i’m always blown away by the complexity and amount of depth in foxings music. they involve so many instruments and make them all work so amazingly. it has so many layers but they’re so neat and clean and nothing disrupts anything and idk man it’s just beautiful to see it live
I dont know anything about her so this may be naive, but she's got hella middle-school band teacher vibes. And I have a little hopeful fantasy that she goes to teach class and tell her students how to she got to shred solos for a rock band on Tiny Desk. Respect her, kids.
@@unsavvytravelers2346 "As an educator, she is on faculty at Borough of Manhattan Community College (a CUNY school), Nyack College, and is an instructor for the Wells-Fargo Jazz for Teens program at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey." My only issue is you've got your band on this platform with a huge audience and you decide to give this solo time to someone not in the band while your actual guitarist is just playing bass, why not highlight the actual band members talents with the opportunity you have
Saw them open for Coheed & Cambria earlier this year, and if Coheed brought the house down, Foxing definitely crippled the structure. Absolutely fantastic live.
I would love to see Coheed try to stay contained behind a tiny desk. They complimented each other SO WELL on the road. I saw them in Arkansas and Foxing absolutely blew the audience away.
The way they film Ricky is weird too. It's like he's some random guy who filmed himself strumming a guitar, then edited the footage into a pre-exisiting video.
I want it all I'll watch the bridges all burn And I'll be your dog I'd be a darling for you Or anyone who wants me at all Does anybody want me at all? The opening shot is a young Ned Flanders with an Emmy and a Boku no Hero Academia shirt. I'm way too sober to experience this properly. Rad music as always, Tiny Desk
whenever I come back to watch this session, the ORNAMENTS of the Sax Girl dont fail to impress me, the perfect match of the metal with the sax...so f**cking CLASSY pure elegance 😗👌
What strange camera work/editing? Instruments are mostly kept out of view, drummer is out of view, no shot of all musicians in one shot. I kept thinking "Zoom out!". I cant even see the desk itself!
I click the video and the first thing I see is a dude with a My Hero Academia shirt on, a bed head and a mustache that makes him look like he's been casted for Reno 911, hugging an Emmy statuette... What a *fucking legend*

I keep on coming back for this one, but mostly for Nearer My God because they gave it that orchestral like feel still despite doing it in NPR desk. Damn.
This is the archetypal NPR band. If I had to explain Bob Boilen's taste in music, and what a Tiny Desk band usually looks like, I'd just show someone this video
props to whoever thought to bring instruments to this IT department team building event, it really came together nicely
Ohhhkayyyy!!! 😃
lol...that's awesome...
Brandon McCormack I don’t get it explain please
@@BURNANNATOR They look like a bunch of people who work in IT.

This is my favorite Bob’s Burgers episode.
thats high praise man. I totally agree tho

Man that saxophonist FINDS IT at the end of the set. What a great addition for these songs

NO WAY FOXING ON TINY DESK
The chemistry between these people is insane! Also the new album is so different and sooo good! Really musicians by heart.
Love how the lead singer raises his voice when singing I'M ON THE FLOOR WITH THE HALO HEADACHE FROM BAD COKE
Spencer Gipple so good
My goodness this guy has an amazing live voice. Love it!
super alto sax solo end of Grand Paradise, real stylish thanks
Damn, he's rocking that Hero Academia shirt on tinydesk. Huge thumbs-up!!!
Makes me wish Foxing would put out an all acoustic album.
Just peeped that too
I actually made a lot of anime references on the concert they did for Tasha Cobbs. I am glad to know I am but one of many!
yesss feed the hungry emo children
we're starving
That was breakfast, what's for lunch?
@@bigb333 go back to julien baker's tiny desk if you're still hungry
I’m starving, American Football and Pinegrove also did one for your emo fix
This was my first time listening to this band and in the last two days I listened to all their albums. Crazy good. The whole package.
I love this session so much. Sitting on my balcony at 3.27am and enjoy every second. This is so pure.
I wish Jon wasn't so hidden in the back, easily one of my favorite drummers ever

everyone including myself loved foxing for their first album but I really think they found their style with their newer stuff
There’s only 4 of them now.
I didn't think Nearer My God could get better. And it did
I keep coming back to this TDC more than any other. Best three songs from the album and the performance is brilliant. Emo kids unite.
when the acoustic guitar and drums kick in during slapstick..... *chef's kiss*
love watching these guys grow with their sound
I’m so proud of them. This was absolutely beautiful. Thanks NPR now give us more emo
Perfect! I wish they played some older songs from The Albatross. Damn, what an organic sound. Great stuff.
new album is better than anything on albatross imo
@@pumathurman will check :) thanks!
Yes, I didn't like their second much, but Nearer My God is outstanding, definitely check it out!
@Dave Martin yeah Dealer is god tier

