My husband was disowned by his parents for wanting to go to college. His father told him that he was going to get above his raisings. He went to MIT and became a civil engineer.

It seems like they were recycling an older story and didn't bother editing it properly.

“Yes mom. I can forgive you.”
    “Wonderful! Now maybe we can-“
“Let me finish! I can forgive, but I can’t forget. I can’t have you two back in my life. How do I know you won’t hurt me again?”
    “But-but we’ve changed!”
“I understand that. But I was only able to do all of this after I left you two. And then you tried to take credit for it. I can’t trust someone who does things like that.”
Dad: “We WON’T do anything, we promise!”
“I wish I could believe you, dad. But it’s too much of a risk and I can’t take that risk. So goodbye forever now. And don’t try to contact me again.”

I would forgive them but still cut ties. I will not help them in any way, not invite them to gatherings, celebrations, etc.

Throw them a bone , remember that college fund you took away !
Well you'll never get a dime out of this choice you made me make.
Plus don't brag about your son .
Because he died the minute that house door closed .
My uncle is my daddy and I am save him .
With my work ,unlike you heartless people.
Now remember you choose to throw away your only son .
Enjoy watching from the back seats in the dark!

Giving parents who treated you like that a second chance is fine but they can't just expect you to forget everything that happened. The relationship needs to be rebuilt. They need to prove they meant what they said about being wanting forgiveness and that takes time.

Some betrayal shouldn't be forgiven. A person capable of doing that to you once is capable of doing it again and again. Why give them the chance? If you must forgive them for your own peace of mind, that's fine, but at least don't allow them back in your life.

At 16 you can’t disown your kids. Illegal. Since the actors have American accents & American names I must assume this takes place in America. The laws should’ve been American too. And is the lead character a male or female? He/she apparently is both!

I think it's AI. This videos are from overseas I think. Some of the plots seem like cultures not American.

He comes across as thinking he's better than his family. Medical research is a good area, but so is repairing vehicles. His research will not fix his car when it breaks down, and he cannot get to his laboratory. He should have shown some respect for the family business. Maybe then he would not have been shunned.

If my parents disowned me for going to college instead of doing what they demanded, but tried to act all "Happy and proud", I would've stepped back and just stared at them stoically and say "Sorry, but....Who are you? My parents disowned me when I was 16, because I chose to go to college instead of doing what they demand of me.".
Parents that disown their own kids for the most entitled and selfish reasons, but decide that said disowned kid is "Worth it" because of the title, money and being on the media are NO parents. They're just complete strangers with hearts of ice.

College education is most important even getting government degrees as if I would. Alexander might get himself a government degree proving he must work for the US Government.

Why do you story tellers, keep making the man out to be a woman? Quit it! Either the story is about a man, or a woman. Stop calling him her or she. Stop integrating them.
