Over the boarder in Spain there a many forges that could replicate a few more stairs very cheaply, I had a cast iron staircase made for me to my design here in Spain
My 9yo grandson told me today that he was going to buy me a chandelier. Such a sweetie! It made me thing of you two and your antiquing. If he ever gets to realistically doing it, I'll have him ask Billy for tips.
Antique shopping with Billy & Ryan via video is the safest way for me to antique shop. ❤ Antique shopping is my favorite kind of shopping. The green pair of chairs were priced nicely. So many beautiful things! Thank you for taking us along.
Another spectacular vicarious shop till you drop session with Life of Ryan❤️ I'm a little coooky I'm afraid of second hand mirrors... 🙈.. But love the trunks and unusual chairs.. 🤩
Greetings from the US Enjoyed the antique shopping video Ryan. Mention to Billly that you could build a landing with steps to the height you need to make the spiral staircase work. You all take care and God bless.
I love these trips to antique shops. Those items would be in museums here in Canada. That lamp (12:00) which you loved would be termed “Steam Punk” I think. A mixture of gears, cast iron, and electricity.
That mannequin is a friend of Alexander's. You could tell by not a hair out of place although his wardrobe needs Alexander's touch. Gorgeous staircase. It is a shame you couldn't put the staircase on a pedestal. You need the cog lamp for your desk in the convent,it would go great with the brick wallpaper.
Ryan, in Billy's last video he showed the spiral staircase that is in the neighbours yard/property, if it is obsolete and not used maybe Billy can see if he can take it off them, he could negotiate a good price if they don't need it.
I used to love antiquing in my younger days! The French antique shops are wonderful and have so many beautiful and unique items! Just looking at everything while you pan around the rooms is amazing! Loved today!!
I always love seeing entire bits of buildings in an antique shop. About 25 years ago, my mom and I were looking through a store in rural Illinois when I saw a church pulpit, complete with the staircase leading up to it. I forget what type of wood was used, but the detail in the carving and construction was terrific. The same store also had two gorgeous armchairs in dark walnut and dark green upholstery suitable for a Victorian library or men’s smoking lounge on the Titanic. I loved those chairs-too bad I was flat broke at the time. Also, moving them to my later apartments would have been a pain.
Oh dear, Ryan …… I wouldn’t be able to go to that antique shop, I think I saw at least a dozen items I loved. You seem to have a penchant for trunks and chairs, I’m rather partial to them myself 🤣 Great video, thanks. 😊
Another great video Ryan! Your commentaries are always interesting with a dash of humour. I love it when you and Billy go off antiquing! I like the idea of building a platform of sorts with stairs, then add the staircase?
My great aunt had a lifelong friend who lived with her from mi-life to the end. They both were married earlier in life. Friends from 7 years of age...Friends are precious treasures, as long as you both have your own space. You both have many spaces. Life is short...Enjoy.
Hi Ryan! Love the antiques! Please tell Billy if the spiral staircase is to short, maybe he can built a small platform with a few steps and attach it to the base of the staircase, just a thought! Hate for you to miss out on that great staircase just because it's too short! All the best with it! 😁
That antique shop had so many interesting items. You need to get those green chairs for your office. Or the red ones. Too bad about the staircase. You may have to build one? Enjoy your Monday. 😘
LOVE that shop! LOVE the staircase! Like Louise Albrecht said already - Billy could build a platform with a few stairs and put the spiral stairs on top to get the height.
Remember the spiral staircase has to be big enough for all the people of the gallery to exit the building in case of fire. I am sure your local fire dept. will let you know that there are regulations that have to be kept for the fire code. Best of luck finding one that big!
I loved so many antique things in that shop, you also pan slowly enough for us to get a good look at everything. Shame about the bell and the spiral staircase, but it wasn't ment to be this time around. I enjoyed that very much 💕🇦🇺
@@JaxonsDd007 Yes! It’s so cheerful and groovy. I do love all the beautiful antiques that are in keeping with the style of the château and convent, but I’m also hoping to see gems like that orange lamp.
Awe…the spiral staircase would have looked fantastic if it would have fit but, I’m certain you will find a other very soon! So many beautiful things to see!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hey Ryan, I just want you to know that I love it so much when you and Billy go antique shopping. I remember one time in a Q&A when somebody requested that you stop doing the antique shopping videos but just know there are people out there who love to watch. Well back to the video I’m going to love you and leave you now.
Good vid as usual Ryan, shame about the staircase and the bell but the hunt goes on, great for us, I love antiquing, especially with you and Billy and it was great to see Sean who I love and follow, see you tomorrow for more adventures much love xxxxxxxxxxxxx😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Shame the staircase didn’t fit as it was lovely, So many beautiful antiques in the brocantes. Hope Billy’s ok, seemed a bit more subdued than usual xxx💕💕
Thank you for your videos and thank you for letting people share some ideas here , it has helped me reach over $300,000 in trading by age 24! Thanks. Keep the videos coming. 👍🏽
I am here in Tx as well..Heading to France soon again..You really should get over there it is pretty amazing.I always thought I would end up in Ireland I explored it for living in 8 different times but now I hope it is France instead..The weather is just slightly better.😉
Great to see you back Ryan on a regular basis. Billy is such an amazing caretaker and revitalizer of these Amazing Properties! The Chateau has been a breathtaking transformation and his antique choices are stunning! I can't believe the Convent Chapel and the lighting he's installed! Wow👏
I'm always amazed at what you find in a French store for used things and what you find here in America. No comparison. Even a basic thing there in France is a piece of history, an object of art. Here there's plastic and old is maybe 100 years. I can't imagine even in France, that finding a spiral staircase is that easy, but there it is, right where Billy needs to find one. Amazing! I wonder if you could build a platform on the floor in the room you need it it, which has a couple of steps and then have the stair case on top of that. I love seeing all the old suitcases. I've seen people use them for their storage. You either stack them up from large to small or I've seen shelving made to hold the suitcases like drawers in a dresser, you just pull them out and open them.
