    She is taking this kitchen microwave fire way to seriously. All children, from every time and every culture on this earth have made similar mistakes. In fact way more serious mistakes have been made by everyone as they were growing up. What's wrong with her though?
    I think that her being the only adult home at the time and making an effort to become involved with her new stepson, that when he told her that he did not know how to make a simple Ramon noodle meal that she was very negligent when she only explained how to do it and then went to lie down in the living room on the couch without providing any parental guidance and supervision and yet the Ramon noodle lunch was her idea. As a parent you make sure a young and inexperienced child prepares the simple meal in a safe way. Especially when you are new in the children's life and you do not know anything about how much they know about cooking. She did not do that. Instead she went to take a nap in the living room.
    The blame for this incident is mostly on her. She failed as a parent. Then she blew it up and placed 100% of the blame on the child. When in fact it is she herself that failed to provide a safe environment for children. Finally after all this, she walks out on the family. She is not an adult, she is a failure as a parent and wife.

    • @girl1213
      @girl1213 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not about what the son's intensions were anyway. In fact, it was never about him at all: his father has a bad attitude to the situation that someone could have been hurt or killed regardless if the fire was an accident or not because that's the truth about fire: It doesn't care why it was made, all it wants to do is feed itself to keep it going for as long as possible
      That's why his father needed to take the fact that he could have come home to no house and/or a dead wife and kid seriously.

      Kevin is 14 he should know how to cook and use the microwave. Also OP told him how to make it. And even if she didn't, there's always instructions on how to make pasta on the box.

    I think she’s more upset about the father’s decision to ignore or see things as not a big deal. The tension between the son and stepmother could have been easily addressed if he’d stepped in and talked to his son instead of ignoring it. Plus the microwave fire was an example of the kid feeling lost or confused since he wasn’t use to doing something. As for the woman the only reason she was upset about the fire was because the husband refused to understand they need to educate the kids on home safety so they could avoid another kitchen fire, not ignore it.

    She's overreacting. Just because he wanted to see the better side of the situation. And instead of taking a step back, relaxing them talking it over again she just jumped straight to divorce. What about counseling? Is all just a matter of perspective. They could've worked through it. People give up too easily nowadays.

    I'm up in the air on this one. I see both points of view but only hear one. At first I thought the BIO mom was dead then here she shows up. BIO Dad needs to step up, and OP wanted an excuse to get rid of the kid. As for BIO Dad's job, who knows how that really fits in.

  • @RJ-sb5qr

    OP totally overreacted. Yes, the fire could have been worse. But truly, it was an accident. Kevin is a 14-year-old kid who said he didn't know how to make the noodles in the microwave. OP should have stayed in the kitchen and showed him exactly how to make the noodles properly. And how come Jenny is only seen twice in the hole video? She wasn't included in anything. OP is not a good partner. She runs at the first sign of trouble. Yes, the parents should have taught their children simple things, like cooking noodles in the microwave. OP stated in the beginning she was ready for the task of parenting. But realistically she isn't ready for that kind of responsibility.

  • @amyyaku5022
    @amyyaku5022 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    You can never "overreact" to situations like this. OP was right to divorce John. This would've been an honest mistake if Kevin was much younger, but this boy is 14 and should be capable of cooking and using the microwave without setting it on fire. Why didn't John teach him how to cook already? Did he just expect OP to do it or to keep cooking for him until he found a wife?
    Also for the people in the comment section claiming she's overreacting or the one in the wrong, why? Kevin's old enough to make his own food without supervision and this wasn't just an honest mistake: it was carelessness on Kevin and mostly John's part. This could've cost them their home and even their lives.
