GOOD CLEAN WORK! WELL DONE, Doing my 1986 vintage Husqvarna 400wr tomorrow Im sure I'll be cutting the bottom bearing up to get it off, although it has been replaced at least once already...THanks!
My 98 kx250 is doing the same also my lower rear shock bearing is bad to i just ordered the new bearings and tools to do it man i hope i can fix it trying to make this bike great again 😮lol
Right on man! Glad it helps, that’s the goal. Please share the videos and help me out I really appreciate it. And good luck on the bearing job. Thanks again!!!
It totally did, I was happy with it! And it tightened up my steering and made it so smooth with the grease in the bearings. Thanks Preston, I appreciate it!
Great video, I’m doing this on my yz 125 and one of the bearings have a rounded lip on the bottom and a one has a sharper lip. Do you know which one goes where? I would think the rounded one would be on bottom to help with installation.
Man, hard to tell. I would honestly call the manufacture and see what they say. I’m almost positive it don’t matter, but I don’t want to lead you a stray. Thanks man, and let me know how it turns out.
Yes, but it’s a handful to deal with, and lining everything up is a major pain… it’s worth the extra time to pull the wheel and not damage or mess anything up. I’ve tried, I wont again lol
@@DanMX2112 got it thanks man! That’s a project for another day but I can feel that it needs regreased. Had a track session and ended up putting it off for now
Hey I hope your move went good it’s been a while. I just picked up a 2008 yz450f and I’m turning it into a supermoto I ordered most everything from toxic Racing to do so. Well let me get right to it! It’s my First Four stroke dirtbike and I’m going through the bike and really don’t have a clue what I’m doing if it’s possible would I be able to consult with you about doing some upgrades and getting the bike up to spec please and thank you for your time
Hey, i got the same All Balls kit for my WR250R. Did you notice the bottom seal rubs up against the bottom race and causes drag? Seems like the seal is slightly too tall and causes more drag than it should.
Mine didn’t, my bearings had no drag against the seals. I wonder if that design is intentional or not. I remember feeling my bearings spin free after the seals had been installed.
@@DanMX2112 thanks! Just to clarify the bearing spins freely with the seal installed on the lower triple, however, the bearing-race compresses the seal a bit more than it should and it's causing a bit of drag when installed. I noticed this before installing it. I stacked the seal, bearing and race, as if they were installed, and the race would compress the seal 1-2mm when pushing on the race (to simulate tightening the steering nut).
@@DanMX2112 you know you're the best. Very detailed video. i was watching your video step by step while fixing my bike. You've saved me hundrads of dollars.
Heck yes! Thanks brother, that’s why I do it, helping guys out while I tear stuff up lol thanks again dude, and please share the videos, it helps me out a bunch!
Dang guys, it’s been a minute since the last upload but the move is over and content is on its way! Thanks for watching!
Great video. It's given me the confidence to have a crack at replacing the head bearings on my WR450 🇦🇺
This actually looks doable. Thanks for the tips dude, appreciate it!
You bet man, good luck and thanks for watching!

Ya that may be the case. Those old bikes take some work for sure! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
Dude this video is awesome. Can't wait to give it a go on my yz250 🤟🏼
Dude thanks Bret, I just stumbled across your channel and it is sick! Let me know if you end up needing any help on the YZ, I can help for sure!
Thanks! using the old race to drive in the new ones is a great idea, saves me $60.
That’s awesome! Most things can be done a few ways, so I’m happy this worked for you! Thanks for watching!

Swing arm bearings and linkage bearings great video I got do this to my 2019 yz250f
Stay tuned here in the next couple of months. I have to do this on my 450! Thanks for watching!
Great tutorial. Thanks!
You bet I’m glad it helped man, thanks for watching!
Dude This video just saved me a lot of money thank you
Right on man! Glad it helps, that’s the goal. Please share the videos and help me out I really appreciate it. And good luck on the bearing job. Thanks again!!!
Great video brother! Thank you for the tips on drivin them bearings without the tools. Can you do a vid in the future on linkage bearings?
That one will come soon on linkage bearings. Glad to help and I appreciate the comment my friend!
Nicely done and explained 👌
Thank you sir!
For anyone wondering. The thicker race goes on the bottom the thin race on top. People say it doesn't matter but who know
I honestly cannot remember, I just sized each raced to whatever came out of each side, as anyone should do. Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you! This video just saved me lots!!!
Thanks man, glad to help! Remember to tighten it up again after a few rides!
Great vid, thanks so much! Did the new bearings remove the play/clicking you had?
It totally did, I was happy with it! And it tightened up my steering and made it so smooth with the grease in the bearings. Thanks Preston, I appreciate it!
Thanks brother from India

thanks man! needed this video
Sweet brother, glad it helped you out!!!
Can you take the top part of the tipple clamp off only while keeping the forks and wheel on the bike

2018 and my bearings are the same 22-1001
Not much has changed for sureN
If you freeze the race. it will shrink a little and make it easier to slide in.
True, I’ll try that next time. I do it with motor bearings and other, but never the steering stem bearings. Thanks for watching!!!
Great video man, I'm guessing mine will be due for this soon
Hard to say, I thought mine would be worse but, they didn’t look good either way! Thanks for watching!

Hmmm as long as your bearings are seated and everything installed in order I’m guessing that must be the design?
I have a 97 cr250 I have grease hanging out the bottom if I leave vent hose tucked inside what should I do
Probably time to repack or replace those steering stem bearing. Vent hose shouldn’t have gas coming out it either, which could cause the mess you see.
Awesome video man.
Thanks man it took a lot of time to make I appreciate the comment. Thanks for watching!

Does the top triple clap just ride on the spud wrench nut?
Correct, and held down using the nut on top.
How did you know which one was upper ans lower?
I just matched them up to the old bearing, the bottom bearing is also too big to be the upper.
Good video
Thanks dude!
GRANDE!!!!
Yes Sir!!!
And then tighten the fork clamps. There are people that watch this and wont realise to do that.
Of course, and sometimes I forget to mention those things. The common sense side is sometimes not that common lol
@@DanMX2112 Yes. Years ago a guy brought his Rgv in for tyres with the top yoke broke in 2 halves. He didnt want it replaced. Took some convincing.
Man I can’t get my steering stem out
Heat and a hammer, pound that sucker out. They seize up on the bearings sometimes.
Thanks for this video man!!
Thanks for the comment and for watching! I really appreciate it brother!