Lol, don't think so.
Incredible performance, odd camera zoom/angles though. Legend has it we still don’t know if there was actually a drummer there
7:28
He was warping in and out of existence
Little do people realize, the drummer is nude.
The way they film Ricky is weird too. It's like he's some random guy who filmed himself strumming a guitar, then edited the footage into a pre-exisiting video.
Drummer is on the left of the sax player.
Foxing never fails to make me cry. Absolutely stunning you guys! I’m so happy for you!

+1 for more emo tiny desks
Not in the emo arena anymore, but know where you're coming from. And yes - emo tiny desk!!
@@TTHPdotorg i would consider foxing to still be emo

I was so distracted by his beautiful voice and the feelings he inspires that I didn't even notice his shirt. ♡♡

Ararararagi-san gets it
Damn, the saxophone is a great addition for them.
Conner's vocals have improved immensely since their first album, love this band.

the camera man hates the drummer! hihihihi he`s also in the band

Foxing are FOXING brilliant. I’m absolutely astonished this band do not get the recognition they deserve ❤
I love their sound. It reminds me a little bit of Arcade Fire. Thank you NPR!
That saxophone solo around the 11 minute mark was IT!
What a lovely surprise to wake up to. Thanks Tiny Desk and bravo Foxing!
Obsessed with this Tiny Desk.

Servaris The Medic is my favorite too.
They've been trying to get past that album for a while though so I understand why they didn't.
You can see it live on AudioTree
That sax solo was so tight. Bring her on tour
best NPR concert to date, dont @ me.
Maisie Williams singing backup !
The drumming at the end of Nearer My God is otherworldly.
God they’ve changed so much since I saw them. I love that Conor is rocking the MHA shirt. Interesting to see these songs performed this way.
Greatest band on Earth
Awesome to see Foxing get a Tiny Desk, they’ve been putting in the work with lots of live shows for awhile and deserve the recognition!
This is the reason I subscribed to npr. To discover great music.

It's back! I was looking everywhere for this thank you
Haven't been blown away by a TDC in a while.. must be one of Foxing's best live recordings on the web. Holy shit.
As a Foxing fan and a Dave Matthews Band fan, the additions of the strings and sax is too powerful for me to handle
A room full of cuties I ain’t got no complaints y’all
Foxing bring out emotions in me like no other.
I can be romantic
When I'm starving for sleep
When I try but I can't seem
To remember anything
With hair from a dog
I've got a fistful of its mane
It's too coarse to stomach
So I shove it down my throat
Luck left late Saturday and now
Jesus Christ I'm wrecked to bed
They watch me sleeping in the kennel again
I can't recall the bark but the bay, I admit
If I was listening I could hear it
I'm shock-collared at the gates of heaven
25 years that I've been trying to shake loose
And if I try to sit still
Then someone's breathing down my neck
So I'm embarrassing myself again
I should see myself out
Lay me down in the tub
Throw away my phone
Strap a muzzle to my mouth now
And Jesus Christ I'm wrecked to bed
They watch me sleeping in the kennel again
I can't recall the bark but the bay, I admit
If I was listening I could hear it
If I was listening I could hear it
If I listen I can hear
Palms kept white hot gold rings folded like a
Knot tied tight sweat leave sleep take me now
I've done nothing right
I've gone wrong beside
I can't see what's there
But If I listen I can hear
Luck bent low roar drum pressed to the glass
The glass pressed loose soft spots marked on the wall
Wall an empty stomach
I've done nothing right
I can't see what's there
If I listen I can hear it
Palms kept white hot gold rings folding like a
Knot tied tight sweat leave sleep take me now
I've done nothing right
I've gone wrong beside
I can't see what's there
I can't see anything at all
This, this right here warmed my heart
Adding that sax at the end was tremendous
