camera to a full spectrum conversion. The IR cut filter in front of the image sensor will have to be removed. This mod will have to be done through a Specialty Company or by yourself if you have the right skill set. I have modded numerous Pentax Cameras and I'm very pleased with the results. The best thing about a full spectrum mod is you can choose different filters for different effects. The downside is you will have to use the LCD screen for viewing as the viewfinder will become very dark because of the filter on the lens. because of the

    Beautiful work. Do you use added ND filters?

    • @andrewshurtleff
      @andrewshurtleff  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. No ND filter needed. The IR filter is permanently mounted over the sensor allowing for normal camera functioning

      Thanks for the response. l'm going to have a Sony Alpha a6000 converted for shooting video. But in visible light I need to use ND filters. I'm assuming that the IR filter eliminates a lot of light.

    • @andrewshurtleff

    • @andrewshurtleff
      @andrewshurtleff  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Artem Arestov it's about a second. The longer the shadows grow the more time between frames. Also, it's about 380 frames or about 12 seconds for each scene.

    Hello, I'm a french composer. I allowed myself to use some of your magnificent images in a short clip for an original composition. It has no commercial purpose (my previous videos have never more than a few hundred views). I mentioned your name to thank you in the credits. If you disagree with my use of your images, I'll withdraw the clip. I hope you'll like it. Greetings from the south of France.

      Hi Julien. I'm fine with it under 2 conditions:
      1) write out my full name like this: Infrared Footage by Andrew Shurtleff
      2) Place a youtube link to the original Infrared film
      Once that's done I'll share the video.
