How to catch Sailfish on the Reef in the Florida Keys! - Fishing on Contender boat's 30 ST.

- Join us as we venture offshore in our 30 foot contender 30 ST center console. This week we are targeting sailfish out on the Florida Keys reefs. Though sailfish can be found far off shore, they’re also commonly found very shallow. In this episode we were targeting the fish while drifting live ballyhoo in about 100 feet. Enjoy!

Beautiful video I caught my first sail today at the keys we lost him but the beauty of catching one seeing him jump was incredible we didn’t go out to catch sails we was trolling and going for mahis haha

There is a slow release patch one can get for seasickness. A guy on another channel uses it and he says it works 100%. He has a kayaking channel

Another good video because..... No Claw seen!!! For Steph - I am sure you have already tried everything and everyone is an expert with advice but.... Try chewing Ginger Gum if you have not. It works for my nephew who loves to fish but gets a little motion sickness on the boat when we stop trolling. Dose not cure it but settles his nausea just enough.
Haha I'm going to break a Claw out one these days when you're least expecting it... We are always open to advice no matter what it is, by no means are we experts at anything. We will definitely have to try that, thanks for your additional support.

I’ve been searching for key’s fishing videos and came across the channel. Now, I’m hooked! Live in TX but frequent Summerland for fishing. Would appreciate any info on helping catching these sails also!
Nice, hopefully we will see you down here in the near future. As far as the sailfish, you can catch them year round on the reef anywhere from 50-150 feet. But they're more common to catch in the winter and spring months. Its really not too tricky, the key is just to drift nice healthy lively baits on the drop off. Some days you'll catch none and some days it's on fire. You just have to hit it right.

So Marlin aren’t really prevalent in the Florida keys. Are you talking about Sailfish by any chance?