Love antique shop tours! Loved that staircase as well, pity it didn't fit. I'd try to find a wooden one, though, might suit the place better. Stay safe and thanks for the lovely content! XO
Hi Ryan! Would you please show the glassware more the French are known for that! I love the vases you very quickly showed and that wooden ouija board in the background by the chairs looked quite interesting, love ya
I would make an oak platform for the staircase to sit on. The staircase is lovely and would look great in the chapel. Really nice brocante. I saw a lot of antiques I would buy. Xx
There are some incredibly good antique markets you visit... I have to go to France and antique hunting once we have finished renovating our farm... in about 10 years 🤣
So Ryan, Billy, I don’t get my door from the antique store. Instead you want a stair case. 😿 I forgive you, but only because you worked so hard and giving us videos. Thank you for the video Ryan
Maybe he could find 2 shorter staircases and weld the TOGETHER. It is not unheard of that people would do what they had to do to accommodate what they needed a d put it together. It is hard to find to find what is exactly needed. Nice to see you so often now. Have a good day
I estimated it as a 5 meter space. I think it could be possible to build a nice wooden stairway base and set the spiral on top, but, oh, well. Definitely need a bigger bell too. Drats. Just have to keep looking! But the iron spiral staircase is a beauty. 💗
I really like that Steam Punk( the brass footed lamp with the gears mounted on it )styled artisan lamp too. You might want to see if the artist has any more Steam Punk pieces. In the USA; that style commands a pretty high price. I am actually glad that I don't live in France; I'd always be spending way too much money in those stores! Lol
I was really hoping the staircase would fit. If finding one tall enough, I do wonder if building up a base of beautiful wooden steps would be viable? You’ve been lucky so far so I’d wait a bit to see if the correct size falls into your lap.
I think they should measure the one next door & find out about buying that one. I kinda wonder if it came from the Convent.(wouldn't surprise me if it did)
You must have been there just after or shortly before we patronized that same brocant as we purchased the grandfather clock which was just left of the staircase, and the table that had the boars head sitting on it as well as some items in the adjoining store. It was our third visit and operated by a great group of individuals. The English couple there on Sunday were extremely helpful. If possible, could you please give us names of other brocants in the area as we are new to the Mayenne and just purchased a chateau in the area. Thank you, we enjoy your videos.
That spiral staircase could have a large thick cement rounded base to help anchor it. That could add another 8 inches easy. I think it's safe where it is for now. Get your measurements and wait for your cash infusion.
You could Build a 3 step wooden base…cement centred then place the spiral case under It. Maybe find some cool antique spindles to go around the base … could be quite unique
Oh mercy that spiral staircase is Awesome! Can you take it apart & move the size of the stair steps? Did they have it made there if so see if you can adjust it? FYI check they make all sorts of iron in Zaragoza, Spain! It’s well made cause it almost as old as I am! They have them libraries over there right?
Oh my gosh I saw a lot of things in the Brocante that I would love to have.. Too bad I don't have a Chateau and the money to go with.. I loved the red chairs , they look almost like what you would sit on the throne in .. and I loved the all the green chairs . plus more.. I seen some fabulous bed frames ,and chandeliers . If I had a Chateau I would definitely would try to buy 15th to 17th century furnishings to go in it even if they were faux .. I think I was born in the wrong century .
Hi Ryan and Billy, I would say one of those really nice mirrors would be nice for the back wall of the chapel. Are you going to rebuild the altar space? If I had that chapel I would rebuild the altar space with antique furniture and a nice altar table. That winged phoenix book holder was amazing, but too pricey I agree. Some nice chairs to either side for the celebrant and the reader, so forth and so on. (I used to be a seminarian - So I can see things like that). Happy Monday from Montreal.
I know they should have a school right??? Teach a few days then go out in the field with the students..😊 I have a ton of idea and all of them are free🥰
Laurel and Hardy masks, I love them ❤️. The stair case is beautiful and I loved many of the chairs and lamps
Thanks Ryan and Billy,I also loved all the chairs, you picked out,i would have a great time reupholstering them.x
Hello Ryan & Billy great shopping you two!
You could fashion a base in oak and perhaps the first step of the spiral stair as it's such a good price and style.
I was thinking the same. Depending on where the doorways are even a wood platform
Same 🌷

That spiral staircase was amazing! Too bad it was too short.
You could always do a stone base then it looks like you could add a few steps at the top and also extend the main pole.
