By the Way - the person organizing the deals for all the great Amiga Format demos and full price software was Michelle Harris. Northern lass who was very talented at asking the right questions. She later worked for EA and Sony Computer Entertainment launching the Play Station. I just put together what she booked in. :)
Thanks for watching, the 3D game looked amazing. I want to return to it to work it out fully, as I think there might be something really interesting in there.
18:53 Subtle difference but I notice this must be an earlier build of lemmings as the countdown ends with '?' rather than them just exploding. The other day me and my brother were talking about James Pond for some reason and he misremembered the tag line to James Pond ('Underwater Agent') as being the much better Bond pun of 'Goldfishfinger'
There are a few subtle differences in the lemmings demo, including the popping sound. it also felt a little less "snappy" as in it didn't seem to respond to mouse inputs as quickly, but that might be me misremembering things.
That was one of the first Amiga Formats I remember having, I would have been 7 at the time. We got a lot of mileage out of the Lemmings demo over the years (mostly just nuking the Lemmings) and the music from the Total Recal demo sticks with me to this day.
Both interphase and chase are defo games im gonna track down never heard of them before and both definitely my type of games i liked to play …..brill episode as always
Hi Gouldfish I notice you've been putting out videos weekly this new year & just wanted to acknowledge that & pay respects, it's a level of commitment i couldn't imagine erm committing to ha
@@mattyboy2024 Thanks! I've been trying to get back to doing 3 videos a month for quite a while now and with the xmas break I think I can keep that cadence up. If mostly because it gives me the chance to do more weird videos like the Itch.IO one.
No one tell the stock market that all those AI language models they invested trillions of dollars in once came free on the coverdisk of a magazine 35 years ago.
Eliza was a classic Basic program. Just a port. NIALL was a stab at syntax analysis to create new arrangements of words. 1 in 20 responses made any kind of sense, the rest were gibberish! :)
To check out Rob Smith's video on those dual format disks check out : th-cam.com/video/HhTfBSIANfI/w-d-xo.html

That 300-page Amiga Format Christmas issue was my of my favorites back in the day
It still warms my heart to have helped give such fun. Those Coverdisk reader submissions drove me partially nuts. :)
I could never get those dual/triple format disks to be recognised in my Amiga back in the day
Thank you so much for this GouldFish. That issue of Amiga Format was the first I ever owned… oh my, the memories 😊
I would have been keen for total recall back then! and that 3d game after looks impressive. Love your work sir, thank you.

Was pretty good music recreation of the movie too. For 1991 anyway.

even back then when i was used to filght sim, huey was a pain in the ass to just lift off
The reviews and user comments were unkind to the game so was hoping it wasn't just me!
Yeah FA/18 Intercepter was great though.
Both interphase and chase are defo games im gonna track down never heard of them before and both definitely my type of games i liked to play …..brill episode as always
Awwww yea first cover disk faceoff of the year!
Can't keep a good series down!
Let's cover all the disks!
Donald duck rather than Daffy surely?
yeah, now that you mention it you are absolutely right.
Not sure what my brain was thinking.
I got my Amiga 500 in January 1991
A good year to start, lots of great games came out in 1991!

@@PATTHECATMCD So just like AI now then.
Not Daffy Duck, Donald Duck. Daffy was actually The Count lol
Daffy Duck ?
I managed to get that AA Raw Image (on Turran FTP) to work as an A600 = Level 4 collect Gold Bars and avoid Bluebeard's Ghost.
You can play Lemmings in a browser now. But the sound isn't quite as good as the Amiga original.
Everything should have a quicker start guide.
I had competely forgotten about Zero magazine! Thanks for reminding me.
Do you remember Games-X?
RIP The One ("Current Bun" - Ed.) and Amiga Action ("Michael Jackson - Ed.) and now, heartbreakingly, it's RIP Jonathan Nash ("Volcanic Ash" - Ed.) 😞
Turns out I mixed up Daffy Duck and Donald Duck, mock me in this comment!
*shame* *shame*
I borrowed a cracked version of Super Huey for the ST from my friend and had a similar experience...
