My mother pined away for Sindh, our motherland. She used to say 'asanjo vatan rehji vyo' . . Meaning our motherland has been left behind. . She died without fulfilling her wish to return. A few years after her death, i went to Sadhu Belo in Sukker to fulfil her dying wish.

My Bhau and Amma had to come and they used to talk about how their muslim neighbours were like brothers and sisters to them and help them to come to India ... Although I am Sindhi from my mother's side I feel a very strong and emotional connection to the land ... I understand the language completely and speak it (not very well) ... I would love to visite Larkana, Sukkar, Umarkot ... Where my ancestors are from ...

I’m Hindu Sindhi living in Pakistan and I’ll like to assure my siddhi brothers in India that still today after 70 years Hindu and Muslim living like brother. We have different religions but we love as respect each other as sindhi. Another thing I can assure you that we Hindu Sindhi still celebrate thadri and all Sindhi celebrate chati Chand. Jhulelal and uderolal is still worshiped ad chanted before and after any celebrations.
My fathers tells me that After partition when a lot of mujhahirs and panjabis that migrated from India were homeless so Sindhis welcomed them in their homes, what can I say we sindhis are best. Though we can’t say same for Sindhis that migrated to India. India sindhis suffered alot, but mind like sindhis knows how to survive.
We sindhis are great example of brotherhood.sindhi Dharti is still one of beautiful site of world. The pureness in sindhi heart shines through our smile.

the fact is the first Muslim attack on India was on Sindh in 711 by Muhamed Bin Qasim Raja Dahir tried his best to save Sindh from this attack & sacrificed his life for the Sindhi & Hindi people. His daughters later took revenge of his death by getting Muhamed Bin Qasim killed.
the Arabs ruled Sindh for next 500-600 years until the Tuglaqs tookover they changed the script of Sindhis to arabic but never tried to change the culture or religion of the Sindhis except few from the low castes were converting freely & voluntarly & which remained intact until the Lodhis tookover who send various Sufis to spread Islam amongst the outcasted Sindhi people . Sindhi Hindus & Muslims lived in peace without any mutiny or hatred for one another for next few centuries.
Sindhi Hindus practised 1marriage & 4children policy whereas Sindhi Muslims practised 6-7marriages & 100s of children policy which is why Sindhi Muslims became a majority in few centuries to come. Sindhi Hindus & Muslims did prosperous business & farming around Sindh. Sindhi Muslims joined army navy airforce whereas Sindhi Hindus focused on business & administrative works.
Sooner 1947 partition happened & Mohajir Muslims from UP Bihar Bengal Hyderabad started floating inside Sindh & threatened Sindhi Hindus & Sindhi Muslims with dire consequences that of murder dacoity rape etc which is Sindhi Hindus ran away with whatever belongings hiding gold silver cash in pickle boxes flour boxes.
12lakh Sindhi Hindus ran away from their home towns around Sindh & 6lac Sindhi Hindus remained in Sindh. Sindhi Hindus who ran away arrived @ Gujarat Rajasthan MP & Mumbai Thane Pune . Then resettled themselves across various parts of India especially these four states, the first & second generation of Sindhis worked hard in offices & businesses to make ends living even working for meagre salaries in those days they also assembeled in Sindhi colonies for functions like Diwali Holi ChetiChand etc also shared comunity kitchen for meals & used to shelter poor Sindhis in their homes. During the mid 80s was the time when Sindhi Hindus established themselves in different fields including business & offices & sooner became cash rich with properties & luxuries with them.
Today the 3rd generation is trying to find their identity on google youtube etc about where is Sindh what is Sindhi culture whose Bhagwan Jhulelal & where is Sadhu Bela mandir.
Sindhis must protect their identity by encouraging polygamy & multiple children policy. Also urge the govt for easy visas for cultural visit to Sindh & identify their rich culture like Harappa Mohenjodaro etc.

Harappa and Mohan jodaro these indian Hindu civilization start from Sindh only and that time every one was Hindu, later people converted to Muslim, my great grandfather, grand father lost their birth place, asset, property etc left as it for the hope that later situation will improve and after that they will come back but it was become more worst and after it was forced taken by local Muslims people but here in India they found situation all together different as Muslims are enjoying equal rights as Hindus and after that my grandfather struggle till his last breath to give us good life

Our muslim counterparts infact persuaded our ancestors, not to leave. The muhajirs that arrived in Karachi started the stir up & hence out parents decided to leave this historical land.

My great grandfather also had a huge business of bricks in Karachi as I was told he was the last of the member to relocate to India in 1950 and never spoke of what happened to him during that time, he had hopped that conditions will improve after 1947 and his family will comeback but nothing of sorts happened and what happened to his business was a mystery that died along with him. My grandfather was reminiscing about him during his last months on this earth. I cannot even imagine how a person lives on when his whole hard work, home and identity is taken away from them. My grandfather told that his earlier years were tough as he has to study as well as look after his mother and father also. But I know for a fact he was very intelligent (he did double MA in English and History at the time it was considered PhD.) but never had enough money to go for engineering so he became professor at a renown college in Delhi. He never encouraged us to go for business and told us to always work hard live simple spend as much as you require. Now my whole family is either engineer/ doctor/ professor. My only problem is with people who consider us as refugee. We are not refugee even our parents are born in India. We never protest or demand for any sort of reservation or state. India is as much our country as any other citizen who is living here.

Each of us might have heard from our parents or grandparents that at the time of partition of India 1947, when they came to their new country India their financial and social condition was very pitiable. They were were not helped and cooperated by the local society. But they and their next generation are presently in the respectable and established category. This destination has been achieved by them with their hard work, strong willpower and strugglne in their lives. I salute their hard work and struggle.

There are many Sindhis in my hometown, Jaipur who had come here after Partition. They have worked very hard and are mostly well to do. A Sindhi shop remains open on all days from sunrise to late at night. But little is known about their food and culture outside the community.
