- Today I will show you how to knit these absolutely beautiful and easy baby booties for boys and girls from 3-6M. You can easily knit them smaller or bigger by simply changing your needle size and making it in the exact same way as this tutorial. Just remember these sizes are not exact they are approximate since not all babies are the same size. Thanks for watching!!! 😃🙏

TO MAKE SMALLER OR BIGGER
NB use 3mm knitting needles with #4, aran or #10 ply yarn
0-3M use 3.25mm knitting needles with #4, aran or #10 ply yarn
3-6M use 3.5mm knitting needles with #4, aran or #10 ply yarn
6-9M use 4mm knitting needles with #4, aran or #10 ply yarn
9-12M use 4.5mm knitting needles with #4, aran or #10 ply yarn
12-24M use 5mm knitting needles with #4, aran or #10 ply yarn
*To make edging use crochet hook in the same size or 1/2 size smaller than needles above
Materials used:
Baby Booties = 42g of #4 yarn

I knit for charity and the local organization I donate to has specifically asked me to make booties. The organization gives the booties I make to women who choose not to abort their babies.

I have trouble with this too. I've watched it several times. The directions say to do it wrong sides together but the video does it from the right side. I'm baffled. The back seam looks better done from the right side, but the bottom seam looks better on the inside!

How do i stop video and go back to previous rows?
Good job making this video. I do have a question though. You cast on 42 stitches but after knitting the 13 rows and garter stitch you are working only 40 stitches. Where did the other two stitches go. You have 15 stitches on each side of the top of the booty, eight in the middle, and you decreased one on each side. That makes a total of 40.
If you could explain slowly, using crochet needle part of this booties? Much grateful.

How do you join the last stitch after doing the cast off row? (If you are not doing the v stitches)

I’m sorry, but I’m a little bit confused when you’re starting the top of the booty and you drop the needle push the cable through and then bring the needle from the back and start knitting and pearling and then you do it to the next row, do you do the dropping of the needle for all 21 rows or do you just continue knitting, pearl, knitting, pearl, knitting and pearling? I hope you’re able to answer this question soon so I can finish my project. The babies do in about a week and a half.
My style of knitting might be different than yours. Just knit and purl however you want and the end result will be the same 🤗

Just have to ask, why do you say to measure out enough yarn for 60 stitches when you in the end only seem to have used yarn enough for the 42 you’re supposed to cast on? I measured out 20 and doubled it as you did 2 times “that will give us enough for 60” only to ofc have to redo it to not waste 20 stitches worth of yarn.

Hi friends, I would love some feedback as to what I may be doing wrong... after the 26th row no matter how many times I've tried, I regularly have 29 stitches instead of 28. Even as I'm shortening it from row 13- 26 I notice I have to knit an extra stitch,,,not sure where I made the mistake. Any advice would be appreciated!
If it looks ok to you then just continue and decrease the extra st at the end. It’s hard to tell exactly where you’ve made the mistake so one stitch will not have a big impact as far as size.

15:03 .. How to prevent gap between stitch #19 and #20.
Very important! Once all decreases to form toe of booties are completed you will need to close the hole between stitch 19 and 20!
Slip #19, knit #20, Ssk #19 back over knitted #20. Do not drop the ssk stitch #19 , but knit it before continuing to knit all remaining stitches on left needle.
You are going to join 28 stitches in the round.

Yes you make it exactly in the same way just use smaller needles.

what is the length of the circulars you are using?
I used 32in long for magic loop technique
I’m using straight needles but I’m stuck because I’m not sure what you mean by “just knit and purl on one side then the other side when you turn” you mean finish each row all the way thru knitting and purling? Or do i also divide into 14 and 14? I’m lost 🫤
Don't divide, just work backwards and forwards in rib. At the end you will sew the back all the way up, not just the heel and sole part

I bought your pattern on Etsy but the pattern is on straight needles not circular, is there a different pattern I didn’t see?
The sole is made in rows but the cuff is knit in the round.

I promised myself I would learn this skill as a way of carrying on my mother's tradition of the knitting gorgeous clothes for her grandchildren. She recently died & here I am, muddling through, with STRAIGHT needles! I'd never even heard of the circular type. And now I'm stuck at the end of the 21 rows of rib(?) needing to cast off. Do I just cast off as normal and sew the edges together (bottom to top) before doing the top row crocheting detail? 🤷🏽Yikes!

Can I adapt using DK weight?
Yes. I’ve done them with dk before and the only difference is the fabric is more loose but still nice.

Starting in row 14 there are decreases and there’s additional decreases in row 15
Follow the video exactly & you just cannot mess up ❤❤
The other stitches were decreased to make the instep of the bootie for the top of the foot. I think it was 1 stitch at the beginning of each row
