More people need to see this performance. This is musicianship at it's greatest, and these songs and live arrangements are incredibly well rehearsed and well written. Truly inspirational.
I'm not sure it's the lack of enthusiasm, Son Lux is a very very unique performance the few times you get. Its not really a band you dance to, it's a band you experience. Some will dance, some will stand and absorb the spectrum they feel. I dont think Son Lux works as a one type fits all scenario.
@@k-leb4671 Nah man, still to this day the French have led the forefront of underground culture electronic music. They know "unusual" they pretty much invented it. Even prior to kraftwerk the French were doing weird electronic music. Those guys know how to party like animals. Son Lux doesn't require overt movement to appreciate them. Just to stand and take it all in, is a pleasure most won't have as they don't tour much. Its OK to just stand gormlessly and suck all those emotions in, as a band they deliver a truck ton of emotion and crazy musicality. Plus 99% of the camera shots aren't involving the crowd. And there's a lot of crowd that payed to be there.
I hate when live performances are more interesting than the studio recordings, because then I feel disappointed listening to the albums. Also, Ryan Lott sounds like a male Beth Gibbons (singer of Portishead) throughout parts of this set.
you're right, too bad but without setlist, without soundcheck and without post production it is quite hard to achieve a result that can reach their talent.
